ten ways to love the sims 4 again (or at least try to)
1. take all your cc and mods out of the game. maybe play with only a default skin & eyes. play with a light & bright reshade. the game will look like how it should. you wonโt become overwhelmed with building, making sims, making over other sims, and you can justโฆ. play. and you should. just play! make a backstory or donโt make a backstory for the sim. the charm of the game is still there! (and once it gets a little boring, you can add your cc back! makeover the houses youโve build and the sims youโve made. make a post showing the difference.)
2. go back to a sim you were passionate about. even if you lost their tray files, remake them from memory! even if they donโt look the same, itโs okay! post them once or twice. post them ten times a day.
3. purge your mods folder. clean up your tray folder, maybe even start some new saves. switch up your defaults. change the way you organize stuff. sometimes itโs good to get a fresh start.
4. take breaks. dont play the game for too long. the sims is just one of those games that will get old super quick. itโs not a bad thing, since taking breaks is 100% very important anyway.
5. take some portraits & have fun editing them. try something new! donโt worry about likes. we donโt have the energy for that anymore.
6. watch some videos about the sims. whether itโs speed cas, speed builds or just something silly, these always get me in the mood to play sims. watching gameplay of challenges gets me in the mood too; if you were anything like me, you remember seeing challenges on youtube and wishing that you could play them tooโฆ well, now you can!!! go back to them! watch videos from 2012. you started playing this game for a reason!
7. makeover old sims. whether or not youโre completely happy with them! change up some skin details, give them a new haircut. dress them up in a style opposite to their current one.
8. makeover your blog. makeover your cc finds blog. a fresh start helps! sometimes itโll motivate me to do more with my blog when i have a shiny new theme or page!
9. make a character page. or maybe just write out some character stuff in a .txt document. or donโt do that at all. sometimes itโs fun to make silly ocโs for no reason. you donโt have to do anything with them!
10. forget about simblr. games are meant to be fun; if you donโt want to play the sims today or tomorrow, then donโt. if you want to post, then post! you donโt exist for pouring out content. followers who care about you wonโt mind your absence! make a side blog for gaming. make a side blog for cooking. revisit your passions so that the sims wonโt consume your free-time. unless you want it to, in which case thatโs fine too.
