Kristen Stewart Opens Up About Her Sexuality Following Split From Girlfriend
Kristen Stewart is one of the most notoriously private celebrities around and despite dating both men and women in the past the actress has never discussed her sexuality.
The Twilight star recently split from her girlfriend Soko and enjoyed a high-profile relationship with her co-star Robert Pattison a few years back, and Kristen has now opened up about her love life for the first time.
Refusing to put a label on her sexuality, the 26-year-old explained: āMe not defining it right now is the whole basis of what Iām about. If you donāt get it, I donāt have time for you.
"Thereās acceptance thatās become really rampant and cool. You donāt have to immediately know how to define yourself.
"I had to have some answer about who I was. I felt this weird responsibility, because I didnāt want to seem fearful. But nothing seemed appropriate. So I was like, āF*ck, how do I define that?ā Iām not going to.ā
Kristen went on to cryptically hint at her affair with movie director Rupert Sanders, who was married at the time, adding: āPlus, I didnāt want to f*ck with other people. I didnāt want to be the example: Itās so easy. I donāt want it to seem like it was stupid for them to have a hard time.ā
Kristen also told Variety magazine that she isnāt hiding her sexuality, sheās just generally a private person, sharing: āWhen I was dating a guy, I would nver talk about my relationships. I feel the same now.
"Iām not hiding sh*t. Thatās really important to me. As much as I want to protect myself, itās not about hiding. As soon as you start throwing up on so many walls, you cannot see over them yourself, so you just start isolating in a way thatās not honest.
"I definitely found where Iām comfortable. I donāt take credit for that. Things have really shifted in this wonderful way and Iām reaping the benefits.ā
Weāre just glad to hear that Kristen is completely comfortable with her identity at this stage in her life.
