Silence, a Poem
It came just like it went
Broke all of my sense
Good and bad, no pretense
But I know just to commence
It's all I ever do
Start from scratch
Another wild dejavu
Cause time does go back
Where was I again?
At the tender age of ten
Dreaming of flying away
Away from here, where I began
How many times will I start over?
Will I ever get to the finish line?
Will I ever just enjoy some wine?
Smell my home clover?
House chores is all there is
Packed with a reading list that persists
“I'll get out of here, I know”
I have a feeling this’ a sick show
In the audience no one’s watching
Can hear the silence, the mocking
“Shhhhhh. If you listen, it's shocking
It's only you, no one stocking”
Mocking, mocha, expression, espresso
One plus five makes it 15 a day
Frantic whispers, must have a Bordeaux
Least we've gone away with ashtrays
Count our losses, that was a win
Forget our bosses, remember the adrenaline
Would I do it again? But they were businessmen!
Silence here to explain why I'm so inhumane
Don't ask me questions
Or ask me all of them
Don't make corrections
Or fix all you can
The silence is so loud
Loud as a whole crowd
Start over, let's go
Another type of silence to unfold
Or, we can just sit here
Listen to the noise
But that's never a great choice
To embrace or to kill the voice?
