"Hello. I am the owner of this tower. You can call me Rathalos." He looks back and forth like he is making sure something or someone is out of ear shot. "I'm a Silver Rathalos. I sadly now have someone living in this tower with me. She is a Hunter who got lost from one of the nearby villages. I'm sure you'll run into her sooner or later." Mio was at the garden area,just reading rather an old book and all. She hasn't been much active after Christmas since she's been tired out from all giving joy and all. She sighed,decided to head back inside.

Rathalos happened to be over at the castle due to it being right after the holidays and not having much to do. He tried to see if anyone happened to be there at the moment by gently, about as gentle as a battering ram hitting a wall thankfully no walls were harmed, knocking on the wall. He did hope someone was there as he hates the cold. It probably had to do with being cold blooded and well the winter doesn’t agree with cold blood.

Mio noticed the knocking sound. She looked to where she heard it,and saw Rathalos. Mio then walked over and lead him inside.”I totally forgot to give you and Tia a present….my bad.”

"It is fine. Not like I celebrate it anyway. I don’t exactly fit the bill of a merry wyvern if that makes sense." He is a normally always angry, cold blooded creature why would he be a merry person come the holidays. "You seem a little winded there. I take it a little to much gift giving?"

She shows him a list of the people she gave gifts to. And there were a lot. She then rolls it up and puts it back into her pocket.

"I gave a lot of gifts and all. But I only got a very few in return. But that is fine. The holidays is about spreading joy and happiness to all. And that’s my kind of thing."

"Tis the life of the truly kind. At least someone is trying to give people a happy holiday right? Although you should take some time to relax." He says even though he is cutting in time she could be getting rest. "I guess most of the people you gave gifts to enjoyed what they got correct?"

Mio was in the middle of the garden near the castle gates checking her deck of her Royal Paladin. She was looking forward to have a cardfight with her siblings and her Dad when they get get home but she just had to wait. She was snapped out of her daze as she heard footsteps near the entrance. She looked to see Rathalos and Tia at the gates."Ah Rathalos! Tia! I'm right here!" She waved with one hand while she had a card in the other hand.

"Ah hello Mio. Sorry for the sudden visit. We happened to be in the area." Rathalos said walking over to his friend. He noticed the fact that Mio had something in her other hand, but decided to not let his curiosity get the better of him.

"Hey Mio!" Tia ran over to her father’s friend and immediately started to stare at the card Mio has in her hand. "What are you doing?" The pink haired half-wyvern let her curiosity get the better of her, and decided to ask what Mio was doing with said card.

She chuckles nervously while scratching the back of her head as she sweatdropped.”Ahaha…yeah who wouldn’t be frozen by the sight of a fire breathing wyvern…” THATS YOU MIO!

But it was the other way around for Mio, she has been friends with wyverns since she was just a little girl due to her ability to communicate with wyverns. Her mother also had the ability to talk and understand any creatures.

"Well sometimes I attract a lot of attention from wyverns and all. Plus a lot of wyverns even know my name though we never met before. Its probably because I devoted myself to protect wyverns from trophy hunters and all. Its all started when I managed to send 3 fully grown heavily armored crying and running like a bunch of 3 year olds."

"Makes me wonder how you’d react to seeing me in my wyvern form there Mio. I’m technically about the size of a gold crown on the big side not the small side. Meaning I’d be pretty big and imposing. Not that I’m not as a human. I mean this right here scares most people off immediately." He pointed to the scar on his eye. "I’m surprised to never noticed it. I got it while protecting my wife from a wyvern that decided it’d try and attack a simple researcher, said researcher being my wife. I don’t think it was expecting a wyvern in human form to charge at it with a sword and teach it one hell of a lesson. Nearly lost the eye though." Rathalos slightly laughed at that despite not liking the fact that he nearly lost his eye. He did have a smug look on his face to say yeah I beat up a wyvern who tried to attack my wife what about it.

"I wish I had a moment like that. The worst I did was flip the steward of the person I’m following over my shoulder like he was nothing and he was wearing full plate mail armor. I don’t think he asked me to try anything silly like seeing if I could lift him off the ground again. Although I do have a wyvern I’m friends with too. My mom and brother both work with them in battle. If you are wondering my mom fights alongside the version from this time while my brother fights with the one from my time. I’m friends with both versions. Shes like a giant cuddly black scaled teddy bear towards me, my brother, and my mom. She is at odds with my dad." Tia decided to bring up her mother’s wyvern Minerva. She was close friends with the wyvern although she did get treated like a baby by Minerva. Not that she minded she knew the wyvern means well.

"GOLD CROWN YOU SAY?!" She says with much enthusiastic before she coughs,"I-I meant wow thats pretty big! I would be kinda suprised or standing stiff you managed to get back in your wyvern form."

Mio you big liar. Normally people would scream their heads off when they see a wyvern or Elder Dragon coming right at them right? For Mio? Nope. She was like a wyvern whisperer(*COUGHSCOUGHS*) and gets along with much of them pretty quick. Did I mention an Goa Magara had a crush on her aswell?

"Well atleast you never get captured by one of your ally’s enemies and NEARLY get used. And you’re lucky you have a mom Tia….as for me…..I don’t have a mom…." She sighs,"I never really knew my own mother. She died when I was just a few days old. My Dad was worried about my safety and eventually left at a human town. But still…I never really mixed with the townspeople and the kids called me a weirdo since I like wyverns and Elder Dragons. I was always surrounded by adults and had no friends. I did have a very few but they were all gone too soon on fateful days. I had to act mature a lot of times but that decreases my social skills..and I get shy pretty often around adults unless they were crappy trophy hunters. Thats when I decided that I live alone..in the middle of the forest where nature is my companion. It was kinda hard living by myself but thanks to the training I’ve received when I was younger…I survived. I survived my own darkest times…that probably will come soon."

"To be fair I'm pretty much a dwarf in comparison to Kratos. He'd be bigger than my tower in wyvern form. I'm only bigger than a decent sized house. I swear you probably would not have wanted to meet me when I was younger. I'd probably attack on sight or just stare at you till you left. I wouldn't even speak. I've only talked to a hunter once and I was really young when I did it. It was also a really silly moment in my life and I'd rather not mention it." He didn't want to bring up the fact that as a whelp he bite a female on her rear end. The sillier thing was that she gave food to him even after he did that. "Also remember Mio I never knew either of my parents. They were both killed by hunters before I hatched. It was miracle I even survived this long."

"You have a point. Wait when I first met my parents I just got saved from barbarians. Although to be fair seeing as I knocked one of them out with a single hit they ignored me for the most part, but I was still their captive. The only bad thing about time travel. You never know where you'll end up. That is kind of sad that you didn't know your mother. To be fair I didn't remember my mother that well till I meet her in this time."

"Hey Mio!" Tia ran over to her father’s friend and immediately started to stare at the card Mio has in her hand. "What are you doing?" The pink haired half-wyvern let her curiosity get the better of her, and decided to ask what Mio was doing with said card.

"Yeah my dad’s name is Seth and he is a black fatalis. And no I made sure the deck is easy to catch on and also not old. I added the last year’s Kagero cards since they aren’t much Perdition Dragons right now but the company is still working on them."

And Tia wasn’t the only one. Even Raiden the lagiacrus admitted that Mio was stronger than those crappy hunters thrown at him after she saved him from a goa magara’s virus. And yes she is strong since her stamina and strength is beyond a kid her age due to her training she’s received.

"Well yes. That is the basics of course. You need to get used to your deck or clan,or else you’ll mess up real bad. Kinda like how I started my first cardfight. Gosh reminds me of my days being a Rathalos bait. Plus if you can plan more than one tactic,then thats good. If your opponent messes your current strategy then head for the other strategy in mind. But each time you make adjustments to your deck you have to make new strategies."

"Ah yes him. He is a interesting person to talk with. Someone deserving of a unit called Overlord as his avatar. So what are some of the cards you added if you don’t mind me asking? I can see Dragonic Overlord, but it must be a different version than what Seth is using. And I thought the term was Rathian, or Ioprey bait. I guess terms change with time huh? Although there are no fiercer a flying flame wyvern than a Rathalos." He sounded a little pride full there, but you could hear a bit of sadness in his voice. It was mainly because he reminded himself of his inability to use flames like he could in the past.

"Well its always god to have a plan b. You can’t always run blindly in and hope for it to work. That is normally plan z. You never go for plan z. With the whole Rathalos bait phrase it reminds me of when I heard about hunters who fight wyvern from my mom and dad. It seems a little silly hear them refer to each other differently based on how well they are in combat. I mean wouldn’t you freeze up the first time you see a creature bigger than a house that breaths fire in front of you?"

"Dragonic Overlord? Actually thats my dad’s avatar card. If you know the meaning of overlord,then you’ll probably get it. And there hasn’t been any releases of new trial decks for Kagero but I made some adjustments so you’ll be kept up to date. And yes Tia this is the latest trial deck for the Genesis clan.Plus the skills are spot on and easy to understand. Since you have the most powerful Genesis Legion, I’m sure you’ll get used to the trial deck. And when you are, you can always buy more booster packs and make adjustments. Hey you can’t use the same tactics all the time." She shrugs.

"Wasn’t your dad’s name Seth or something like that? I honestly forget since didn’t I only meet him once while trying to visit you? I know it was the second time I ran into Kratos that is for sure. Your dad also is a Fatalis I believe. I could be wrong though I know he is an elder dragon like Kratos. I just forget which one." Rathalos was afraid to ask how Mio adjusted the deck to keep it up to date. "So I won’t be left in the dust then?"

"I guess changing tactics are nice every now and then. It is hard to change what you are used to using though. I mean when you are used to one plan of action its hard to not change it. Although if you ask me Mio almost any card can be strong if played properly. I mean its just like in battle. Even the weakest warrior can turn the tides of battle with the right support." Tia knew about that first hand due to having fought in battle before. She tended to be the weaker link in battle despite being stronger than a person twice her size.

"Trial deck two? Dragonic Overlord? Interesting name for a deck." It then clicked in Rathalos’ head that the name sounded familiar. "Doesn’t the card Kratos have in his deck have Dragonic Overlord in its name? I’m guessing the face card of this deck and that card are related right?"

"Trial Deck thirteen? That is a large gap from the one my father was given. It says its name is successor of the sacred regalia. Does that mean it has cards that support the regalia sub clan?" Tia was unsure, but was right there was a regalia card in there. It was mostly an introduction to the Genesis clan as most of the trial decks are.

It’d be fun to make a deck to face you with. All I have at the moment are two Dragonewts, a Whirlwind, a couple perdiiton triggers, a couple normal units, and a royal paladin card. Would you like said royal paladin Mio?" He thought he’d offer. He did want to card fight Mio though. It’d be rather fun.

Rathalos shook his head. To him it didn’t seem like the dragons themselves wanted to assist Ai in that final attack. “I’d say Ai you got lucky there. It didn’t feel like the cards wanted to help you there. Mio you fought great. I probably would lose to you if I faced you then again that may be because new player, but hey it still something.” He hoped that Mio would be a little cheered up after losing there.

"That was a lot of Fire. A lot of fire." Tia seemed to be in awe at all the flames that just swept over the area. "Anyway Mio I agree with Rathalos you did good. You really showed how your paladins worked incredibly well."

She scratched the back of her head,”Well looks like I still have a lot to learn about vanguard.”

I was looking my Legion on the board.Mio noticed the ‘this feels wrong’ look on my face,”Ai? Something wrong?”

I was out of my daze,”Huh? Oh its nothing.You did great by the way. You should fight with Kratos and Rai too.” I packed my deck and putted it into my deck box,”That reminds me. This Royal Paladin might be useful.” I handed her High Spirit Seeker Celyn. She takes it and noticed the legion symbol.

"Well I’m off. Call me if you want more cardfights. Maybe I’ll have Kratos and Rai with me too." I waved before walking off to the gates before disappearing into the forest.

I closed my eyes. Sensing something from the deck and the cards in my hand and also on the board. I then opened my eyes,”Final Turn!”

"W-What?! But you only got me at 3 damage!" Mio looked a bit nervous since I rarely say final turn. But if I did,that means I got big plans.

I draw a card,”I call Whirlwind Dragon and Perdition Wyvern Grue!” Whirlwind Dragon appears on the empty rear guard with Grue behind him.”Now then…..LEGION’S SKILL!” I do a counter blast and discard Vortex Dragonewt from my hand into the drop zone as red flames started to appear around me and the dragons.”One.” Blaster Blade was casted out of the battlefield.”TWO.” The rear guard Light Blaze Dragon was out.”THREE!”

"My vanguard too?!" She checks for a damage trigger."Heal trigger! But wait!" The heal trigger burned! She lets go of the trigger as it lands onto the damage zone.

"If my opponent’s damage zone is four or less,the triggers’ effects are nullified." I smirked. And things were starting to heat up.

"Thats why you didn’t guard….you needed enough cards to do your Legion’s skill! Shit,I’m getting burned alive!" Mio gulped.

"Final blow! Vortex Dragonewt! Whirlwind Dragon! TRINITY CRIMSON FLAME!" The two perdition dragons got their flames ready. And Mio couldn’t guard since she only had two cards in her hands.

"Twin Drive Check." First was no trigger but the second trigger was a shocker,"Critical Trigger. All effects goes to my Legion! For the Dragon Empire! Vortex Dragonewt! Whirlwind Dragon!" They both released their flames as Mio covered her face with her sleeves as the flames hitted her Legion. And slowly the top 2 cards landed onto the damage zone. Mio has lost.

Rathalos shook his head. To him it didn't seem like the dragons themselves wanted to assist Ai in that final attack. "I'd say Ai you got lucky there. It didn't feel like the cards wanted to help you there. Mio you fought great. I probably would lose to you if I faced you then again that may be because new player, but hey it still something." He hoped that Mio would be a little cheered up after losing there.

Then Rune Eagle appears the normal Light Blaze Dragon.

"FINAL BLOW! LIGHT SAVER DRAGON! LIGHT BLAZE DRAGON!" They both charged at my Legion."But then I pulled a perfect guard unit,"QUINTET WALL!"

And Mio seems a bit shocked as Ars was casted out of the battlefield,”there goes my intercept unit.” She then looks back at me.

"Now then,Hunger Hell Dragon!" Hunger Hell Dragon runs at Light Blaze Dragon as Light Blaze got his stance ready.

"I don’t see why not having this Ai person give us a demonstration for vanguard though. Although I do have agree on the how surprised will she be hearing that though."

Mio nodded and lead us to an open field but there was some garden parts. When me and her stood on the proper place, a cardfight board appeared infront of us. We placed our deck on the board and placed our starter cards onto the vanguard circle.

She looked to see Rathalos and Tia at the gates."Ah Rathalos! Tia! I'm right here!" She waved with one hand while she had a card in the other hand.

"Ah hello Mio. Sorry for the sudden visit. We happened to be in the area." Rathalos said walking over to his friend. He noticed the fact that Mio had something in her other hand, but decided to not let his curiosity get the better of him.

"Hey Mio!" Tia ran over to her father’s friend and immediately started to stare at the card Mio has in her hand. "What are you doing?" The pink haired half-wyvern let her curiosity get the better of her, and decided to ask what Mio was doing with said card.

"Wow talk about luck. Only one pack too. I swear I’d laugh if Whirlwind would be the other." Much to Rathalos’ surprise Whirlwind very well could be since he is only an R. "Its still surprising to see Dragonewt appear from a pack like that. I doubt it could be the card seeing me like how Planetal Dragon saw you though. I mean anyone can get a lucky pull. As well luck doesn’t mean much to most people." Rathalos said that as he was seeing what was in his other pack. He mainly pulled Kagero units from the pack, but had raised his eye at the back card. "Mio could you have use for this?" He held up the only RR royal paladin card in Set 17 Purgation Breath Dragon. "It says its a royal paladin."

"Wow that is pretty cool. I didn’t think I’d have that much luck. I guess its just the clan probably saying it suits me or something silly like that. Does make me wonder what the other pack has though, and Yggdrasill’s effect sounds rather powerful. An attack that prevents the foe from using superior guarding power. It sounds amazing just thinking about it." Tia does the same thing her father did with opening her other pack. Like her father it was mostly what she’d need for her with a slight chuckle she held the card in the back of the pack. "I’m guessing this is Yggdrasill’s partner right?" She was holding the R version of Norn meaning she had the strongest legion for Regalia luckily completed.

Her eyes glittered as soon as Rathalos held the card.”Purgation Breath Dragon?! I’ve been wanting him since I bought the legion booster packs!” She takes the card,”My brothers are gonna flip out when they see this! I just need his legion mate! Ah yes Tia-“

She went silent when she saw Norn in Tia’s hands,”Tia you now officially have the strongest Genesis Legion there is! Same goes for Rathalos with Dragonewt and Whirlwind! If you managed to master the skills of your deck, I highly doubt I can beat you guys! Ah you guys don’t mind having Ai coming here right? Me and her could give you guys a demo at vanguard.”

"Leave it to the wyvern with luck that makes no sense to get the good cards huh?" He said that a little jokingly, but was glad Mio was happy to get a card she needed. "I'm sure miss Ai will flip when she sees that I pulled Dragonewt albeit by himself from a pack. Although she might flip seeing you have Purgation Breath with or without its mate. I also don't mind Ai appearing out of no where like she normally does to show us a demonstration of how Vanguard is played."

"I agree with my father here leave it to the wyvern with luck that makes no sense. Although it'd be half wyvern in my case. Also it'd take us a bit I mean we barely have cards to form a deck with. We'd quite a bit more to have 50 card decks each." Tia slightly laughed at Mio's surprise with her pulling Norn. "I don't see why not having this Ai person give us a demonstration for vanguard though. Although I do have agree on the how surprised will she be hearing that though."
