Parfait made with strawberries, pears, blueberries, and plain yogurt
Smoothie made with almond milk, a frozen banana, blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries
Take out from Lupe Tortilla! I got their taco salad which has chilled iceberg lettuce with grilled chicken fajita meat, pico de gallo, shredded cheese, and tomatoes. I asked for my guacamole, sour cream, and dressing on the side so that I could add the amount I wanted.
Baked sweet potatoes, asparagus, frozen mixed vegetables, and a slice of honey baked ham
Baked salmon with white cooking wine and fresh dill, asparagus, zucchini and squash with tomatos, and red potatoes.
I always make these small side salads to go with lunch or dinner.
Fresh blueberries with a double fiber English muffin topped with PB2 and homemade mustang grape jelly.
This morning I made a sugar-free buttermilk waffle. I topped it with PB2 (powdered peanut butter), raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, and a bit of lightly sweetened shredded coconut.
"0g trans fat" DOES NOT mean the same thing as "no trans fat".
Companies are allowed to round down to "0g trans fat" if a serving size contains .49g of trans fats or less. Serving sizes are sometimes tweaked to meet this criteria for labeling. Multiple servings of "0g trans fat" foods could add up to more than the recommended amount for a day (less than 2g), but many people consume these products under the impression that there is no trans fat in them at all!
So how can you tell?
CHECK THE INGREDIENTS!
These are clues to products that contain trans fat:
Shortening
Partially Hydrogenated Oil
Hydrogenated Oil
Remember, not all types of fats are bad, and some trans fats occur naturally (most often in dairy and meat products). Just be aware of what you are eating, and be kind to your body!!
Baby spinach, baby carrots, celery, fat free feta cheese, and chopped walnuts alongside strawberries, raspberries, and a Californian mandarin orange.
Baby spinach, strawberries, green grapes, feta cheese, and wheat thins.
Fresh strawberries, blueberries, and grapes with a whole wheat mini bagel topped with PB2 and pecans.
Today’s dinner was a swai fillet topped with tomato and a simple creamy homemade sauce, broccoli, green beans, cooked carrots, and whole wheat bread.
The best part of summer starting? Fresh fruit and vegetables!
Tonight I had chicken breast pan grilled in breadcrumbs topped with Parmesan cheese, sauteed spinach, green peas, and a roasted red pepper quinoa brown rice blend.
