We’re not dead! But we have been killing ourselves to finish the film. So, here it is finally... Silver Lining :) hope you enjoy!

This is the film for our university’s exhibition, but there’s some things we want to polish as we had to rush towards the end. So after a break, we’ll be back to tie off loose ends. Stay tuned!

Quick shout out to the lovely people - Kimlinh Tran for providing the cloud and girl voices, Philip Clements for the sound design, and Perrine Virgile for the music score. These people rock!

And also a shout out to our good friend, Phoebe Warries for her help with linearting and colouring. Wouldn’t have finished in time without her :)

Here’s our new animatic :) some shots have been changed or edited and there’s still more changes to be made, but for the most part we’ve got our story sorted now *phew*. We’ll be entering production super soon >:D

The top two images are environments Joe did previously from shots in a previous animatic.

We got feedback previously on the character designs against the backgrounds, so we’ve been changing the environment up a bit so Silvie fits in it more with her funky pink hair and looks visually interesting.

So here are a couple background concepts by Holly (bottom left image) and Joe (bottom right image), as well as some rough colour paintings (middle image) by Holly to decide on a scheme to go with. I just love those lil paintings of Silvie in each one. On the top right are images we found interesting and possibly fitting for the look of our film.

We love the colours at the moment and are thinking of combining the two, using the style of Holly’s with the use of space and depth of Joe’s. Hopefully it’ll be the best of both worlds :)
