Hello, I'm Silva! It's lovely to meet you! Welcome to my own little corner of chaos!

I like to write/scream about my lizard girl and the two loves of her life. So you'll most likely see a range of silly posts about them and their relationship, to headcanons, to small snippets of writing featuring them! You'll also see posts related to a few different writing challenges throughout the year if I have the time/energy for it, such as FFxivWrite or Fluffember. My FFXIV OCs Who Appear In My Writing

Silva Cataracta (Silverkin-Cataracta)

A Far Eastern native (Half Doman/Half Thavnarian) who leaves Kugane for Eorzea shortly after obtaining the Echo, seeking out difficult answers for lingering questions. She is very shy around new people and can take some time to warm up/feel comfortable around them -- though, that depends on how fast they click. Otherwise, she's usually super sweet and a bright, bubbly person mixed with a bit of sass. She loves to laugh and considers the people around her who can make her do so very great friends.

Basic Information

Relationship Status: Polyamory Relationship (Closed V Relationship, M/F/M Relationship.) Married/Soulbonded to Ricmorn, eventually becomes Hien's partner. She marries/soulbonds to Hien, as well, during late Endwalker timeline.

Occupation: Warrior of Light. Black Mage, Astrologian, Ninja, Bard, Crafters/Gatherers, Dancer, Summoner. She and Ricmorn own a selling stall in Ul’dah and eventually Kugane.

Family: Her parents died in a Garlean attack when she was 10. Her uncle, Kisan, raised her from that point on. She is an only child, but considers her childhood friend, Miki, the closest thing to a blood sister.

Ricmorn Cataracta (Silverkin-Cataracta)

Born and raised in Gridania, he grew up learning carpentry and leatherworking from his father, while he learned minor conjury and healing magics from his mother. He can come off rather brash and cold at first, most people think he's a cocky person. He doesn't like to show his emotions too much and can struggle with opening up, but when he does, Ricmorn is actually a really kind and caring person.

Ricmorn is very protective of Silva and is always one of the first people to step forward to speak up and defend her.

Basic Information

Relationship Status: Polyamory Relationship (Closed V Relationship, M/F/M Relationship.) Married/Soulbonded to Silva. He considers Hien a close friend and has a lot of respect for him, and appreciates the amount of love and care he has for Silva.

Occupation: Warrior of Light. White Mage, Bard, Dark Knight, Sage, Crafters/Gatherers. He and Silva own a selling stall in Ul'dah and eventually Kugane.

Family: His parents are alive and he visits them as often as he can. He is the mild child, having an older sister and a younger brother.

I had a bittersweet Silva/Hien thoughts earlier a long time ago that's still stuck in my head, and I think about it from time to time and will be a future scene in my Stormblood longfic.

It's before they're in a relationship, but they're both testing the waters and heavily flirting. The scene is them resting on that hill in Monzen that overlooks the whole valley/Doma Castle, and they're just talking.

At one point, Hien’s talking about something Doma/Doman Enclave related, and while he speaks, Silva is just looking at him. She doesn't really hear what he's saying. She's too caught up with her thoughts/growing feelings for him. But she's also still... a little caught up in her childhood trauma. She worries about how they could make this work if they get together. How it would affect them and Hien’s own trauma -- the positives and negatives. They both experienced such horrible things and massive tragedy, and a lot of it is still not fully processed.

She's afraid of hurting him. She's afraid of him hurting her.

But gods, she loves him. She loves him and how human he is, how he isn't afraid to let his voice be heard when needed, but can understand multiple points of view. The world has been so unkind to him, and he finds the strength to go on.

And most of all, she loves that Hien feels like he can be himself around her and not be judged. He can be emotional and open and let down those walls. How they can just be two people when together -- not their respective roles. (At the appropriate times, of course.)

And it leaves her breathless.

Hien finally notices she's too quiet and how her eyes are glued to him. He reaches for a hand and asks her what's wrong. And it literally takes EVERYTHING in her not to say "I love you."

"I love you. I love you, and I want to try to make us work!"

But she squeezes his hand and says it's nothing.

One of the reasons it takes so long for them to admit their feelings for each other and start dating, at least in my mind, is that they're BOTH afraid of hurting each other. And they've both been through enough as it is.

But they won't know for sure if they don't at least try to take that leap of faith!!!

And they do!!! They take that massive leap of faith and TRY!!!

It's not easy by any means, but they do their fucking best to make it work for them, and it is so worth it in the end!!! They are happy and so in love, and their mental/emotional scars are healing over time -- they find... peace.

And where is Ricmorn in all of this, you might be thinking??? He's there, he's around, he sees not all of it but enough to know the struggle and the unspoken fear that exists there between them. Ricmorn doesn't step in unless they ask questions or reassurance, or what his thoughts are about the fear behind being noticed and wanting to be loved by the person on their mind and heart. He truly does want both Silva and Hien to work it out without outside influence or the opinions of others about the connection that grows and blossoms between them.

Thinking about Silva popping over to the Doman Enclave to drag Hien away to a secluded spot so she can hug, kiss, touch, and get a little handsy with him undisturbed for like 5-10 minutes between their duties.

At first, it's something she doesn't do often -- their relationship is very new, and they're still figuring things and each other out. But when he doesn't push her away, when he seems to want more and starts looking out for her while out and about, and at the behest of Ricmorn, her short visits start happening more often.

And... some of those end up turning into overnight visits, too.

A stolen deep kiss becomes more. The pressing of bodies together in an embrace turns into a whispered "Stay. Stay the night, please?" that folds into dinner and the desire for company and time away from prying eyes. A yearning for more than just a brief visit that turns into a night tangled in bed and a quiet breakfast at dawn.

That they are more than just their duties and titles. They are two people madly in love and want to express it whenever possible.

Silva caught in the middle and holding Hien's and Ricmorn's hands, and all three of them are just full of joy and laughter and wearing the brightest smiles and are just HAPPY and--

Sobs.

I'm glad they get a happy ending. I'm glad they get to be together and grow old and have a family of their own and just BE after everything life and fate have thrown at them over the years. That there is joy, love, brightness, and a place to call home in the end.

I often think about how Hien will get distracted from whatever he might be doing just to watch Silva craft or handle her most recent gathering haul of materials so she can sit down and craft. The Enclave is one of her go-to places to find a quiet corner to work on orders. So he's not too surprised when he catches her working. It lets them catch up or spend some time together if he's free. He likes to watch her hands work and her face scrunch in concentration. How nimble her fingers and hands are, and the obvious care Silva has for her craft.

Whether it's handling delicate fabric or embroidery, polishing gemstones to set inside jewelry/gear/weapons, or taking notes of her stock/wares for personal use or to sell at the stalls she and Ricmorn own in Ul'dah and Kugane, he's fascinated by all of it. It's so different from her being a Warrior of Light and a Dancer. To see that distinct difference between watchfulness and being ready for combat at a moment's notice, to letting her guard down and working with her hands. It reminds Hien that Silva has a softer side -- and NOT in a bad way. It's a reminder of how human she is and that there are times when being a Warrior of Light isn't the first thing on her mind.

That being a Warrior of Light wasn't all that she was, is, or meant to be.

And Silva loves that Hien is curious and will ask questions about her work, and never minds offering him answers or taking a closer look at her crafts. That he wants to learn what part of her work lights her up and brings her joy. What part of it annoys her to no end and causes frustration. What she loves to make the most and what she absolutely loathes, but will create for friends and loved ones without a second thought. Or create for customers at the right price, of course. Silva absolutely loves and adores how naturally curious he is, and it means so much to her that Hien takes such an interest.

(Special side note, crafting and gathering are something that actually drew Silva and Ricmorn closer together because they grew up with it/were taught by their parents early on as children.)

And... Hien really loves to hear the stories behind her craft. The people she met along the way who helped her get better, and the techniques that remind Silva of her parents when she used to watch them craft as a child -- who taught her some tips and tricks and were her introduction into crafting and gathering altogether. It's all special to him 💜
