We know Fifi and Poppy moved

Penny is long gone from the Tower

I'm very certain that Felix and Flora stayed in the tower and maybe Percival too

At the same time Pointer could've also left Tangle Tower and sold the story of the case, which is more likely

Which leaves Fitz, who's fiancee was the murderer and has completely vanished from the tower

Now, this could just be me missing something by being real nitpicky about what clues I give to suspects in the games

But I really do wonde how Fitz is doing now

Ok, but Cornelius Cane is a perfect narrative device, to understand Godrik's mental state and his, ahem, grip on reality.

Both Wirman and Tadpole state that it has a very deep value for him, and tends to hold it whenever he feels sad or nervous.

And Gripp has Cornelius with him CONSTANTLY, so you can guess what that says about him...

And we learn that the cane was made from the wheel's wood. Specifically, the one piece he grabbed to stay afloat in a fleeting moment of survival instinct after meeting Her for the first time.

Gripp himself states that he holds on to Cornelius as a way to remind himself to stay grounded in reality, to keep on living.

And so, what does he do, when he decides to summon Her?

He leaves Cornelius behind, so he won't remind himself to resurface...

....along with the fixed compass.

He wanted everyone but him to make it alive...
