•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ Greetings! I am known as Sir Ophirael the Third, though Sir Ophirael shall suffice
I use he/they pronouns, and I operate as an adult, quietly "undercover" fan-artist. My identity shall remain undisclosed; whether it is guessed or not, or finally discovered who I truly am, is of little concern to me. I am here simply to share the works born of my current fixations, freely, without restraint, and separated from my main or other works. So, if you have managed to determine who I am, congratulations. And now? What, precisely, do you intend to do with that knowledge?
Though primarily an artist, I do wander into writing on occasion, crafting fanworks whenever inspiration strikes! I consider myself a multishipper/fandoms, though my focus rests most heavily upon Zoophobia, Vivziepop’s webcomic [ or as of currently, a later mini-series! ]
From time to time, I indulge in redesigning and reinterpreting characters from Zoophobia, purely for my own personal enjoyment
I also, with no small measure of pride, claim the title of CEO of Zill X Jack [ also known as Luckycharm! ]. It is a pairing I hold in great affection, and, quite frankly, the scarcity of content for it is the main reason this blog, and several of my other ventures, came to exist! So expect more content of them!

•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ DNI [ Do Not Interact ] :

•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ FAQ :
🌟 ↦ “Is it alright to repost or use your redesigns/works?”
✨ ↳ Certainly, provided proper credit is given, and done so visibly. Use in ships is acceptable, and so long as it does not involve problematic, fetishes, or proship/darkship content, you're good
🌟 ↦ “May I create fanart of your redesigns?”
✨ ↳ Absolutely, I would be delighted to see it! Mild suggestive themes are also acceptable, but do exercise restraint
🌟 ↦ “Is creating NSFW content of your redesigns okay with you?”
✨ ↳ Ehhh… Sure, I suppose- just keep it to yourself. And I will be clear again: do not involve anything problematic in relation to my work, especially fetishes
🌟 ↦ “Can I take inspiration from your works?”
✨ ↳ Of course- again, with appropriate credit
🌟 ↦ ”Is fanart of your “star fella” allowed?“
✨ ↳ Naturally. I would very much enjoy seeing it. Again, mild suggestive themes are also acceptable, but do exercise restraint. And again, NO fetishes or problematic involved, as that is my persona
🌟 ↦ ”May I ship your “star fella” with others?“
✨ ↳ Yes, I hold no objections, so long as the ship remains free of problematic elements, including don't ship him with underage characters. Selfships/yumeships are permitted, though I will not be interacting with them
•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ MY INBOXS ARE CURRENTLY OPEN!
I am open to questions and requests!
What, then, may you ask? The answer is simple. You are welcome to inquire about my headcanons, my perspectives on ships and related matters, any details concerning my redesigns and rewrite, or anything, really. You may also direct questions to my rewritten Zoophobia characters themselves, like in the manner of an ask blog; I consider that format engaging and worth exploring! [ e.g., "what's your favorite color, Zill?". Although only asking characters that I have already redesigned though ] It allows me to better understand and think more deeply about my rewritten Zoophobia characters, particularly in shaping how they should behave within my own interpretation
As for requests, you may suggest what I should draw, including ships; though I will decide based on whether I personally favor them. You may also request writing, with the understanding that I am most inclined toward Zill × Jack content
•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ You are free to ask or request broadly, but there are firm boundaries. I will not engage with anything problematic, political, or otherwise uncomfortable to me
Regarding mature topics: you may ask or request written material, depending on my level of comfort with the subject. However, I will not create NSFW artwork under any circumstance
•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ And another thing to be clear, you are not limited to Zoophobia. Requests and questions beyond it are entirely acceptable!
•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ That shall be all for now. Should you have further inquiries, feel free to leave them below; I will answer in due time!
•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ Alright alright, I am aware that I have been absent for roughly three weeks and one day. This month has been crowded with projects, and my time has been accordingly occupied. That said, I do intend to post something soon, I promise! 🙏
Now, to the point- apparently Zoophobia is set to receive a MINI-SERIES??? That is what I have been told, and I am not taking it LIGHTLY. If this holds true, then yes, I am GENUINELY excited, primarily for the prospect of more Zill and Jack content, PLEASE 🙏🙏🙏
However, I will be direct: I expect the writing to be handled with care. Given the well-known issues with plot inconsistencies in works like Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, and considering the original Zoophobia webcomic’s own lack of structural cohesion, there is valid reason for concern. I want this adaptation or reboot to be coherent, deliberate, and properly executed!
Even so, my anticipation remains! I am looking forward to it more than I would like to admit! 🥹
[ I took this screenshot from a TikTok video my friend sent me ]
•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ EDIT : Okay, found the full video, and if you wanna watch it, here it is [ The Zoophobia part starts at 1:08:50, I think ]
•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ My apologies for my recent absence over the past few days. I have been fully occupied with writing a proper fanfiction; my first serious attempt in years. It began as something purely for enjoyment, but the concept itself proved engaging enough that I felt compelled to see it through with care.
Now, allow me to be direct; are you interested in Zill × Jack? In a portrayal of Zill as a yandere? In a dynamic built on mutual longing, where affection exists, yet one side of that love is undeniably unhealthy? If so, then this work will likely appeal to you!
I chose to explore yandere characterization deliberately. It is a dynamic I find compelling, and I wanted to approach it not casually, but with intention. Zill, in particular, lends himself well to such a portrayal, and I found the idea worth pursuing!
In any case, I hope you enjoy what I have written. I will be taking a brief hiatus, approximately two or few weeks, from writing! Completing those two chapters alone required nearly a full week of focused effort, and I intend to return to drawing as well!

•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ I am presently occupied with writing a Zill × Jack/Luckycharm fanfiction. However, I recently came across a pair of doodles of the two, and I am choosing to share them without hesitation. I genuinely adore them. They're so gay... <3
I genuinely wish to determine where those two doodles originally came from; however, I have yet to find any credible source or information regarding their origin sadly.
I cannot confirm whether those doodles were drawn by Viz herself; however, that uncertainty does nothing to lessen my regard for them. I love those two pieces all the same.
•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ Good heavens- you have been an absolute lifesaver. Thank you for providing the full image; it is sincerely appreciated, especially as someone who is deeply invested in & deeply adored Zill ×/& Jack 🙏🙏🥹

•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ LUCKYCHARM ANGST HEADCANONS ! ! !
1. Jack Can’t Shake the Feeling That Zill Deserves Someone Better
Jack harbours a quiet, unwavering belief that Zill deserves someone far better than himself; someone brighter, gentler, unmarked by the chaos that seems to follow in his wake. It is not something he ever dares to say aloud, yet it reveals itself all the same: in the hesitation of his gaze, in the pauses that linger just a moment too long, in the subtle way his shoulders draw inward as though in apology for simply being.
Zill, of course, notices. He always does. The flinches are too telling, the distance too deliberate to ignore. And rather than dismiss it, he meets it head-on, with intention. Zill does not argue loudly, nor does he force reassurance upon Jack in grand, hollow gestures. Instead, he commits himself to something far more persistent. He stays. He repeats. He proves.
Hours are spent quietly unravelling every thread of doubt Jack clings to. Each touch is purposeful, never careless. Each word is chosen with care, never wasted. There is a steadiness to it, a quiet insistence that does not waver: I chose you. I continue to choose you. There is no one else.
It becomes, in its own way, a gentle war; one fought not with force, but with patience. And Zill wages it with unwavering devotion, ensuring that, little by little, Jack can no longer mistake the truth of his place at Zill’s side.
2. Apologies in the Wake of Falling
Zill has long worn his resilience as one might wear finely tempered armour; polished, reliable, and ever-expected. It is not simply a habit he falls into, but a role he has come to embody entirely. Strength, for him, is not optional; it is the very foundation upon which he believes he is valued.
So when that composure finally splinters in Jack’s presence, it does not arrive as relief. It feels like failure, sharp, disorienting, and deeply unwelcome. His voice falters, not solely from the weight of emotion, but from the quiet sting of shame that follows it. Apologies spill from him in uneven succession, as though he must make amends for being seen in such a vulnerable state at all.
He avoids Jack’s gaze, unable to bear the thought of what might be reflected there. In his mind, something vital has come undone, something that should have remained intact. And beneath the surface of it all lies a far more unsettling fear, one he scarcely dares to confront: if it was his strength that made him worthy of love, then what, exactly, is left of him now that it has faltered?
3. Zill Loses Control Sometimes, and Jack Is the Only One Who Can Ground Him
There are moments when Zill feels himself unraveling, when his thoughts spiral and the control he clings to over his own power thins to a mere whisper. It never creeps in gradually- no, it strikes suddenly, sharp and suffocating, leaving him teetering on the edge of himself. And yet, in the midst of that storm, Jack remains a constant; singular, unyielding, quietly present. He is neither loud nor insistent, but simply there, in a way that slices clean through the chaos and anchors Zill to the moment.
Zill cannot always fathom why it works, why Jack’s voice, his touch, even the mere certainty of his presence, can draw him back when nothing else can, but he clings to it all the same. It is unnerving, this reliance, this fragile tether to another soul, and yet he does not fight it. The unsettling truth lingers: his world, his control, his balance, it can pivot entirely on this one person. And that is just both terrifying and unbearably necessary for Zill.
[I suppose it comes down to years, years of growing up side by side, of witnessing each other’s triumphs and failures, of watching one another change, stumble, and grow. That shared history forges a bond few can break, and it is precisely why Jack can stop Zill without hesitation, even without questions. Their connection is profound, rooted in a familiarity and understanding that goes beyond words. Jack knows it- intimately, and it is that knowledge, that quiet certainty, that gives him the power to reach Zill when no one else can, heh]
4. Jack Quietly Blames Himself Every Time Zill Gets Hurt By His Bad Luck
Even in the quietest, most intimate moments of their bond, Jack flinches the instant Zill suffers even the slightest injury. Zill’s strength and resilience render these wounds almost trivial to any outside eye, but not to Jack. In an instant, his mind vaults to a single, relentless verdict: this is my fault. Every bruise, every scratch, is a private indictment, a silent verdict pronounced by his own conscience, reminding him that someone he holds dear has been harmed, in some measure, because of him.
He buries this guilt deep, cloaking it beneath a careful veneer of calm, for he will not allow Zill to shoulder it alongside him. Jack’s silence is intentional, almost militant; he endures the ache alone rather than risk Zill’s worry or endless reassurances. It is a cruelty of the gentlest kind, self-inflicted yet born entirely of love, a protective isolation he imposes upon himself. And still, despite the control he wields, it gnaws at him relentlessly, a quiet torment too precise, too sharp to ever fully articulate.
5. Jack Has a Bad Habit of Putting Himself in Danger for Zill
Jack has cultivated a perilous habit, an instinct that flares the moment Zill steps too close to danger. Without hesitation, he throws himself between harm and the one he loves, as though mere presence could rewrite fate. Immortality has done him no favors; centuries have carved recklessness into his bones, fostering a false sense of invulnerability that makes him act first and think later.
Zill despises it. Not because Jack cannot survive- he can, again and again, but because no measure of time, no endurance of flesh or spirit, justifies courting suffering. Jack may shrug off pain, may laugh it away, but Zill sees through the façade. He cannot abide by watching the person he cherishes throw himself heedlessly into danger, as though life itself were a game to be toyed with, and suffers terrible pain from it.
And so their lives are bound in tension, a constant push and pull. Jack, drawn instinctively toward peril, fueled by his impulsive courage. Zill, compelled by love and fury alike, striving to shield him, to hold him back, to prove that devotion is stronger than any foolish bravado. Their friction is relentless, raw, and passionate: one cannot stop seeking danger, the other cannot stand idly by.
6. They Keep Getting Into Arguments About Who Should Be Protecting Who
Their fiercest clashes always boil down to a single, uncompromising question: Who is responsible for whom? Jack, indomitable and seemingly unbreakable, will insist with relentless certainty, “I can’t die.” And yet Zill, mortal but fiercely unyielding in his care, counters sharply, almost with righteous force: “That doesn’t mean you should get hurt!”
Their words strike each other like flint to steel; bright, scorching, impossible to ignore, laden with fear, frustration, and the stubborn pride each refuses to abandon. There is no hesitation in their conviction; neither yields, neither softens. And yet, when the storm passes, they cannot bear the space between them. Anger dissolves as if it had never existed. Hands find each other, bodies press together, tension giving way to the undeniable pull of devotion.
These conflicts, fierce and unavoidable as they are, serve a purpose deeper than the quarrel itself. They are rituals in a way, stern yet intimate, a testament to the delicate equilibrium they navigate: love entwined with fear, protection balanced with pride, passion tempered by trust. In every argument, in every fiery exchange, their bond is reaffirmed, not in words alone, but in the steadfast, unspoken promise that neither will face the world entirely alone.
7. Jack Notices the Things Zill Doesn’t Say Out Loud
Zill begins to perceive it in fragments, sharp and undeniable: the way Jack anticipates his silences before they even settle, the subtle inflections that shift when his mood darkens, the almost preternatural precision with which he deciphers what Zill refuses to voice. It is not invasive, far from it. There is a care in it, a reverence, and that is precisely what makes it so disarming. To be understood without explanation, to have the unspoken mirrored back so effortlessly, is a dangerous kind of exposure.
Zill finds himself unsteady under it. He is unused to being observed with such uncompromising clarity, where nothing; no hesitation, no flicker of emotion, no carefully hidden thought, is overlooked. It forces him into a constant negotiation with himself, a questioning of boundaries he has long taken for granted. Should he lean closer, let the connection deepen? Or should he retreat, guard up, and preserve the familiar walls he has always relied upon?
Under Jack’s gaze, nothing remains trivial, and Zill cannot deny the thrill, and the terror, of being seen so completely. It is a confrontation with truth, unflinching and unapologetic, but beneath it all, there is a pull that demands he does not turn away.
8. Jack Has Nightmares About Losing Zill [And Tries to Hide It]
Jack’s nightmares are not mere shadows of fear; they are precise, unrelenting reenactments of the one fate he cannot bear. In them, Zill is not simply harmed; he is obliterated, wrenched away by the inescapable curse that Jack has long since learned to fear. Each dream strikes with brutal clarity, and each ends the same: Jack jerking awake, a sharp cry tearing from him, lungs trembling, grief clinging to his chest as if it were flesh and blood.
He tries, with all his will, to contain it, to lock it behind walls of composure. Yet the body is a traitor. Even in the supposed sanctuary of Zill’s arms, during the fragile quiet of shared sleep, his panic seeps through. Excuses tumble clumsily from his lips, half-formed, weak deflections meant to mask the terror he cannot speak aloud. But Zill does not need persuasion, and he does not demand it. He meets Jack’s unrest with something firmer than words: deliberate tenderness, quiet reassurances, a trail of gentle kisses along the face and neck, anchoring Jack to the present, to reality.
And slowly the tension recedes. The nightmare’s grip loosens. Sleep returns, steadier now, steadied not by absence of fear, but by the certainty of Zill’s closeness. Jack learns, night after night, nightmares after nightmares, that even the darkest visions cannot claim him when this quiet fortress of care holds firm.
9. Zill Is Secretly Afraid Jack Will Leave Him “For His[Zill] Own Good”
Zill does not fear the outside world as most might. He faces threats, danger, and the unpredictable chaos surrounding them with calm precision, he can endure, he can fight, he can survive. What terrifies him is far quieter, far more insidious. It is the thought that Jack might one day decide he is too much, too burdensome, too dangerous to keep close, and, not out of anger or resentment, but from a misguided sense of mercy, choose to leave.
This is the fear Zill never speaks of, the one that threads itself beneath his steady exterior. It shapes every deliberate choice he makes, every careful step he takes in preserving what they share. Misfortune, no matter how brutal or relentless, is met head-on; not merely to shield Jack from harm, but to leave no room, not the smallest fraction, for doubt about his place by Jack’s side. Zill’s vigilance is absolute; his devotion is unshakable. He does not gamble with their bond, because in his mind, losing Jack is the one danger he cannot endure.
10. Zill Pretends to Hate How Easily Jack Reads Him [But Relies on It Anyway]
There’s a particular frustration in how easily Jack reads him, as though Zill’s carefully constructed walls are little more than glass. He resents it in quiet, fleeting bursts, the predictability, the lack of control. And yet, when the tension tightens and words fail him, he finds himself leaning into that very understanding. Jack knows when to press, when to hold back, when to simply remain. Zill would never confess how much he depends on that instinct, how often he lets himself be guided without protest. It is a contradiction he carries without resolution, equal parts irritation and necessity.
•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ I do hope at least one of them managed to strike your fancy. I made a sincere effort to capture that particular emotional edge, and I think I succeeded rather well.
Should you wish to see more of my Luckycharm headcanons, be they steeped in angst, sweetness, or anything in between, do feel entirely free to ask, and I shall happily oblige! I find a great deal of enjoyment in writing them; it helps me better understand the intricacies of Zill and Jack’s dynamic, and, if anything, only deepens my fondness for them all the more!
And of course, if you would prefer headcanons beyond Luckycharm [Zill x Jack], I am more than open to that as well!
Originally, I had intended to present her alongside the other last two main characters I will later redesign, but I found myself far too eager, there is simply too much I wish to share, and so I offer her now!
To begin with, I leaned more heavily into her kangaroo nature, for, truthfully, had one not known better, she might easily have been mistaken for some manner of fox in her original design. This time, I grounded her more firmly in her species. She draws inspiration from the red kangaroo—more specifically the so-called “blue flyer,” the softer-toned female variation, which, for reasons I cannot entirely articulate, felt remarkably fitting for her!
[ NOTE : Okay I just found out she's actually and canonically a red kangaroo from her old reference sheet... Well, I told y'all I know my characters better even without knowing it's actually canon- ]
I also explored two distinct colorations: one that remains closer to her original palette, and another that more faithfully reflects her real-world inspiration. After much deliberation [and an impressive amount of indecision among my friends and I], we arrived at a rather whimsical conclusion; she would possess a seasonal shift in coloration, shedding between tones for summer and winter. While not entirely accurate to reality, I believe such liberties are more than acceptable within the peculiar, magical nature of Zoophobia!
As for her accessories, each was chosen with some intention. The blue star-shaped hair clips lend her a subtle, youthful charm while echoing her role as a “star” performer. The trio of blue ear piercings adds a touch of modern flair, hinting at her confidence and social ease. The ribbon tied neatly around her tail offers a gentle, almost romantic softness, reflecting her affectionate nature. Lastly, the arm warmers provide both visual balance and a sense of casual practicality, something that suits her active, disciplined lifestyle?
And with that, I believe I have said all that needs saying. I do hope you find this redesign to your liking because I personally liked it myself!
[ Oh yeah, Kayla is 18 in here. ]

•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ Here are a few Zill × Jack/Luckycharm doodles, most inspired by ideas from three dear friends of mine, before I turn my attention to redesigning the other three main characters.
•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ A rathe freaky warning applies to this one below…
Quiznos: I command you to have a hot makeout session with zill
Jack: oooouuu oh no zill what is happening I can't stop it
Zill: he can't even control minds what the fuck is wrong with you
•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ I’m not entirely sure what’s happening, nor why you wrote it and sent this to me… yet I must admit, I find it thoroughly entertaining! It even drew a small giggle from me.
I'm curious about the ship name "luckycharms" cuz it's undoubtedly very jack but I can't really figure out what part of the name is "zill" yk what I mean.
image attached because this is an actual real drawing by vivziepop and it's not very well known and I felt like you had 2 see it. Everybody knows about the art where theyre drunk, but that is NOT what is happening here LOL.
•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ The ship name “Luckycharms” is a bit unconventional; it doesn’t stem from literally embedding “Zill” into the name. Rather, it is symbolic, capturing the essence of Jack and Zill’s relationship.
The “Lucky” obviously points to Jack, but in a deliciously ironic way. Jack is notoriously unlucky, constantly tumbling into chaos, mishaps, and danger. Here, “Lucky” isn’t about fortune, it’s a nod to the ironic rhythm of his life, the perpetual swirl of misadventure that defines him.
The “Charm” is where Zill steps in, both figuratively and quite literally. Zill functions as Jack’s living good luck charm: he intervenes in moments of peril, shields Jack from harm, and keeps his world from unraveling completely. His unwavering courage, steadfast loyalty, and calming presence are not mere personality traits, they are the stabilizing “charm” that counterbalances Jack’s chaos. Whenever Jack stumbles, Zill is the anchor, the protector, the mitigating force that turns calamity into something bearable.
Thus, the name achieves a perfect poetic balance: Jack embodies misfortune, while Zill embodies protection and reliability. Without Zill, Jack’s “luck” would be meaningless; with him, he is truly lucky, and Zill is the charm that makes it so.
In short, the “charm” is no arbitrary label, it is a recognition of Zill’s fearless guardianship, his constant stabilizing presence, and his role in transforming Jack’s relentless chaos into moments of true fortune. That is the heart, and the beauty, of “Luckycharms.”
One might say he resembles something akin to a guardian angel, in a sense…
So, in short: the “Zill” in Luckycharms embodies the “Charm.” I do hope that sufficiently answers your question, and perhaps anyone else’s curiosity as to why I chose such a name!
•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ Ah, and as for that delightfully risqué gay art between Zill and Jack crafted by the creator herself you showed… Do you think I’m not desperate enough for Zill × Jack content to have stumbled upon it? Naturally, yes, I have seen it firsthand! They are utterly, gloriously gay, I swear… and I can hardly believe it isn’t nearly as renowned as the famous “drunk” piece one 💔
Anyways, I adore that art piece, I really need more of those two being gay
Well, I certainly wouldn’t mind sharing a few of my own headcanons regarding Zill × Jack. I have written quite a number of them, so I suppose it is about time I revealed some.
They are rather detailed, I just do enjoy putting care into what I write, especially when it comes to explaining how my headcanons work and the little ideas behind them.
That said, they may feel somewhat scattered and a bit random. Most of them lean toward fluff, though there may be the occasional hint of something suggestive, along with a touch of angst here and there.
In any case… here are 10 of my headcanons for them! [warning: very, VERY long reading]
•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ HEADCANONS ! ! !
1. Zill Was the One Who Confessed First
If one were to ask who fell first, the answer would unquestionably be Jack.
He noticed it gradually, the way Zill’s voice lingered in his thoughts longer than it should have, the way his laughter seemed far too important, the way the world became suspiciously brighter whenever Zill entered a room. Yet Jack, tragically and predictably, would never confess such feelings of his own accord. He is far too cautious for that, unfortunately.
To Jack, their friendship was something delicate and irreplaceable. The mere possibility of damaging it with something as reckless as a confession was enough to keep his feelings firmly buried. So he endured it quietly, convincing himself that silence was the safer option. Better to suffer in secret than risk losing Zill altogether.
Zill, however, is not a creature built for quiet suffering.
The moment the realization struck him, that unmistakable, slightly terrifying understanding that he was, in fact, in love with Jack, he did NOT hesitate for even a moment. No contemplation, no careful planning. He simply acted.
Which is precisely how Jack ended up being shaken awake one evening by Zill storming into his room from his window, grabbing his face rather abruptly, and blurting out:
“Jack, I love you.”
Jack, still half-asleep and thoroughly disoriented, required a considerable amount of time to determine whether this was reality or some particularly elaborate dream.
Meanwhile Zill, now fully aware of what he had just said, began speaking at an increasingly frantic pace, rambling about how he should have realised it sooner, how obvious it all seemed in hindsight, and so on.
Jack never quite remembers the exact moment he managed to respond.
But somehow, rather wonderfully, they ended up dating<3
2. Zill Is Almost Absurdly Physically Affectionate
Even before their relationship changed, Zill had always been rather comfortable with casual closeness.
Nothing particularly scandalous, just the small, harmless gestures people rarely question. Sitting shoulder to shoulder. Their hands brushing together when they walked side by side. An arm slung around Jack’s shoulders. Leaning against him during quiet moments.
Perfectly normal behaviour.
Or so Zill insisted.
Once they began dating, however, the situation escalated rather dramatically.
Zill now treats physical affection as a perfectly reasonable pastime. He drapes himself over Jack whenever the opportunity presents itself, hugs him from behind without warning, casually intertwines their fingers while walking down hallways, and occasionally wraps his wings around Jack like a particularly affectionate blanket.
And, perhaps most dangerously of all, Zill has discovered that these gestures make Jack turn an impressive shade of red.
Naturally, he now does it on purpose lol
3. Jack Is Still Hopeless at Initiating Affection
Despite being in a perfectly happy relationship, Jack remains deeply, tragically awkward when it comes to initiating affection.
The desire is certainly there.
Unfortunately, the execution is… less successful.
More often than not, Jack will approach Zill with the vague intention of hugging him, only to lose confidence halfway through and simply linger nearby in a rather obvious manner. He hovers awkwardly, pretending to be interested in something else while clearly hoping Zill will notice.
And fortunately, Zill always does.
With a small, knowing smile, he simply pulls Jack into the hug himself, saving them both from Jack’s prolonged internal struggle.
Considering that Zill is Jack’s first relationship, Zill is remarkably patient about the whole thing.
It did not take long for Zill to discover one of Jack’s most devastating weaknesses in just a week into their relationship.
Quite by accident, during a quiet moment together, Zill absentmindedly scratched behind Jack’s ear.
The result was immediate and unmistakable.
Jack froze, then visibly melting into the sensation with the sort of quiet contentment that suggested this was a deeply effective tactic.
Zill, of course, noticed, and now he uses this knowledge with strategic precision. Whenever Jack is stressed, frustrated, or lost in his thoughts, Zill simply reaches over and scratches behind his ears.
The effect is nearly instantaneous, Jack relaxes every single time.
5. Zill Tends to Take the Lead Whenever They Kiss
When it comes to kissing, Jack is… admittedly inexperienced.
This is not a flaw, merely a fact.
Zill, on the other hand, has had enough romantic experience in the past to understand what he’s doing, and so he naturally takes the lead most of the time.
Jack tends to hesitate, uncertain about when the moment is appropriate or what exactly he should do. Zill rarely shares this uncertainty.
He simply leans in, closes the distance, and guides Jack through the moment with gentle confidence.
Over time Jack improves, of course.
But Zill still rather enjoys being the one who starts it.
6. Zill Loves Giving Jack Small Good-Luck Charms
Zill has a curious habit of giving Jack little objects he claims are “good-luck charms.”
They are rarely anything grand. Small trinkets, odd tokens, sometimes things that appear entirely random. A smooth stone, a random ribbon, a tiny charm he found somewhere.
Each one comes with a confident assurance that it will help protect Jack from misfortune.
Jack doesn’t truly believe they possess any magical properties. He is, after all, quite familiar with the stubborn persistence of his curse.
And yet, he keeps every single one. Carefully stored, never discarded.
Because even if the charms themselves hold no power, the intention behind them certainly does.
And that, to Jack, means far more than any good luck.
7. Zill Occasionally Slips Into Spanish When He’s Being Affectionate
Zill has a peculiar habit of switching languages whenever he becomes particularly fond of someone.
In Jack’s case, this means that moments of affection are frequently accompanied by soft phrases in Spanish. Murmured compliments, gentle reassurances, and the occasional teasing remark delivered with far too much warmth for Jack to properly process.
Jack, unfortunately, does not speak Spanish.
At least, not officially.
However, through sheer exposure, and the rather obvious tone Zill uses when saying them, Jack has gradually pieced together the meanings of several phrases. He may not be able to translate them word for word, but he understands enough to recognise when Zill is being sweet, when he’s being playful, and when he’s very clearly flirting.
There are still moments, of course, when Zill leans close and murmurs something particularly affectionate that leaves Jack staring at him with mild confusion and a rapidly reddening face.
Zill never really translates those. He seems to enjoy the mystery far too much.
8. Rusty Dislikes Seeing Them Together
Rusty has never been particularly fond of their relationship.
The reason is not subtle.
Every single time Rusty attempts to make a remark, especially the sort of remark he is known for, Zill reacts with immediate and unwavering protectiveness.
It is almost instinctive.
A sarcastic comment from Rusty will earn him a sharp look. A rude remark about Jack will earn him an even sharper response. And if Rusty pushes his luck too far, Zill has absolutely no hesitation in stepping between them with a unmistakably serious warning.
Jack, meanwhile, finds the entire situation deeply awkward.
Zill, on the other hand, seems entirely unbothered.
Rusty eventually learned that teasing Jack becomes considerably less entertaining when Zill is present (ever since they started dated)
Which is precisely why he dislikes seeing them together so much.
9. Jack Cooks for Zill [Constantly]
Jack happens to be an excellent cook.
It is one of the quieter skills he possesses, something he developed out of simple practicality rather than any desire to impress anyone. He definitely did learned it from his mother, of course! Cooking is calming for him; a steady, predictable process that allows his mind to settle.
Zill discovered this fact quite early. And, naturally, he has taken full advantage of it ever since. (He just absolutely loves Jack's foods)
It has become somewhat of a routine for Zill to appear at Jack’s home with suspiciously perfect timing, usually around dinner, leaning casually in the doorway as if he had been invited all along.
“So,” Zill will say with complete confidence, “what are we eating tonight?”
Jack always rolls his eyes at this behaviour.
He may sigh. He may complain. On rare occasions he may even attempt to pretend he had not planned to cook anything elaborate.
But Zill inevitably ends up sitting at the table anyway, watching Jack work in the kitchen with a content expression.
And Jack always makes enough for two.
10. Cooking Is Also Jack’s Way of Taking Care of Zill
When Zill is having a difficult day, which kinda leads to him not properly eating healthy, Jack rarely says much about it.
He is not particularly skilled at comforting words. Grand gestures are not his style either. Expressing affection verbally is still something he finds slightly unfamiliar.
But there is one thing he does know how to do.
If Zill has had a rough day, if he seems quieter than usual, more tired than he lets on, Jack will simply begin cooking.
No announcement. No explanation.
He prepares Zill’s favourite meals with careful attention, making sure everything is exactly right. By the time Zill notices what is happening, the kitchen already smells warm and inviting.
Zill understands the message immediately.
Jack may not always know how to say “I care about you.”
But somehow, through the quiet act of cooking something comforting and setting a plate in front of him, he manages to say it perfectly anyway.
And Zill appreciates it more than Jack realises :)
•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ And that is all for the moment. I do hope you enjoyed them! I would not claim to be particularly skilled at crafting headcanons, my mind is often a doubtful, tangled place, so I truly hope at least a few of them were to your liking.
I do have several more ideas in mind, though I’d rather not stretch this post any longer than it already is. If there’s interest, I could certainly make a Part 2 and share ten more of my Zill × Jack headcanons. Do let me know if that’s something you’d like to see.
As a small bonus, here’s a little doodle of the two of them being adorable together!
•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ And of course, if any of you have headcanons of your own for this ship, please feel free to share them! I would absolutely love to read them, whether in the comments or in your own posts!!!
Oh, you have no notion of how deeply I adored Zoophobia/Bad Luck Jack… It is truly a pity that such a chaotic little masterpiece now lies abandoned by its own creator
For the sake of my own amusement, I took it upon myself to redesign the two. Zill, in my rendition, has become a curious amalgamation of dragon, snake, and demon (mostly dragon though), an odd combination, perhaps, but one that felt strangely fitting. I also warmed the tone of his skin somewhat; in my mind, he seems the sort who spends plenty of time wandering the world beyond sheltered corners. And as a small detail, the snake that forms his tail is now a Green Whip Snake
As for my dear Jack, I envisioned him as a hybrid of a golden jackal and an Airedale terrier. I allowed him a handful of healed scars, marks that stubbornly remain visible despite the passage of time. I also gave him a pair of glasses, which, to me, suits his character rather well, along with a cleft lip to add a bit more individuality to his design.
That is about all I can properly explain for now. I hope you like them! I am hardly the most accomplished designer, but I had a great deal of fun with it regardless
[ Forgot to mention, I age them both up a bit, Jack is 18 and Zill is 19 now. ]
•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ Oh, and a few little doodles of them together on a ice cream date ! 💕 [Yes, I do ship them. After all, they happen to be my comfort pair, and so I'm now the CEO of Zill X Jack, fight me]
And, perhaps I will eventually redesign the other three, Kayla, Vanexa, and Spam. For the moment, however, I simply wish to draw my favorite ship: Luckycharm (a name I proudly coined myself for Zill X Jack, mind you). It is painfully underrated, and I remain both saddened and starved for content. Truly, where are the other Luckycharm enthusiasts hiding?💔
•˚. ୭ 💫 ⌒ NOTE : Also decided to create a new account devoted solely to Zoophobia, or, more precisely, to my favorite ships within it. My fondness for this unfinished masterpiece runs deep enough that I simply felt compelled to dedicate an entire account to it and create content inspired by it. That, in essence, is the reason this account is brand new
