sorry. thinking about how katniss just genuinely mourning rue started riots across the dictricts as people realized how fucking devastating it was that they just willingly watched the murder of a 12 year old. just the realization that they’re so desensitized to literal child murder started an entire uprising and revolution. it just gets to me man it gets me every time

I was thinking about how in the hunger games movie, Peeta tries to hold Katniss' hand during the tribute parade to get more supporters from the crowd. Katniss', at first, refuses, but then reconsiders, and holds his hand. And she lifts up her arms.

And then in catching fire, Katniss is the one that reaches to hold Peeta's hand, and it's so organic and sweet. They've gone through a whole hunger games and tour together and they've experienced so much trauma together. Katniss reaching for Peeta's hand is such a big sign of growth, even if it's a soft and subtle gesture she did. If you blink, you might miss it. But it's there and it's so cute. 🥹💖
