THIS BLOG IS FOR SILLY POLLS ONLY

Current: Most American Upcoming: Sweatiest League of Legends Player (accepting nominations until August 11)

Here's them rules:

-We only run tournaments for silly or mundane topics, nothing as serious as Best Ship or Most Likely to Win in a Fight. We encourage people to put forth suggestions for tournaments in the askbox.

-Only nominations via the official Google Form will be considered for tournament entry. However, you are permitted to submit propaganda in the askbox.

-Each DC fandom gets a maximum of 3 characters to compete, whether they be hero, villain, or civilian. This is to prevent the brackets from being dominated by the more popular fandoms.

-A maximum of one guest competitor from a non-DC fandom is allowed per tournament, as long as we think their inclusion is funny enough.

-If more than 3 characters from the same fandom are nominated, we will pick the ones that have the most submissions. If the number of submissions is the same, the ones who were nominated first will be selected.

-Every character that is competing in the current tournament is banned from the next one. This is to prevent fatigue from the same big name characters being present in every poll.

-The size of the bracket and the number of rounds per tournament will be dependent on how many submissions there are.

-If there is a tie, the winner will be determined by a literal coin toss.

-You may submit propaganda in the form of the usual comic facts/panels, fanart, fics, playlists, or jokingly threatening/straight up begging your mutuals to vote for your blorbo.

-We will not punish you for being hooligans or slandering the competition in the reblogs. We will however, remind you that these tournaments are for literal joke titles and thus getting heated over them is basically fighting to be the biggest clown in a circus.

Were you the one who was running the Silly DC Polls account? I might be mistaken so ignore this if I’m wrong.

If so, is the account permanently dead? It stopped mid poll last year and never got updated.

Ah yeah that was me

I stopped posting on that account for a number of reasons, the main one being that between running silly poll tournaments and the GLposting I do here, I was spending entirely too much time on this hellsite and I could feel my tenuous grip on sanity fraying even further /hj

It also didn't help that a lot of the submissions were just people spamming the usual darlings of Tumblr without any thought to whether they fit the actual theme of the poll tournament. Considering one of my goals for the account was to spotlight lesser known characters like Black Manta or Starman, it was irritating to instead see the same big names being shoved in without even any propaganda, as if every poll tournament was just some basic ass popularity contest they'd win just bc they were part of the Batfamily or Justice League.

I didn't delete the account since I do still want to get back to it, but that probably won't happen in the immediate future since I'll be starting grad school soon. Or if I do, the tournaments would be much slower than they used to be (which probably will be necessary anyway since the pace I was maintaining was not sustainable).

Tournament Nominations - Please refrain from submitting more than one character at a time

Given that the posts asking which poll we should run next don't often get much feedback, I've decided for the next tournament or two to just pick from the list of suggestions. I will freely admit that this one made me laugh when it was sent in, and that is why it was chosen.

As always, nominations will remain open for a week and the spreadsheet to view nominations is linked below. Only three characters per DC fandom will be allowed into the tournament, and if more than three are nominated, we will pick the ones who have more submissions and/or propaganda.

All characters from Most American are automatically barred from this tournament. Even if they are nominated, they will not be added to the bracket. The cooldown for Lowest Rice Purity Test Score has ended, so all characters who were part of that tournament are allowed.

Additionally, we've returned to allowing nominations without propaganda as we originally have. However, if anyone decides to spam a bunch of characters without any rhyme or reason like some bozo did for Most American, I'm going to permanently make the second question a required one.

Also his last name is like Ellis Island and that should count towards his Americanness too.

Stargirl Propaganda: - Just look at her costume. Her original name was the Star-Spangled Kid. Plus I'm pretty sure Amanda Waller tried to recruit her for a version of the JLA that was specifically loyal to the US government - She and her stepdad are basically the American flag, also she's such an incredibly American character? Prez Rickard Propaganda: - He's the main character of an American political satire comic and was created to be a Typical American Youth. He's the President of the United States, so in-universe he's considered the face of America. His main colors are red, white, and blue, and his shirt has the Great Seal of the United States and the letters "USA" on it, which he wore even before getting into politics. His name is literally President.
