Create a safe space for him to express those soft emotions. It only makes the bond deeper.
Need more like you
I would die happy with her
This wasn’t relationship oriented, I was speaking of my guy best friends. They confide in me because we have a great bond and I took time to understand them.
What are some ways to create safe spaces for them? 🤔
For starters actually care about them as a person and what they’re saying. LISTEN without interruption, just let him vent and say what he is saying. Eye contact, holding his hand or whatever he personally prefers to let him know that you are in tune and engaged in what he is saying. Don’t shake your head or say ‘mhm’ or those sounds as he speaks just stay quiet while he speaks. If his voice starts to crack or he starts to cry reassure him that it’s going to be okay whether it’s with words or physical contact. Some men like to be held, some don’t and you have to do it anyways because they’re not use to it. Hold him while he lets it out, for however long that may be hold him. Know that this moment isn’t about you and your opinion isn’t to be thrown out as soon as he is quiet, unless he asked for it. A very big important one is to not use any of what he says against him. Do not give into the hyper masculinity bullshit and call him weak, a pussy, emotional, a bitch or anything like that. He is vulnerable and has soft feelings just like women have let him show them without judgement. Let him cry to you without judgement. If he needs to yell to let out that pain, shame, anger or whatever else let him. He’s been holding it in for years. I’ve gotten men to spill their guts to me because they trust me and I’ve done all of this here above. It’s all about learning him as a person. I do this for all of my friends. I’m everyone’s fake therapist.
Shit girl you a fuckin’ BLESSING! Everyone take notes this is how you fuckin’ do it!
