Hiiiii...
I’ve been gone for so so long, and I guess a part of me was hoping the simworld was put on pause while I was gone, but oh lordy have you guys overdone yourselves with both storymaking, modelling and cc making that I prob won’t play play sims for another half year lol.
People that say stuff like “We already have all this in sims 3″ ... No kidding.
Sims 3 is not Sims 4. If you were happy and thought Seasons in Sims 3 and Sims 2 was perf, then why are you complaining when we get the same stuff in Sims 4, just with the twist and feel of Sims 4? Isn’t that exactly what we want? Them to bring back the stuff we actual care about?
I know I’m not very active atm, but I just had to chip in on the new expansion pack coming out :))
I don’t know about you guys, but I think this one looks to be a more finished and thought out expansion pack, which actually adds the stuff you first and foremost want from a Seasons pack. No “we added hamsters going to space, but then we had to remove the realistic part of them, like... actual interactions”.
I don’t need semi-fantasy stuff all the time. At least not at the expense of the essential stuff. The weather machine is a fine and OK touch. And it doesn’t ruin the pack for the people not needing it! Wohoo!
So I’m looking forward to it, seeing how it actually works with the game and how much it adds to it. I know I’ve missed Seasons, but when I play with it in game, will it fulfill the need?.
Sometimes its super easy and great that they just bring exactly what is expected, and not trying to make it more than it is all the time. This trend they have had in certain packs (the need for super crazy awesome new stuff no one thought about or wanted), has always seemed to be replacing the actual content that is expected.
So summed up: I’m excited, and positive, but trying not to have too big expectations... :D
Why do I decide to do the biggest productive task I can do at 2 am...
“hmm, time for bed maybe? yeah lemme just print this book first so I can mark the text with my highlighter tomorrow cause thats a bit better than digital :)))”
Like wtf, and I’m that type that doesn’t like to stop, enough is enough, so now am actually trying to figure out how to print a book, with print on both sides of the paper so it actually becomes a book...
aand now its 3:30 am and I’m not close to done yet
I can feel the serious depression hanging over me rn.. With everything else going on in my life , my weight is the last drop. I’ve been doing OK and losing a lot of weight, and I’m really determined to keep on losing it, but the last two-three weeks my weight has plateaued and I’m not losing as much as I’ve hoped. It keeps to like 500g or around there, but I’m going for 1,5 kg or 2kg +. I’m eating way below the 500g deficit, I’m eating tops 1200 kcals, and like 5/7 days I’m eating below 1000kcals, so I’m set on the road for 2kg deficit...
So like I said, up to the recent two-three weeks I’ve lost 1,5-2kg in a week, but now I’m meeting the wall...
So I’m just grinding my teeth and waiting because I guess its only temporary (I hope), its only on a plateau, so I will soon get back to the ‘normal’ weight loss again... but it’s really not helping my situation or confidence right now...
If my plan has worked so far, why have it stopped more or less completely now? blæh
There is something called a RAW version of a picture on Tumblr
I was so hyped when I find out about this, but maybe some of you already know about it, idk. I’ll be informing you anyway!
So, 1280 is not the highest quality version of a picture on tumblr after all.
You can find the original sized picture by replacing the “xx.media” with “data.” and “_1280” with “_raw” in a link.
Like this:
78.media.tumblr.com/xxx/tumblr_xxxx_1280.png
is replaced with
data.tumblr.com/xxx/tumblr_xxxx_raw.png
This gives you the original picture that was uploaded to Tumblr, and not the compressed version(s). This goes for _250 and _500 version too of course.
Take a look at this Sims screenshot:
1280 version (compressed by Tumblr)
RAW version (original, as uploaded to Tumblr)
You can see that ex. the bush and flowers down by the stream, is clearly much sharper in the raw version.
Keep in mind that I don’t have 4K screen or anything like that. My screens are 1920x1080 on the Windows computer I use.
I’m guessing this is a great deal for the ones that like to link to the quality picture(s).
You know how it is: You’ve taken some great portraits or game pictures that look better than Tumblr shows, so you put down “High quality picture” links that links to the 1280 version. Now you should rather link to the raw version! :)
And yes, I have checked some of you guys’ pictures … :D
(Is that even right grammar…? I’m too tired to think)
Sorry for the super long post. I’m not very good at explaining stuff and I guess a lot of this is overexplained and could probably be cut in half (:
Keep reading for other examples and a tiny exclaimer type of text. (you don’t have to read it really, it’s mostly just babble)

I’m no tech guru when it comes to picture sizes and dimensions etc, so I can’t really speak for the difference between compressing a large picture down to a smaller picture and compressing a ‘normal’ picture down to another ‘normal’ picture (say 1920 down to 1280). I guess it depends on what you’re going to use it for. I’ve compared some of my photographs and before zooming in and all that stuff you can’t really see big the difference.
Hi! I’m Salem. I had a simblr with the same URL but I had to deactivate that account because tumblr likes making things extremely difficult. I have forgotten the simblrs I followed & cause of that my dash is dead. Please re-blog/like if you are a storytelling simblr [I’m open to simblrs that post game-play with a story-line]. I will follow with my main-blog - itssalemapaige. Merci et bonne journée!
i’m going to be starting a legacy soon, so i just want to fill up my feed!
if you’re a simmer, reblog this so i can follow you, i’m new and just starting out, and i’d love to make new friends <3
about me;
my name is marisa, i live in the us and i’m 20. i usually can’t post during the day (mon-fri) but after work i sit down and play sims. i love coffee and spaghetti. >:) so yeah that’s it i guess?
I can turn the current kitchen into dining area and the current living into kitchen. And then have the living room where the two empty rooms are (at the bottom of the picture)
I can move the kitchen to the empty rooms are (bottom of the picture) and scrap the dining room ... OR turn one of the rooms at the bottom to a dining area. Only problem I have with this is... it gets cramped and I dont really know how to cramp a kitchen into that space... and it seems so lonely down there.
I guess I have to experiment with the floor plan downstairs AND maybe expand at the top to fit the 3 bedrooms I want..
If you have any input or ideas, please let me know :-D
People don’t understand the hard work that goes into sim stories for the sim story tellers.
It’s the ideas
It’s the writing
It’s the scenery
It’s the posing
It’s the struggle of taking pictures before your game crashes for the 3rd time
It’s the editing
It’s the, erase and write that paragraph over because it doesn’t sound right
It’s the days when you go to your friends and say, “Do you think this is okay?”
It’s the constant writer’s block
It’s the fear of being ridiculed having an “okay” attitude about negative situations like drug use, abuse, etc, in your story
It’s the hope that someone enjoys your story
It’s the self conscious feeling that your story isn’t good enough
It’s the days when you just want to scrap everything and just give up.
There’s a lot of personal feelings and hardships that Simblr writers go through. I’m not just referring to me, but I’m referring to many who put their creativity into something like this to share with others. And that deserves just as much attention as any sim picture where the only struggles are, what pose you’re going to use, and how to edit it when you’re done.
Especially writing about difficult issues…does anyone think crime writers condone murder? Why is it different for the Sims? It’s still writing, just a different medium. It’s weird how you have to be cautious posting hard core issues because some readers think it means you’re okay with it. This is a great post all around!
