my dad and I are gonna build coldframes and look at all the seeds i bought! 

cost me like $40 but i got parsley, green beans, lettuce, 2 kinds of cucumber, cantaloupe, spinach, lavender, carrots, cilantro, bell peppers, radishes, dill, tomatoes, sugarsnap peas, basil, oregano, and watermelon. I gotta get some fruit seeds too.

repotted and rearranged some of my plants: jade plant to a claypot and to sunnier spot, dwarf banana to a bigger pot and less sunlight and the lemon and grapefruit seedlings to new pots. the small cacti are growing roots, hopefully they’ll start growing soon!

Let me introduce you to my little Angelica Archangelica, or ‘kvann’ in Norwegian. Cultivated in scandinavia since before the viking ages, and used as food, medicine and protection against dark magic, it’s quite an interesting creature. Nowadays it’s sadly not used for anything at all, but with such a majestic history I think it deserves a renaissance 💚🍃

 MAGNOLIACEA
 A genus of evergreen or deciduous trees and shrubs which provide some of the most spectacular effects obtainable in British gardens. In the main the tree magnolias are outside the scope of this book being suitable for only large gardens. There are many others which are quite suitable and worthy of the extra soil preparation required to grow them with success. A soil rich in humus is suitable, more so if abundant moisture is available. To this end good lime free loam should be added to poor soils, plus at least one quarter by bulk of leaf mould or peat. cultivation at least two spade blades deep will help to ensure drainages. Sunny sheltered positions if available should be utilized and spring planting will ensure better chance of success than moving in the autumn. Avoid planting too deeply also. Pruning as a rule is not required, but when needed should be done before leaf fall. Some can be grown from seed, while others may have to be grafted onto seedling stocks. Layering is often used also to raise new plants and, in some cases, plants such as M. liliiflora ‘Nigra’, are propagated by cuttings.
