Tutorial: No Camera Height Adjustment
I've been pretty content with the camera in Paralives. But there was one thing that was driving me bonkers … the camera bouncing up to the upper floor when the top floor was visible.
I downloaded a mod to fix it, but it ended up breaking when all the other mods broke due to the recent folder issue. So I started looking around and discovered I could create my own mod by tweaking one setting! That's it. And since it's a local mod there is no need to worry about Workshop folders or moving files around.
I don't plan on making mods for other people. I can't deal with the pressure of update requests, support questions, bug reports, etc. My brain gets overwhelmed. 😭
BUT! It's simple and anyone can do it. So I figured I'd share a quick tutorial.
At the main menu of Paralives, select Mods.
Select Create New Mod in the bottom-right corner.
Name your mod. (I named mine No Camera Height Adjustment.)
You will now see your mod in the mods list. Hover over it and select Edit this Mod.
In the top-right corner, select Control Panel.
You will see A LOT of settings that can be modified. For this tutorial, select Free Camera under GENERAL.
There are a lot of settings you can play with, but for now all you need to do is uncheck Move Camera At Current Floor Height.
Select My Mods in the top right corner, hover over your mod again, and click Stop editing this mod (yes the capitalization is different here and it bothers me! LOL!).
You can add an image, rename your mod, or even upload it to the Steam Workshop if you want. (I'm not going to police this!😆).
Click the back arrow in the top-left corner to return to the main menu, then jump into the game and test the camera.
