Merry Christmas from the Swaims/Hugheses
Chicken pot pie. Yum!
Early celebration of our 2 year wedding anniversary!
In celebration of a friend's birthday, we went down to DTA for a new experience. We tried our hand at team work and problem solving at Mission Escape. We completed their Military Room with just 20 seconds remaining. After this fun little experience, we went next door to El Toro Bravo for a delicious authentic Mexican meal.
So after work I stopped by the store to grab a snack. Everyday after work this week I’ve been volunteering and I’ve been starving by 9pm so I figured today a snack was in order. I picked up a box of Van’s Say Cheese crackers and I was looking forward to a mouthful of cheddar deliciousness. I’ve never tried them before but the box was convincing so I purchased them.
I got in my car and opened them immediately as I started on my way over to my volunteer gig. The first cracker didn’t taste the way I was expecting but not in a bad way. Actually, though it was an unexpected flavor, they were really quite good. Then I looked closer at the cracker and I realized it was a square when the image on the box was a hexagon. And that’s when I noticed that the image on the box and the cracker in my hand actually looked nothing alike.
I think what I got inside of my Van’s Say Cheese crackers box was really Van’s The Perfect 10 crackers. Unexpectedly delicious.
In posting the last video of baby Brody, I realized that Alex and I (and my coworkers) spent months working on this and I never shared it. So this was our submission in an international museum dance off competition. We came in third and we continue to question whether we should enter again next year. It was a good bonding experience for everyone but I also know we all showed up to work on more than one occasion with less than 3 hours of sleep. A lot of time and effort for nothing but the memories, the good and the bad. Definitely fun to look back on though.
This is baby Brody's puppy video. Dukes didn't get a puppy video so he is also in this lovely little video. So adorable.
Came home from work early today to find this lazy son of a gun napping on our deck. Not even going to try to pretend I wasn't jealous.
I’m not sure what most people do on a Friday night but we set up for a photo sesh. We only had to rearrange half of the basement to achieve this massive set up.
How is this sweet pooch not the cutest? Not to mention he’s basically the best listener on the planet. He can out-listen your dog any day.
First at home haircut by yours truly. Luckily Alex isn’t bleeding…..yet…..
Nick and Allison got a new puppy. Baby Brody gets along well with his older cousins and is absolutely adorable.
Two studs basking in the shade.
What a spoiled creature. She definitely found her “comfy spot.”
We had a good trip down to Martinsville/Stuart, Virginia. It was nice to see my grandparents and my aunt and to spend some time with them. Hopefully we can head down there again soon.
We had a wonderful time with family over at our place for Easter. We’ve sort of made a tradition of taking a family selfie.
Last weekend we welcomed spring at the AMM. Governor Hogan attended the event. It was absolutely freezing and pouring rain but overall everyone had a good time.
