So, you may know my original ship poll @bestshipsmackdown (currently doing pre-qualifying rounds to fill out eight missing spots in the official bracket), and you may be wondering, ‘Hey why are you doing a whole separate ship poll?’ And you’re right! That’s super weird of me.
However!! This time it’s not about relationships! It’s about vessels! This is all about what’s the best ship, whether it be a steamboat or space voyager! You get to submit the contestants!
General Rules:
No people or relationship ships should be submitted.
Real ships can be submitted, but I would definitely prefer if people stuck to fictional ships.
Use internet etiquette: curate your own experience. If you can’t simply block the blog and move on, when you don’t like something, you’re too young/immature to be on the internet unsupervised.

Thank you 💕 I really do love snakes so much and I recently found a much more affordable company for enclosures with front sliding doors and my boy Adog (Banana Genetic Stripe BP) is getting an upgrade (extra 30 gallons that he won’t use bc his favorite activity is never being out and about lmfao) and I was gonna move my girl, Psychopomp (Orange Dream Ultramel Pinstripe BP), to his old enclosure but I think I might just splurge and get her one of the front doors too. (She’s always out and begging for food and honestly she’s so pretty it’s always such a delight to see her cute little face.)
Then I can clean out her quarantine bin to use for the eventual bullsnake. And I got a teeny locking tub for eventual baby hognose quarantine. Once they pass quarantine they’ll get upgraded.
I actually did almost make it a plan to work on this in the airport bc the last time I worked on this was in an airport. But I didn’t. I still have the intention of finishing the polls. And once I relocate all the photos for the ships, I will absolutely start posting polls again.

I think, for the record, it takes a lot less effort to say “JKR is a pos and has caused unequivocal and irrevocable harm to a minority/marginalized community by using her money and voice to advocate against trans people, and I do not support her,” than it does to go on a rant about how no one is entitled to your “political opinions” on your poll blog. Because trans people should not be treated as a political novelty instead of real human beings. And even if your blog has “nothing to do with politics”, queer people are surprisingly not just whittled down to a political stance you can take, and I have no problem publicly stating that this blog is safe for the lgbt community and is not founded on bigotry.
Yes, I agree that, curating your internet experience is important, and that fandom is not necessarily made up of people likeminded to their creators. HOWEVER with HP, it is much more likely that you are transphobic when you publicly tolerate it. Seeing as that is the main trend when we observe blogs still circulating HP content.
I really never had intent to even allow JKR/HP to even appear on this blog because I wanted to be as far removed from it as humanly possible. Hence why I have, in the past, just deleted HP submissions without even ever stating they weren’t going to be apart of this poll.
All this to say, I followed a blog that allowed HP characters be apart of it’s poll (explicitly stated in the submission process), which was already a red flag. And then, to truly no one’s surprise, when they were (actually very politely, considering this is the internet) asked for their stance on JKR to make sure that it was a blog they were okay with following, they had a very long winded answer, without ever actually condemning JKR [links to give an example of my first thought of how their answer sounded] besides a throwaway line about “sins of the creator.” Which, if you publicly post HP, yeah you’re gonna be scrutinized on if you’re transphobic or not. That’s the risk you assume at the current time. Just kinda what happens when you support loudly transphobic people with no reassurance that you actually can separate the art from the artist.
Now, I have made a post about my views on separating the art from the artist, previously. And I still stand by that post. When I said “There’s some creators you can’t avoid how nasty they are, because they scream it from the rooftops,” and “There are some people who do things that are so far beyond wrong that they cannot be looked at without that standing out as the most important thing about them. Their failures as a human outweigh any good that has or could ever come from them.” I specifically had JKR in mind. It is common knowledge what kind of person JKR is at this point. There is no question on what she is.
I recognize that the person behind the poll blog, that this post is about, may not like my view on this or on their statement regarding it. And I do in fact classify them under my general “no creator is a good nor perfect person” umbrella. But I will not be attaching their name to this, as I do not want anyone to harass them about it. I do not want harm to come to them about this. I would hope they would rethink how they had answered and perhaps actually acknowledge that they aren’t transphobic. But considering that would have been the easy answer to begin with, they probably are transphobic, and that really sucks.
And to anyone reading this, please do not harass the person this is about, if you do find them, or know who they are already. They are entitled to their privacy and safety, they are not actively spreading hate nor harm.
The fault I saw was in the way in which they answered the question. Because while no one is entitled to their political opinions, trans people were largely not a “hot political topic” until JKR stuck her nose in it and changed the political landscape drastically to include the prosecution of trans people. So yeah, people wanting to know if someone posting content, from that monster, is in line with her way of thinking, is actually them making sure they can curate their internet experience, by giving you the chance to be a part of that experience, given you weren’t a transphobe. Because HP itself does not condemn people for their gender nor call for their removal in spaces specifically for their gender, the writer does. The creator is 100% the problem.
People are allowed to post about HP all they want. While HP has other issues beyond it’s creator, such as the antisemitism laced throughout (also at the hands of the creator, fancy that), it is possible for people to enjoy it while standing against the creator. But those who are able to do that, are generally the kind of people who could actually articulate that they do not support JKR. And if you can’t articulate that, then it’s pretty glaringly obvious why that is something you would rather not talk about. And people who enjoy HP, but do not support JKR and would like to ethically consume HP media (without the burden of JKR supporters) are absolutely going to ask if you support JKR when you don’t outright keep HP off your blog.
TLDR: JKR is a pos and has caused unequivocal and irrevocable harm to a minority/marginalized community by using her money and voice to advocate against trans people, and I do not support her. I don’t actually think anyone is a good nor perfect person in the black and white of things. Don’t harass creators who aren’t using their platforms to cause harm to people. I will not be advocating for the removal of any content, because I have a perfectly functional block button and so do you. Make sure to register to vote/vote in your elections. Queer people are not something you can be politically/socially/economically against or for, because queer people exist and deserve to be treated as humans. And uhhh cis/cisgender/cishet aren’t slurs.

It doesn’t matter who you are, what characters you make, or even what you like to make lore of! You will face off against people from across the fandom, and the characters THEY come up with. Before you submit your characters, here’s what you should know about this bracket:

For fairness and transparency in preliminary seeding, characters will be seeded based on the order their forms are received unless a specific preliminary matchup is requested and approved by both sides. DM me on Tumblr or send an ask if you’d like to arrange a matchup. Arranged matchups will be announced.
If you reference other canon Cookies in your character’s lore or backstory (art, siblings, fanchild, etc) or submit an AU character that is based on a canon character (Ex: AU Moonlight Cookie), consider the canon Cookies’ proper pronouns and other canon characteristics before you submit your character.
No NSFW or extreme gore will be permitted. Only very minimal amounts of “strawberry jam” are permitted. What strawberry jam is… is self explanatory.
Teaming is allowed if a matchup ends with a 5% difference or less (limit 45% - 55%) and both sides agree to team up.
Send all your propaganda and additional lore to the blog’s asks, submissions, or tag us on Tumblr with your lore posts. Propaganda art is allowed! Tag us for that too!
Crossover AUs from other series are allowed as long as their lore can seamlessly tie into existing Cookie Run lore. See the Hello Kitty, Sonic, Disney, and BTS crossovers if you’re looking for examples on crossovers in action.
Check your DMs for messages from this blog if action or a response on your part is needed. If a response is not received or receiving a response is not possible for any reason, I will attempt to failsafe the situation myself without your input or disqualify your character(s) immediately.
Draw your own art or sprite edits for your characters. Any kind of media is acceptable (digital, paper/pen, canvas, etc) as long as I know what you’re submitting. Otherwise, provide a source link to the original artist. We can’t judge what we can’t see, and plagiarism and art theft are a MAJOR no-no. Plagiarism or suspected art theft will result in immediate disqualification for all of the offender’s characters. No questions asked.
Your characters should primarily look like Cookies or fit the general style. After all, that’s the whole point of this bracket. Non-Cookie characters can still be submitted (IE Schwarzwälder, Space Doughnut, Sugar Cube Golems, particular Cake Hounds, etc) if they still fit the general art style and you can explain yourself in their lore.
For fairness, I am asking that each person submit no more than THREE (3) characters for the bracket. If you submit a fourth one and I realize, you will be asked to choose which ones you’d like to keep as your entrants. Failsafe Rule: No response? I’ll choose for you.
If this form was not submitted with sufficient details, or if another rule was violated, I reserve the right to deny your submission.
Only one character per form submission. You can submit the form multiple times to the maximum of three characters described in rule 13, but don’t send duplicates. It makes counting harder for me, and it will also get you disqualified.
Patience is a virtue. I’m a human just like you, so there will be things that will slow me down on posting here. Don’t rush me if I do slow down.
If an incident happens or somebody wants to concede from the bracket, inform me of this so that I may consider their removal.
Byes may be awarded if a character is removed before their round is done unless they want to have a stand-in from MY collection take their place.
Once the form closes, I will begin making the tournament bracket and introduction posts based on your own input. If you have any questions, send them my way! If you want me to rattle on about my own OCs and AUs, I’ll gladly do that, as I will not put my own characters into this unless someone requests a removal of their characters to replace them with mine (see rule 16).

The RMS Carpathia was the ship to famously rescue who remained from the Titanic tragedy. I would 100% rec reading up on this ship and her crew, because she's fucking iconic as both a vessel and also for how badass and honorable a good deal of her staffers were. Favorite ship!!!

Telling people to kill themselves, telling people to deactivate, threatening to doxx people, and similar statements towards other voters will result in a block. I try to catch every one of these incidents, but if you're concerned I missed a user please message me privately (I will not respond publicly).
It seems obvious to me and I don't think there has been incidents of that kind yet but it also applies here.
You'd think "don't threaten people" is an obvious tacit rule but I've seen horrors in other polls. If you feel like getting this far, polls are upsetting you far too much and you should step away. Put down your phone and get a glass of water / fresh air and sunlight / food / some sleep / help if you don't feel well and consider filtering tags and blocking me and the people you were about to attack.
I'm also not a fan of (hopefully fake) threats of self-harm. Self-harm is a serious and sensitive subject for quite a few people.
If you joke about it with people you know who know you / your state of mind, that's your problem (and maybe those people's but that's a conversation for another day). It becomes everyone else's problem when you say it to strangers (including kids) on a public platform.
Also, if you did it "just for laughs", please give the matter some more thought, and maybe consider seeking professional help and support, especially if you feel like jokingly threatening your well-being often.
