I think this right here is truly the moment where Klavier actively decides to trust Apollo, almost an unspoken sentiment of "I'm choosing to trust you, please don't make me regret this"

by calling Daryan to the stand as a suspect he is putting so much on the line. no matter what happens really, his relationship with Daryan will never be the same. he's putting so much trust in Apollo's abilities as a lawyer and more importantly his integrity and commitment to truth above all else. I think when he brings up that he doesn't believe this and his closeness with Daryan, I think in a way he's saying that he's trusting Apollo. he doesn't believe Daryan would do it, Apollo has given him a reason to question that disbelief, and now he's choosing to trust that Apollo hasn't done this carelessly and that he'll bring out the truth, whatever that truth may be.

replaying Turnabout Serenade while focusing more on Klavier and his trust in Apollo and like... I feel like towards the end is when we really see Klavier actively choosing to trust Apollo, before that tho I think he's still testing Apollo a bit but also Apollo is kinda proving himself without Klavier even setting up any sort of test or challenge first (unintentionally, without realizing it, and undeniably authentically) which I think really cements Klavier's trust in him as a person and as an attorney. the closest we get to Klavier testing him is that imo there are moments where Klavier seems to be intentionally trying to provoke him into backing down on the truth, when Apollo starts pushing for answers that are actively a detriment to his case and Klavier makes jabs at him for it and calls him "cold", in general I feel like we see a good amount of Klavier trying to provoke Apollo in the courtroom but much less of those direct challenges that we see in Turnabout Corner

there's something about the fact that Klavier's ability to trust the people around him is one of his greatest strengths but also it was that same trust that both Kristoph and Daryan exploited and abused

you know, when you think about how the way the Enigmar trial and the events surrounding went down had been bothering Klavier for seven years, it kinda shines a new light on that "if you find any more mysteries, do me a favor and keep them to yourself, ja?" moment in Turnabout Serenade... "they left us with not only a murder, but a mystery!" put into context with all the doubts and questions about the Enigmar trial and the forged evidence and Kristoph's involvement in the whole thing that Klavier has been living with sitting in the back of his mind for the past seven years, no wonder it gets under his skin so badly, no wonder he'd rather not have to deal with any more mysteries surrounding a murder.

As an older queer, allow me to say: the walls of the closet are load-bearing. It is our job as a community to stand in front of that door and tell everyone who wants to peek inside to fuck off.

There are so many reasons a person may choose not to come out and there is no reason a person would owe the public or a stranger that information. Certainly it's not owed simply because someone is famous.

We have fought for decades to make it safer for people to be open and authentic about themselves, but we are not yet there. And even if we were, the closet would still be something we need to maintain for those who are not ready to reveal that part of themselves.
