This day last week we sadly had to say goodbye to our farm dog Major. 💔 He passed away at 11yrs (83 dog yrs) old. Been under a winter storm warning here in Canada as well as blizzard warnings. Winds gusting as high as 100+ km/h and temperatures feeling like -30C/-22F, winds making it feel colder. Blowing snow and white outs, as well as fighting the wind to stay upright while walking lol The storm increased intensity through the day and has yet to ease up, till tomorrow morning (hopefully). Took a few pictures and a video to show the storms intensity here in the open country when I headed to check up on things at the barn. Set this girl free earlier today on some purple cone flowers to stretch her wings and take to the skies when ready. (Yes this is a female) Found the Monarch caterpillar one day among some weeds and rescued it. It munched on some milkweed before going into its chrysalis form just two days after rescuing. Happy I found her when I did and gave her a safer environment to take form in, especially since Monarchs are become endangered now sadly. Last night visible to the naked eye one would be able to see the moon with both Jupiter and Saturn in view as well. (Provided it was clear out) I was able to capture these pictures of the night sky so you can all see as well. When I zoomed in I was even able to see four of Jupiter's moons and the blurry shape of Saturn with its rings. If you missed seeing this then provided the sky is clear you'll have another chance Sept. 17-18. (I captured these photos around 1am while also fighting off misquotes lol) This was a wonderful experience to see for me, especially when I could see the four moons and the outline of the rings. (Don't think I've told anyone about this but I love space.
