• Shū would find it nice to have something akin to true family or at least a found family situation, as his actual family is dysfunctional at best.

Reiji:

“Hm, I am grateful for the acknowledgment. I will do my best not to mistake your generosity and kindness.”

• Considering Reiji’s childhood and his absence of motherly and fatherly love, he wouldn’t want to admit he yearned for it.

• This would make him feel uncomfortable as he’s been deprived of it for years— if not centuries.

Ayato:

“Heh, you’ll have to work up to a title like that! But it’s nice! We don’t really see any of this at home, back at my place, so it’s new… I can get used to this!”

• I think he’d be the most optimistic about it, in terms of new beginnings and experiencing what he may have lacked all these years.

• Ayato may have a lingering doubt that this isn’t real, and in turn, is just a whole ploy at him. He gets the uneasiness by the direct comparison of his actual home life and his S/O’s, it’s as if it’s too good to be true.

Kanato:

“Does that mean you’ll make me sweets then…? I won’t call you mother or father, but I’ll tolerate it for my Dolly.”

• He wouldn’t call his S/O’s parents ‘mom’ or ‘dad’ period.

• He may hate his parents, or at least hold some disdain, but he still subconsciously has a direct hold of acknowledging them as his creator and parental unit, despite failing at it.

Laito:

“Why, thank you. I’ll be sure to keep that in mind, I suppose. It’s quite the culture shock around here, fufu.”

• Honestly, same as Kanato, he wouldn’t feel comfortable with engaging in any parental figure and addressing them as the sort. He’s been let down by his father and mother countless times, to the point where he barely finds any meaning in the titles.

• He will find it slightly endearing, and apart of him would wonder if he was truly deserving of this treatment, especially after all the horrible things he’s done in the past. How did it all total up to him getting a ‘good’ ending?

Subaru:

“I… Thank you. I’ll keep that in mind, I guess. Not really used to that treatment, kinda feels a bit off.”

• He’d be the most awkward about this.

• If anything, he’d try his best to be very respectful after their commodity, since he wouldn’t want to intrude so much.

Shu likes knife play. It's slow, doesn't have to be taken to extremes and he can draw out his prey's anxiousness for as long as he likes without killing it.

Reiji likes poisoning. It's quick, effective, and can be done in a marvelously grotesque way if he feels like it - and he doesn't even have to get his hands dirty. He can just sit back and watch it take effect as he calmly finishes his tea (plus it's useful research, what's better than a live test subject?)

Ayato likes the chase. He lets his prey run on and on and on. Every time they slow he jumps out of the shadows and sets them off again. This goes on until the poor girl just collapses of exhaustion (his favourite brides are the ones that keep fighting him off even after the chase, he feels that the struggle makes him want their blood even more).

Kanato likes small objects. He's the most creative with his torture methods, hiding them in unassuming things. Iron nails in your slice of cake so you throw up blood, needles in the bristles of your hairbrush so you scream when he rakes it across your scalp. His favourite thing to do is to stitch your mouth shut and watch you weep in agony as you try to separate your lips.

Laito likes the mental game. Physical pain is fun and all, and he won't hesitate to hurt you in the slightest - but his favourite method of torture is to break your spirit. Unfaithfulness, manipulation, lies - he does it all with so much finesse that you can never tell if his words are innocent or just the beginning of some new manipulation technique he wants to try on you.

Subaru likes choking. There's something so fascinating about wrapping his massive hands around a fragile throat and starting to squeeze, to see their eyes implore at him desperately, their voice thinning to a gasping wheeze - and then that's it. They're dead. He's repulsed with himself afterwards when he sees the ring of bruises he's left around their neck, but he can't find it in himself to stop.

“I love you.”

Three words that have been said a million times before, to a million different girls.

Those words don’t mean much to Laito; what is love other than a four letter word you use to get what you want?

He’s lived by this idea for his entire life, ever since his mother showed him how love was nothing more than pleasure. Something that makes you feel good.

Laito’s lost count of the amount of women he’s seduced and brought back to his bed with these false words, just to feel something. Anything, honestly. He hated being bored.

His brothers think he enjoys this. The flirting, the teasing. And on some level, some physical level, he does. It makes him feel good, so he should enjoy it…

Right…?

Laito doesn’t really feel anything anymore. Sure, he can be satisfied in the basic sense of the word. But, emotionally? 

He doesn’t know. He’s hid from his emotions so much that he can’t tell whether or not what he’s feeling is genuine, or just the mask he’s kept on so long.

Laito knows not to show anyone any part of him that isn’t physical. Feelings, inner thoughts, all of that should be kept hidden. Who knows what could be used against him if were to ever let things show?

He doesn’t want to risk it.

And so, despite the slight inner revulsion that comes from what he’s doing, he’ll continue to do it. He’ll continue to seduce and sleep with women. If not to feel something, then to just keep up the persona he’s so carefully crafted all these years.

He’ll keep the mask on for as long as he can, fixing up any cracks as quickly as possible.

He’ll go through the motions, time and time again, putting on the performance he knows he needs to.

Like ‘lovers’ do.

Sakamaki Brothers Jealousy HC’s

Shū:

• He wouldn’t be as outward with his jealousy, if anything it’d be subdued.

• But if he is jealous, you wouldn’t know it.

• If there’s one thing he’s good at, it’s feigning ignorance and placing a wall.

• Canonically in the HDB and MB Anthropology Manga, Shū gets jealous by stupid things, and is in a sense, comical with it.

• He wouldn’t get fussy like Kanato or Ayato.

• More so annoyed that he’s finding himself attached to someone at this level again.

• All of the boys have a certain level of possessiveness, so it’s not shocking if Shū displays his in lethargic and apathetic fashion.

• He values those close to him, so he wouldn’t want to give away what’s his so quickly. That’s where a lot of the motivation towards being jealous can come from.

Reiji:

• Definitely stern and set with it.

• He takes his jealousy seriously, and wouldn’t want to find himself jealous over anything ‘stupid’ or ‘over the top.’

• Reiji will 100% pull his S/O aside and confront them head on about what bothers him.

• Although, at times he can choose to let it linger, waiting for his S/O to figure out what’s bothering him themselves.

• Almost like a game if anything, all at his S/O’s expense.

• He has no problem with punishing his S/O and blaming them for any unwanted advances or attention being made at them.

• His jealousy is more so triggered by Shū and anything to do with him.

• It sends him into a bit of a frenzy, since it’s all linked to his underlying inferiority complex. Which results in his own diminution of his own talents, which can come off as borderline masochistic.

Ayato:

• You’d know right off the bat if this man was jealous.

• He makes no attempt at concealing his true feelings when it comes to his S/O.

• If he’s upset, don’t be shocked when he does take certain things into his own hands.

• That being, if his S/O is being flirted with in front of him, he has no problem with exhibiting violence to show he possesses someone.

• Ayato is all about possession, and is easily one of the most possessive characters.

• So if he thinks his placement is being threatened, he will react in earnest.

• His jealousy can border the lines of unhealthy and obsessive.

• He’d try his best to resist the urge of marking his prey to showcase his property, but at the end of the day, what good would it do if not even his prey can see the faults?

Kanato:

• Easily one of the most explosive individuals to come into contact with.

• You’re threatening his place in his S/O’s life? It’s like alarms and warning bells going off in his mind.

• Due to his extreme mental instability and heavily implied bipolar disorder, he will switch up instantly if Kanato feels attacked or under heavy scrutiny.

• He has no problem with playing pouty and creating a fuss to appeal towards the ‘lolita’ and ‘cutesy’ side he likes to portray to the outside world.

• But in private? He’s a blamer or victim blamer 100%

• He will pin it all on his S/O, even if the circumstances were unavoidable towards his S/O. Kanato does not care.

• He will get physical. As seen within his routes, he does have temperament issues.

• So even if he does subdue himself from having any physical reactions, his S/O is in no way getting out of the heavy verbal abuse coming their way.

Laito:

• Laito is known to put up a wall, almost like Shū, in terms of concealing his true feelings.

• If he’s jealous, it’ll be in the subtext that one would have to take out to fully understand him.

• Laito is someone who, when jealous, wouldn’t want to admit it.

• With his horrible track record with others, he has a slight fear towards true love and the feelings that come with it.

• So for him being jealous, it would subconsciously tear him apart more than his S/O, if anything. That is, if he was to pursue punishment.

• He’d be sure to make his usual perverse remarks, doing anything to not seek out of the ordinary.

• As seen within his routes, he can switch whenever, keeping the Player and Yui on their toes. Expect that for his S/O.

• He’d keep more of an eye on his S/O, lest he becomes left in the past of his own ghosts and worries. It’ll all come in a full circle with Laito, with whatever he does, he knows to expect it to come back at him. Almost like karma.

Subaru:

• Subaru is quite aggressive. Just as an individual and how he can come off at times with his reactions and over the top emotional moments.

• So he wouldn’t take to it kindly with being placed in a position where he’s to be the jealous one.

• There’s two ways it can go. Either he’s flustered and embarrassed about feeling this type of way for his S/O, or he’s viscerally upset at the notion.

• As an individual, it depends on the situation and if he were to get physical with the person/object that is creating this feeling of jealousy within him.

• He’d subconsciously resent himself for feeling these emotions.

• As if someone like him didn’t have the right to even love, much less feel the need to have ownership over someone who didn’t feel the same way back.

• If he’s questioned about it by his S/O, he’d either respond with anger directed towards them for allowing it, or simply shut off and ignore their complaints/queries.

• Subaru tries to be complicit, but with his internal inferiority complex and hatred towards himself, it acts as a conduit for his conflicting feelings.

Once when his brothers fed him drunk, he confessed to you that he's scared of people burning you on a stake if they ever find out.

-Reacted to the news with polite interest. -Loves making potions with you. -Which is something his brothers absolutely loathe, because now the Sakamaki mansion is permanently filled with all kinds of smells stemming from the ingredients. Kanato especially, is tired of the mushroom and toad smell. -Refrains from asking you to enchant his brothers, even though he does harbor the desire to have them be turnt into the cockroaches he thinks they are. -Except for when it's Shu. S/O Who’s Hard to Piss Off HC’s

Ayato:

• He’ll definitely pester his S/O a lot.

• As in, this is the king of wanting attention and being annoying.

• He may get upset a bit, seeing as he thrives on having a reaction given a lot.

• Take some depictions shown in the anime if anything.

• Ex: When he pesters Yui to make him takoyaki and she doesn’t initially give in.

• Ayato loves the reaction and finds it funny/amusing.

• He may become somewhat fussy about it.

• As in, the bothering will become extended before he gets bored and starts to leave his S/O alone.

• Like imagine going out with him and he sees a perfect time to pester.

• Ex: Carnival wait line.

• Without the reaction he wants, it may annoy him for the moment, before continuing on with his day.

• I think he’d make it his life’s mission to at least gain something rather than nothing.

Kanato:

• He would get upset pretty quickly.

• Especially since most of the time when he aims to annoy, he wants a reaction.

• In all the times he’s done something towards Yui, without anything being shown back to him, he assumes it’s ‘doll-like’ behaviour.

• Or at least an attempt at satiating that interest in him.

• But of course, no reaction in a sense would show that his S/O doesn’t care for him and his needs.

• On the other hand, having an S/O that doesn’t always reply to his antics can be seen as profitable.

• As in, he can get away with more and expect less repercussions.

• He’ll be able to toss them around as a rag doll, and in a sense— have an exemption towards his somewhat abusive tendencies.

• Expect a lot of what he wants to do, and not so much any concerns with whatever his S/O wants to do.

• So tea parties, forced outings, dress up, etc.

• It’ll all be shoved down his S/O’s throat simply because his S/O is condoning it by not giving a reaction to any of it. (That is how he’d see it.)

Laito:

• He wouldn’t be too upset about it.

• Sure, reactions and those getting upset are intriguing and sometimes seen as entertaining for him.

• But really, he’d be the one to applaud his S/O the most with keeping their composure around him.

• Laito knows that it can be hard to show enough self restraint, so he’ll use it as a challenge to see how far he can push his S/O.

• Like everyone, vampires hold certain reactions and emotions towards a different standard.

• So it’s unfair to expect him to simply react like humans would, or alike the other vampires.

• Especially since their type of entertainment is quite different to that of humans/human standards

• He does tend to joke around or make ‘uncomfortable’ jokes towards his S/O, in hopes of obtaining something to find comical.

• So it may actually be toned down because of his S/O’s attitudes towards it.

• One might even say, it may break down Laito into displaying more of his ‘true self,’ as the normal antics he’d entertain is no longer working on individuals.

• It may serve as a learning lesson to him that his false persona may not appeal to everyone, and even he must understand that there’s more to him than surface level ‘pervert Laito.’

Kou:

• With Kou the dynamic is much more interesting.

• Because of his ‘all seeing eye’ or ‘truth seeing eye,’ he can pinpoint exactly what his S/O is feeling and if it’s true.

• He’s normally someone who’s seen to joke around with others and find fun in things.

• Kind of like Laito with the double personalities, and attitudes surrounding certain aspects of their lives.

• But even with that, he may do more to gain a reaction.

• He has split feelings about being human, or an ex-human— so as a half-blood, I’ll take it that he’s adapted to the way vampires or pure bloods would think.

• He may at the start of the relationship, assume that somethings wrong with his S/O— or that they’re mad at him.

• But once he gets acquainted— with that being his S/O’s natural nuanced reaction to things, he may do more and get out of his own comfort zone to see if anything would phase them.

• Since he believes in the entire ‘give and take’ analogy— he may be annoyed that it takes a lot of him ‘giving’ something (ex: putting in energy) to get something in return for him to ‘take’ (a reaction.)

• But overall I don’t see him complaining too much, only if he’s in one of his fussy moods.

🎬 Constantly tapping her heel on the floorboards, awaiting a the clocks hand ticked again, and again, and again. The seconds going by slow, the minutes; even slower. Blinks of battered lashes became strenuous, and nails grazed clenched palms, threatening to bruise.

🎬 Her breath would stiffen, her body; host an unmarked tremble. She’d been used to the cold nights, and the even colder times spent alone. Waiting. Waiting for her father, the nuns, someone to pay her any mind.

🎬 Yui couldn’t tell how long had passed, her thoughts and visions consumed with seeing one fated man. Like a predator stalking its prey, she sat in anticipation.

🎬 Food was prepared, the table was set. Warmth dulled down to cool and cold as a hesitant smile stayed plastered upon her face.

🎬 She waited. Until the girl was far too tired to continue. And despite it all, with her eyes threatening to close shut, her tapping becoming slowed, and her fists unclenching by the second, she sat with her sulking posture up against the wooden chair.

🎬 With a slight prayer, her hands would clasp in front of her in a desperate plea. Like a proud and obedient devotee, never could she understand why her god dejected her cries, ignored her woes, laughed at her misfortunate sorrows.

Choosing Eve

This is not the first time this has happened.

He had tried before of course, this was a failed attempt.

Cordelia was supposed to be Eve at least it is assumed, however, Karl found that she had no redeeming qualities and discarded her as a possibility and instead focused on a new way of inventing Eve.

This Adam and Eve project was only created so he could die, at least according to what Cordelia has stated.

He of course needs his sons to obtain power from the sacrificial bride to do this, but each one has not succeded.

Of course, this doesn't mean that Karl hasn't thought of the qualities needed for one to become Eve.

Unmistakably she couldn't have traits or similar qualities to those of any demon race except for having advantages such as supernatural powers.

Apart from this, he presumes Eve to be a woman of good morals, something so pure and selfless.

Yet, he'd have "Eve" be entangled with evil of course for the sake of tradition and following the usual plot we see in terms of biblical stories.

Although he wouldn't go out of his way to selectively choose, since we see that in the show Yui wasn't chosen. At least they claim.

However, the church gave her up which means, church must be doing Karl's bidding.

Assuming this, it doesn't surprise me if Karl has only given his son's church girls since he may believe religious people to be the ones with the best morals and the kindest hearts.

Given the way a good experiment should run, this would be considered a good sample representative if he were selecting a large group. However, the design of his study is much smaller so he wouldn't need a sample. Still his choosing of subjects and participants are coming from a place that would seem most appropriate. He wants someone with good morals he selects people who believe in faith.

And working with the church he asks them to only donate the women who are most pious. Of course, they get something in return for such work.

Thus, this makes Yui a candidate for Karl's absurd experiment.

• Kanato will throw a tantrum over this, so it will take him some time emotionally to recover from the loss.

• Due to his abandonment issues, Kanato keeps people close, always with the underlying fear that they may leave. So this may have only worsened them.

Laito:

“Fufu~ Woman are quite self serving, aren’t they? Perhaps she’s found herself new boy toys to satisfy her… Not to worry, she’ll be back. She has to be.”

• He’ll be really ominous about how he truly feels on the ordeal.

• Laito won’t outright say how he’s feeling, but it will be a mix of betrayal (in a sense,) and slight anger. It all stems back from inferiority complexes, and with trauma, how those elevate themselves to be perceived as anything other than that.

Subaru:

“Tch! She left…! They always do… Maybe, this was for the better. At least now, wherever she is, she’ll be safe…”

• Subaru would be upset, of course, and will destroy things in a rage.

• But he will be the most empathetic one of the brothers, and understand that if Yui didn’t leave, she would have died later on. Basically in her doing what he suggested at the start, Subaru can’t get as mad.
