She watched as he drummed his fingers against the wooden table top. Talia could only guess the level of his anxiety was at an all time high through this repetitive motion. Tap, tap, tap. Not only that but the urgent texts he had been sending her lately, and then the surprise visit. Not so much a visit actually, he had been sitting on her stoop as she was about to leave for work that morning. She opened the door and nearly jumped out of her skin at the sight of the hunched over figure sitting there, with his head helplessly cradled in his hands.

Their friendship grew, as Basil did, along with their entire family’s bond. Travis moved into the house, which meant their parents were officially together. Things were finally falling into place.
