rb if you’ve heard of/read watership down im trying to see something. it was such a big part of my childhood and still lives in my heart
My first encounter with Watership Down was on a VHS Tape we rented from the library. My dad saw rabbits and showed me thinking it was an animated kids movie about rabbits and would be delightful for me to watch. I being small and dumb couldn't have agreed more. My dad quickly learned not all animated movies are appropriate for small child and I learnt that I can ignore a lot in the bliss of dumb child syndrome because Watership Down remained my favourite movie despite dad not letting me watch it again. I had completely ignored the plot and horror of rabbits dying because hee hoo cute bunnies. I watched it when I was older and was slightly shocked because this wasn't how I remembered it at all. But it remains one of my all time favourites for a whole new reason. And I never hesitate to show it to someone who's never heard of it. I have since, read the book and consumed any other piece of media for it.
HELP i’m sitting at an outdoor cafe and this lady was at another table next to me and the barista called my name and I stood up to walk ten feet to grab my drink and the lady JUMPED up and LUNGED over to my table and took my seat????? i’m not even gonna say anything bc I’m so confused. they’re virtually the same tables with the same views and amount of sunlight etc.
decided the funniest possible response was to just sit back down at the table with her. She’s not looking at me.
she just got up to get her coffee and put her purse and jacket and hat down to save her seat. this is so funny what kind of world does she live in?? anyway we’re just sharing a table now.
ppl keep suggesting she’s neurodivergent and ‘needed’ that table for whatever reason. I’m Autistic & ADHD so I can sympathize with that but she could have asked LMAO. I CANNOT stress enough that as soon as my butt was out of my seat she quite literally lunged for it like we were the finalists in a game of Musical Chairs & the prize was one million dollars
THANK YOU!!! This always rubs me the wrong way!! When someone is rude and ppl immediately assume they’re Autistic, the implication is that u think Autistic people are all rude!
Huh... My only thought was "Eh... She's old so it's probably habitual for her to sit there, she's probably come to like it for some reason."
But still super rude to behave like that, it's childish. Coulda just said 'hey, bit weird but I really like that seat in particular would you mind moving' 9 times out of 10 if you're polite people are happy to comply with requests like this. But Lady probably just felt she was entitled to it cause it's 'her seat' people are like that and it's actually rarely due to something like autism. People just be walking around thinking the world bends to them.
forgot the best part of death note, the american names written by someone who was just kind of guessing what american names sounded like. anyways rip to raye penber, arire weekwood, and lian zapack, average american men
rest in peace real character and average american man mail jeevas
the real american men and women of death note taken STRAIGHT from the manga
Same energy
Ok I know many foreign names in manga/anime do sound this dumb out of cluelessness and it's funny to point and laugh, but in the case of Death Note in particular, this was not a "haha japanese man doesn't know american names" thing. The weird names were a deliberate choice.
I don't have my copy with me right now to directly quote the passage, but on the Death Note vol. 13 tankoubon—which consists of extras and behind-the-scenes content—, the author says that all the names in the series (including the japanese ones) were chosen to not be similar to real names, to avoid creating awkwardness/fear/superstition due to someone's real name being in the fictional Death Note.
For the japanese names, this was achieved by using names that sound like normal japanese names, but are written with unusual kanji (such as the surname Ide being spelled 伊出 rather than 井手, or Takahashi spelled 鷹橋 rather than 高橋). Light's whole name, Yagami Light spelled 夜神月, is very unique and unusual, to avoid creating unwanted association between him and any real person.
Since names in english don't have kanji, the author just invented names that sound vaguely american/british but are not real names in those countries.
oh i didn’t know this! that’s actually really cool!

Follow Us For Cats!
Legit I just had this talk with my parents this morning. My day bought an Easter Lilly and I told him to get rid of it
Very important!
Also important to note: Daffodils are part of the lily family, so they pose a threat to cats as well. Be aware and keep the purry friends safe.
You sound like a good friend! (I'm not being sarcastic)
Uh, thank you mysterious Anon. Hope that I continue to do what ever it is that gave you a friendly impression.
getting an influx of porn bots again... I don't do anything on here how do you keep finding me??? I am aroace I am not even remotely in the base of humans that would be interested in your content!! Begone foul temptresses you will find no patronage here. Also might I add that as someone who is also sex repulsed they definitely are getting bolder with the content since they've started providing one post to "appear human" and the content is always more than I'd care to see when I check if a follower is human. I am severely uncomfy.
