they’re  damned  ,         have  been  since  the  day  they  were  born .    there  was  never  a  moment ,    not  even  one ,    in  which  there  was  hope  for  the  ramos  twins .    they  both  know  it :    they’ve  both  tried  to  deny  it .    that  only  ends  in  broken  hearts  and  scars .    so  they  follow  this  path  to  hell ,    knowing  it’s  never  been  paved  with  good  intentions .    only  the  recognition  that  for  them  there  is  no  other  choice .    no  second  path  in  a  yellow  wood ,    one  less  traveled  by  or  whatever  the  fuck  that  poem  is  talking  about .  

alexana  lays  on  her  bed ,    black  curls  spread  across  black  sheets .    she’s  not  wearing  any  makeup ,    and  she’s  hoping  they  don’t  have  any  guests  she  doesn’t  know  about  who  might  see  her  like  this .    in  an  old  worn  tshirt  with  bags  under  her  eyes .    she’s  only  comfortable  enough  with  alejah .    sage  is  probably  somewhere  downstairs .    they’re  supposed  to  go  out  tonight ,    but  for  once  alexana  doesn’t  want  to .    she  wants  to  be  human  for  a  moment :    to  lay  in  bed  and  watch  a  movie  with  her  brother  or  something .    but  that  isn’t  an  option  tonight .    not  when  their  father  is  in  town .    it’s  not  alejah’s  fault ,    but  she’s  been  shooting  him  a  glare  every  time  she  tries  to  coax  her  from  her  place  in  bed .    he’s  just  trying  to  help  her .    cheer  her  up .    and  honestly ,    he’s  probably  smart  to  offer  her  drugs .    she’s  going  to  need  something  to  get  through  tonight .    and  it’s  always  more  fun  when  he  takes  them  with  her .    but  the  fact  he  scored  from  someone  he  was  seeing   ( read ,   fucking )    means  he’s  off  again  with  riley .    which  also  explains  why  he’s  been  in  a  mood .    and  why  he’s  with  her  now .    alex  pulls  her  face  a  little  ways  from  the  pillow  where  she’d  been  hiding  it ,    her  eyes  finding  his  face .    ❝   are  you  going  to  take  it  with  me  or  stick  to  drinking ?  ❞

he  felt      guilty     for  leaving  her ,  and  for  disappearing  for  nights  on  end  only  to  make  his  way  back.   the  timing  was     wrong ,     and  he  knew  that ,   but  that  didn’t  change  the  fact  that  he  was  here  with  her  now.   no  matter  what ,  she  was  always  going  to  be     first.       it  didn’t  matter  who  he  was  seeing ,  or  who  she  was  ----   they  were  always  going  to  be  in  this  thing  together ,  until  the  last  of  them  died ,  it  was  always  going  to  be  the    two  of  them.    

knowing  their  father  was  in  town  had  them     both     on  edge.   their  lives  were  seemingly  easy  enough  when  he  was  away.   they  got  away  with  doing  whatever  they  wanted ,  whenever  they  wanted ,  with  whoever  they  wanted.   but  if  things  weren’t  going  according  to     his  plan    it  made  things  worse.   he’d  been  trying  to  do  enough  to  keep     both     of  them  from  getting  scolded ,  but  only  time  would  tell  if  that  was  enough.

eyes  look  over  at  her ,  leaning  up  in  her  bed  as  he  nods  his  head.   he  wasn’t  going  to  let  her  do  it  alone.    and  truthfully ,   it  gave  him  a  chance  to  escape ,  too.     he’d  been  spending     so  much     time  with  riley  lately ,  and  although  it  was  always  welcomed ,  it  also  led  to  confusing  feelings ,  and  that  was  something  he  didn’t  want  to  deal  with  right  now.   “  i  could  use  the  break.   i  don’t  wanna    think     for  a  while ,  “  he  admits ,  before  he  glances  back  at  her.

dark  hues  were  downcast ,  and  he’s  unsure  of  what  to  say.    he  wants  to  tell  her  that  she  doesn’t      have      to  live  this  way ,  that  she’s  able  to  choose ,  and  that  he’ll  respect  whatever  choice  she  makes ,  but  he  knows  deep  down  there’d  be a  hole  in  his  chest  if  she  did  leave.
