Well, hello there, and welcome to my humble blog. My name is Kurt Hummel and I'm merely a fashionable young man from a small town, determined to both be successful and achieve my dreams in the city of my dreams, New York City.
As for the perhaps more pertinent information about myself; I'm twenty two years old, openly gay, I'm a Musical Theatre student at AMDA, and also a very lucky employee at VOGUE.com, working with the ever fabulous Isabelle Wright. At times it can be hard juggling the two, but being able to practice both of my passions is literally a dream come true and I am very thankful to have been given such opportunities.
I am also thankful to have such an amazing and supportive boyfriend, David Karofsky. We've been together for over two years, and he means the absolute world to me. We've had quite the journey and, of course, we've had our differences, but I am so proud to be able to call him mine. I love him so much, and words literally cannot describe him.
Back to about myself; I have numerous interests which are not exclusive to fashion, Broadway, makeovers (they are literally like crack to me), baking, and cars. I don't quite know what else I can put in this description, so hopefully this is enough for all of you curious people out there. Not so great… There’s not all that many at the moment, least not ones that I actually have a good shot at. Most of the time they’re only looking for more seasoned performers to audition, which often leaves me spending a couple of hours waiting, hoping that they’ll be willing to take a chance on me and see me afterwards. But, I remain determined! I’ll land a part soon enough.
Rachel is also insane and had been too busy preaching about singing what you know that she fucked herself over in the process. I’ll still never understand how she made it in unless what’s-her-face feared for her life of something. And yeah, you do. It’s funny.
Why would you want a shot at something that’s gonna give you a bad rep anyways? You would have been known as the actor who debuted in a shoe that doesn’t even have proper musicians. You’re worth more than that and there’s probably a reason the universe made you miss out on it.
She's incredibly talented, so of course she made it into NYADA. But, that doesn't change the fact that it's still very much possible to forget your words. It happens all the time, further proved by the fact that I forgot some of my words today, and I have that monologue completely memorized. And I'm so going to buy you some ear plugs and make sure you wear them at night.
At least I'd have debuted in something as opposed to nothing... But, I guess you have a point. As usual. It still would have been nice if the audition had gone a lot better, though.
Rachel's been singing the Funny Girl soundtrack ever since she could talk (or so she says). If she could forget the words to Don't Rain on my Parade, anyone can forget the words to anything. Nerves do funny things to you— Wait, I do? I thought that had stopped...
Maybe... But there's not exactly a whole load of them out there. At least not ones that I have so much of a shot at. It just would've been nice to start off on a better note. Not get kicked down at the first one.
You don't know that that didn't happen, David. It was just... It was a disaster from start to finish. I flubbed some words in my monologue, I dropped my sides all over the stage, I'm not quite sure what the pianist was doing but it was all wrong and I missed my timing a couple of times, and I could tell by their faces that they don't want to see me again.
Well, I know where I'd love to go, but it's completely out of our price range and very much impossible right now... Realistically though, I think you know where I'm going to say.
I am now officially 22! I can't say I feel any different... Except for feeling a tad spoiled that is, seeing as I have the best friends, family and boyfriend I could ask for. I'm a very lucky guy.
