When one hears the term “West Point”, what comes to mind to most people is the U.S. Military Academy. When I think of “West Point” I think of the West Point Mint Facility because of my love of silver coins. West Point Mint was built in 1937 and housed a huge load of silver and was nicknamed “The Fort Knox of Silver”. Now they only have enough silver to satisfy the current production needs for the Silver Eagles.  It still has a stack of gold and super high security is the norm. Why? Gold and silver are real money. You will not get a public tour because they are not offered.
