So I was browsing some of those websites that sell monster themed dildos (for normal reasons that are none of your concern) and it turns out a lot of them have models called Anubis. And, once again I think it's really weird that furry culture is so focused on Anubis specifically, like sexuality is not an important part of his character at all, do you guys really have nothing better to do than bother a working god out here? But also I have an ethical concern about this, and it's: Hey, is that sex toy alive?
Cause, like, the thing is that the ancient Egyptians believed that gods inhabited images of them. Like, they believed that cult statues they worshipped in temples were alive because they'd had an opening of the mouth ceremony performed on them, but they also believed that just regular drawings or hieroglyphs of them could be inhabited too, which is why drawings of Apophis need to have little knives stuck through him to neutralize him. So, if somebody makes what is supposed to be a model of Anubis's penis, even if it is for very not religious reasons, does Anubis inhabit that penis? Or is it only if someone performs the opening of the mouth ceremony upon it? If I used it, would I then be fucking Anubis? If I stuck a knife through it, would that get rid of the effect, or would Anubis still be there but just in some kind of powerless "I have no mouth and I must scream" kind of situation? Also I feel like making a sex toy based off a god might be offensive to the people who worship him, but that is a more secondary concern compared to my questions about the sentient dildo situation.
