i call this...."beefless brunch"

not only because no beef was served at this lunch. but because no beef was present either. the drama kind of beef.

when you get a phone call from someone inviting you out to brunch to squash beef that you didn't even know you had xD we both got the yerba mate and this new ice cream the spot had featured on their menu this week. it was good. and it was night on the town day so the meal was free. I don't mind these kinds of phonecalls and dates. It was yummy. And Reese is pleasant to talk to.

Reese invited Francine out to brunch to make up for what she referred to as "not always getting along" and um...i genuinely didn't even know that Francine knew Reese. I mean I'm sure they met before but hey- iiii did not know there was any disconnect along the way.

Greta: you know...there's something different about you lately...

Francine:....oh yeah?

Greta: yeah...something's...not the same as usual.

Francine: i'm a ghost.

Greta: ahhhhh yes. that's what that is. you've had this...glow about you lately.

Francine: and you thought it was a new moisturizer i was trying out?

Greta: girl you are gorgeous, it is not that uncommon for you to be glowing.

Francine: (˶ > ₃ < ˶) thanks mama. however. i am SEE THROUGH.

Greta: aw come on, it's not that noticeable. Also you've been throwing parties and seeming to still just be vibing as per usual so nothing seemed too out of the ordinary for me to like... feel cause for concern or ask you about anything. Are you sad that I didn't ask? Or that I wasn't worried?

Francine: aw nah, I'm just fake giving you a hard time just to be silly. But really Greta you're not even curious as to WHAT HAPPENED?

Greta: well. you've been taking that physics course at university, you're literally a fairy, and also you have those lightning root plants out back. So I figured a science experiment went awry, some fairy business gone bad, or some dangerous gardening took place.

Francine: okay but if I noticed you were a ghost I would ask you what happened.

Greta: so....you're upset?

Francine: noooo not upset just...confused at your lack of curiosity or concern >-<

Greta: well like i saaaaaid -_- I wasn't concerned because you seemed alright...and I was curious for like the 2.5 seconds it took for my mind to figure what I just told you I did. Look, next time you change physical...states of being, I will call you and make sure I inquire as to what happened. OKAY?

Francine: i'm not mad -_- i just. Am still learning things about you I suppose.

Greta: what did you learn?

Francine: umm. well you're a lot more chill than I thought.

Greta: than you thought? was I giving like...un-chill energy prior to this?

Francine: no i-

Greta: because like...that would bother me. if you thought I was unchill before...

Francine: you we-

Greta: what was I doing that was like...unchill?

Francine: GRETA

Greta: *mouth full of veggie yakisoba* hmm? o_o

Francine: Greta I love you.

Greta: If that's really reeeeealllly true can you make some more of this veggie yakisoba for meeeeee?

Francine: of course Greta

Francine: uhh Greta....

Greta: yes?

Francine: you didn't say it back ｡°(°¯᷄◠¯᷅°)°｡

Greta: oh i'm sorry I got distracted by how good this veggie yakisoba tastes. I LOVE YOUUUUU BESTIE

you know you're best friends when you throw a party and instead of taking a plate from one of the few fresh dishes i made FOR the party (¬_¬") she instead grabs a leftover plate from the fridge of some veggie yakisoba i made the other night. she said that's what she felt for and she has best friend fridge access privileges. i shook my head at her from across the room. and agreed.

things have been so busy with francine. the wishing well gave us some ingredient to make a dish that would change our ghostie-ness however we needed top-level gourmet cooking skill to make it so this was us taking a moment to sell some sweets in between cooking practice, e-sports team meetings, university classes and coursework, and entertaining our very frequently-visiting neighbors who since us moving to Sulani have MADE SURE we do NOT go hungry.
