Silly story I wrote :3. I would ignore any mistakes lol
Oliver holds the side of his sweet, beautiful Isabellās face. She looked like a goddess, as if Aphrodite was mortal. Here he finally was, seeing his lover in person for the first time.
The two lovers stood on an island, in the middle of a lake. The island was empty aside from the red spider lilies. Beyond the water of the lake was a dense forest. In said woods, were eyes watching the two and their love.
His love opened her mouth to speak, but instead of her smooth voice, came another womanās. The voice seemed familiar, like heād heard it before. But where? His love, with the voice of another said:
āSnacks? Anybody want snacks? Maybe coffee?ā
Oliver woke; his face pressed against the cold airplane window. Oh man, how long was he asleep? His trip was 11 hours; he was probably about halfway to Finland. The place he would find his love, his Isabell.
As the flight attendant passed with her cart, Oliver decided not to get any food at this very moment. He ate before he fell asleep, so he wasnāt that hungry.
As the plane passed above the clouds, he began to think. To think of his life once the plane landed, to think of what would happen once he married her. They would probably have kids, maybe two. A nice home, maybe a dog or a cat as well. It would be amazing. They would grow old together; their kids might have kids of their own. Go to college. He couldnāt wait.
While he gazed upon the heavens, the plane shook a little. Just a little turbulence. A single bird flew by, it looked like a crow. But he wasnāt an expert on birds, he didnāt really know. Whatever bird it was, it was a shiny black with a slightly curved pointed beak. Mean yet elegant looking. He wanted to feed it some bread.
As the bird passed, the plane continued to experience turbulence, shaking like it was about to go down. But obviously, it wasnāt, that only happened in movies, right?
Whilst the plane shook Oliver gripped his seat, just to be safe. He just stayed, looking out the window. The clouds were moving up, fast. No, it wasnāt the clouds, it was the plane. As the plane descended, he heard the noise of panic, even a baby cried.
The pilot came over the intercom, also sounding confused and panicked. āWeāre going down. Brace for impact.ā
As the pilot said this tears filled Oliverās eyes. Oh god, he thought, please let me be okay.
Now, him not dying when this whole thing eventually hit the ground or water below was impossible But, he needed to have a little hope.
So as they fell Oliver reflected on his life. He reflected on what had happened, his mom and her funeral. He reflected on what was to come, his Isabell walking down the aisle, he was never going to see it.
The plane hit something, causing Oliver to knock his head into the window, due to the force of the impact he passed out. He didnāt dream about anything, he just snapped awake after a second of dark.
Oliver opened his eyes, he didnāt feel much in this very minute. Just a calm washing over him as his ears rang and he stared at the sky, the light blue color with the plums of smoke was calming. Wait, plums of smoke? Thatās not normal.
And so, seeing the abnormal smoke, he sat up. Pain shot up his body, from his leg to his head. What was happening? When he looked down to see why he was in pain, he saw the large part of the wing on his leg.
A fretful scream came out of him as the sound of the chaos flooded his ears. Another man, one who was tall and strong looking, approached.
This man looked at Oliver, his eyes wide. He stood over him, just looking at the smaller man.
āOh god man,ā The man spoke, he sounded like someone who would have joined a fraternity, ālemme help you, bro.ā
The man went to look at the wing piece, to see if he could get it off. He squatted down and Oliver sucked in a breath, anticipating the pain of the part being lifted.
āAlright, on the count of three. One, two, three!ā He lifted the wing, and Oliver tried to scramble out from under it.
He had to fight back the tears, tried to push the pain of his injury down. His leg was most definitely broken, shattered maybe. And it hurt like [heck].
āMark!ā Called another from the remains of the plane. āWe have a woman and child over here.ā
The man, Mark, looked over at where the otherās voice came from, before turning back to Oliver.
āIma go take care of thatā Mark then ran off.
As Mark went to go tend to the woman, Oliver cried. Well, more like silently sobbed. The pain was too much to bear.
His life was coming apart, falling apart around him. Shattered like the plane.
During the first day, the survivors made him a cast out of scrapes of plane and wood. It wasnāt the best, but at least it was something, right? Every step he took was agony, like someone was stabbing his leg repeatedly.
The surviving group was made up of himself, a doctor, a woman and her newborn, an elderly couple, Mark, Markās friend, a teenage girl, an artist, a chef, and a grieving widow. They all had roles to play. The doctor aided those who were ill and injured. The husband of the elderly couple knew how to survive in the woods, while the wife knew which plants were poisonous. And for Mark and his friend they were the leader and protecter. Now, for those who didnāt have a specific job, they helped get wood or forage. Everyone did their part, except the baby, but thatās an infant.
Day two, they explored the island, in search of a place to set up camp. They discovered that it was pretty big, taking a whole day walk a fourth of the perimeter. The part they walked was mainly a beach area, but there was a forest in the middle. It was a large dense green forest. It wasnāt a tropical forest, but still a dense one. This remined him of a show heād seen.
Day three, the group continued their journey. As they walked, they found some of the fallen. The ones who had fallen out of the plane before it crashed. Oliver felt sick seeing the bodies. He spotted the flight attendant that had passed him before the plane went down. Oliver didnāt sleep much that night.
Day four, they spent the whole day walking, only stopping when needed. It was grueling, but they needed to explore. His leg was getting better, which is good. But that didnāt mean it didnāt hurt.
Day five, after a few more hours of walking, they found berries. Which the old woman said werenāt safe. Eventually they made it back to the plane wreckage. And he finally got somewhat good sleep.
Day six was uneventful. All that happened was the widow and old man went to go hunt for food. While the teen and the chef helped make camp, everyone else gathered wood and anything else they could find.
Day eight, the food ran out today. All the snacks from the plane were gone. Oliver had suspected it was the teen, she had been complaining about hunger. Or maybe it was chef, he seemed like someone to eat all the food.
Day seventeen, the group had sent Oliver to fetch firewood. But something seemed off with them. They looked hungry. Their eyes seemed to follow him with hatred.
He hobbled through the woods on his makeshift crutches, trying not to trip. The forest floor was covered in roots and branches. But oddly enough, there werenāt any animals. There was only a feeling of being watched, like he wasnāt alone.
When he returned to the camp, everything felt different. The hunger that filled their eyes was almost all consuming.
Mark had stood up with the handmade spear in his hand, he used this spear to protect the group. From what? Oliver doesnāt know, they havenāt seen any animals. As Mark approached, he saw the doctor wince and cover the teenās eyes. Mark was going to attack him, wasnāt he. He was doomed to never see his love again. To never gaze upon the face of his sweet, beautiful Isabell. And his last sight would be a party frat boy, named Mark.
Mark struck him, everything went dark.
Oliver cupped the side of his loves face. The two were on an island, an island in the middle of lake. The lake was surrounded by a forest. In the woods were the eyes of the hungry wolves that killed him. The island was empty, except for the red spider lilies that surrounded them.
His love opened her mouth to speak, but it wasnāt his Isabellās soft voice. It was anotherās. It was calm, eerily so. Yet even though the voice was eerie it was comforting.
āCome along my child,ā said his love, with the voice of lady death, āyour time has come.ā

Her boyfriend would get off the plane. Charlie would never leave her, right? Not like Olive did. He truly loved her enough to stay, to show up.
Somewhere near her, she could hear someoneās phone. They were watching the news aloud. Something about four survivors of a plane crash.
As she sat on the uncomfortable bench, her mother called her name.
āIsabell? Do you want food?ā Her mother asked kindly
She wished Oliver had loved her as much as she did him. But given the fact he never got off the plane, he didnāt.
