            Oh, I just went to Camp Half-Blood…wanted to see Chiron again, see how everything was going.

            You haven’t missed much, by the way—here at the Institute, I mean. I think we got a new receptionist? I dunno. But Halloween is coming up, and that should be a blast.

Oh, that sounds like fun. I feel like I've missed out on like, half of the demigod life because I never went there. Oh, well, maybe I'll just have to visit sometime.

I was wondering about that! A new receptionist? I guess I'll have to meet her. I honestly can't wait for Halloween. Do you know if there are any big plans around here?

Kaius rolled his eyes at her, “What? Are you a strong believer of ‘there is no try, only do’?” He laughed and shook his head, trying to explain himself once again, “Sorry, It’s… a bad habit, so I highly doubt I can change in a day for you-” He paused midway, to register what he said and looked up to her. There was the urge to say sorry for saying sorry but he remember this time, and just shrugged and timidly nodded in apology.

He let out a breath and dropped his shoulders, more of in relief that she wasn’t in any way probably slowly backing away with his word already. This is why he shouldn’t be conversing so much when half of the time he’s making an ass out of himself. “Yeah, just come find me whenever you need to feel better about yourself. Me doing weird things is probably 24/7,” Kaius grinned.

"Yep. I have it tattooed on my arm and everything," Sera said, matter-of-factly, before laughing. "Okay, not really." She raised her eyebrows when he apologized again and chuckled. "It's okay, I don't expect you to change. I'm just saying, you shouldn't feel like you have to apologize to me, of all people," Sera said with a kind smile.

The redhead grinned and shook her head, "Oh, please. You're not weird. I mean, aside from the whole demigod thing." She genuinely liked Kaius, something about him made her feel comfortable and he seemed like he would be a good friend.

He stared at her hand before looking up at her as he tried to hide his own smile. “Alright, deal.” He promised, shaking her hand, but continued, “I’ll try.” As if breaking their agreement almost immediately. He looked around the empty lab and pointed to a corner, “Me probably there watching people just.. uh, be.. people?” It sounded really weird. Hell, it sounded creepy, but it was what he did. “I swear I’m not creepy,” Kaius let out a nervous laughter as he tried to justify himself, “It’s just well, people have more interesting lives to look at.”

"You'll try?" Sera asked, an amused smile taking over her face. Her blue-green eyes sparkled with laughter. "You promised, Kaius, so you have to do better than try." She tucked a strand of red hair behind her ear and gave him another smile, shaking her head. "No, I get what you're saying. People-watching is most definitely fun. I mean, it makes me feel better about myself when I see other people doing weird things," she said, honestly. "I agree."

"I missed you too, Sera-love. I missed holding you, kissing you, just having you close to me." Ajani had to admit, he hadn’t done much other than miss Sera. Even he couldn’t find the words for how glad he was she was back.

"Well, that's nice to know," She smiled, a light blush coating her cheeks.

Sera smiled and stood on her toes to kiss him on the cheek. "You're ridiculously adorable, you know that?" she asked, though it was more of a statement. "And just so you know, there are a line of my old friends who want to meet you."

            Lucky duck. I’ve been freezing here in NY. Freezing, I tell you. Did you visit family there or was it just a nice holiday spot?

I can tell, coming back here is sort of a shock to the system. Well, I used to live there but I was just there on business. Tying up loose ends, that sort of thing. I did get to see my old friends, though, so that was a plus.

Dante laughed humorlessly. “As did I, and we did a bit more than just argue….” He held up his hand and pulled off his ring, and his entire arm turned pitch-black. “Old man has a hell of a handshake….” He raised an eyebrow at her. She couldn’t fool him. She acted much like he did when he first discovered his power. He even would deny it to anyone who saw him use it.  “Not as rare as it seems, eh? But hey, even lightning strikes twice…..so to speak.”

"He's a great guy, isn't he?" She asked, with a sarcastic laugh. Her smile dropped when Serafina saw Dante's arm. "How did..." she shook her head as he explained. "That's crazy." Sera ran a hand through her red hair and bit her lip. "How could you tell? I mean, is it obvious? And also, could you please, uh... not tell anyone?"

Well thank you! Yep, Hawaii, the land of no winters. It was nice to get out of the cold for a little bit, but I'm glad to be back.

"Just thinking of ways to keep you out of jail. Can’t have my roomie stuck in a jail cell, who would do all my bidding in the room then?" Kaelyn played along, shrugging her shoulders. She smiled sheepishly at Sera’s comments. Part of her was glad Sera couldn’t see her pissing people off but the other part felt bad. "Well, you haven’t actually seen me in action yet. I’m thinking if you stick around, you’re bound to hear or see me pissing someone off for no good reason."

"Ah, a very good point. What brilliant plans have you come up with while I was gone?" Sera asked, a smile on her face. When she was younger, Serafina had never had many girl friends, and having Kaelyn as a roommate and also a close friend made her happy. It was nice to finally have someone to talk to about things that guys just didn't understand. "I don't think so, but I suppose only time will tell. The same goes for me, I can be pretty damn annoying, just a warning."
