Bright Light Bright Light is very new to my iTunes library. Upon seeing the artwork, and the inclusion of piano-man legend Elton John i HAD to give this record a shot, low and behold this record is one of the most inspirational of the year. it's got a very 'pick yourself up' vibe to some tracks, with love and dreams coming true mixed within it. the record title Life Is Easy, is an easy to love record. with it's calm instrumental demeanor, and beautifully sung lyrics it's a record that'll be hard to turn off after a listen or two.  The record is filled with strong tracks, at a peak the record knows when to dip and rise in the music's energy which makes it that much more of an appealing listen. as shown bellow i've rated the record quite high, theres little to nothing that i dont DONT like about the record, it's well balanced, well made, well off as a career making record for sure. The record is a toe tapping, addictive, and fun release with SO MUCH to love. i HIGHLY recommend this record to anyone willing to give some new music a educated try! plus that duet with Elton John is pure genius! 5/5 and a place on my top record list of 214 for sure!

it's been just about a year since i was introduced to a fellow by the name of 'Cobeo' and his mixtape C'est La Vie, since the release and general love of the music we've hung out and talked the ways of music, life, hell even the most random of things. and like a epiphany you just know this guy KNOWS music.  and in his newest incarnation oldBroadway, and his EP titled PRINCE ΛVΛLΛNCHE he brings new to the table from his last release. most being the smoove vocals and toned down old/neo style RnB vibe. what strikes me green with this release is the just the pure soul that radiates from every song. like other reviews im quick to pick out those FILLER tracks, but there are few releases where there are no filler tracks. this whole EP is clear of that. every track worked from the core out, produced, sung, mixed, all of that. a track like MARVIN GAYE is a just one of those tracks where it's honestly hard to move past it and finish the EP, then you get to POSTER GIRL and you almost want to yell at your computer, or phone, or whatever you're listening to this on, it's just ALL such a great gaggle of tunes. even if this being known as oldBROADWAY had never crept into my life as a wise man of words, a friend. i'd still praise him as much as i am. this is the music the world will need. this is the music that can, and more than likely will still start a new musical (R)evolution. every song is a lovely powerhouse of emotion and visual chakra. theres no going wrong with this release at all, one of 2014's main stays i can account that for sure!  best part ? you can blast this for FREE right here :https://soundcloud.com/oldbroadway/sets/prince-vlnche-ep  do it up, and get ready for one of 2014's best debuts. 5/5 oldBROADWAY, Cobeo, whomever this person may be.. he's going to bring the music world to a whole new level. be ready.

Skrillex unleashed his debut record only a few months ago, and as one of my favorite records this year already we've got some GREAT remixes to the record's title track RECESS. the track featuring the likes of Kill The Noise,Fatman Scoop, & Michael Angelakos has been remixed by some up-coming names of interest including Flux Pavilion.  so remix #1 is by Milo & Otis, this remix was the best way to start this small remix release off! lively and to M & O's track record AWESOME. the remix has this BRANGY feeling to it, a really reverb feeling to it. and echoing track of why RECESS is one of the best tracks off the original record itself. they even added some beauty to it, like the one moment when the aliens come for you, and are abducting you with their beam and your floating above all you see. then they suck you up and the beat pursues to blast the ever loving fuck out of the 4th wall. fantastic remix! 5/5 remix #2 is actually my favorite, and Valentino Khan is the man responsible. The bloopy intro of the remix really veers you off and keeps you guessing how the remix will play out, a little more sped up as to M & O's more slowed down version. this one is the power-house hit and bang of the entire EP. and when that drop comes, it's in your face, its Aliens blasting your home-town with bubble guns man, this remix is just CRAZY! it's just one of those that matches with the original nearly seamlessly! i can't get enough of this one. 5.5 remix #3 took me a while to get used to, but Ape Drumsyet again brings the seismic turn. the track is much slower in the beginning, but once it kicks into full drive early in the song it becomes VERY Alvin Risk like, it's what i call a "Kicker Mix" the peak of the track's life is very proingy and out there and takes you more on a listening journey, and has more character in it's veins. Ape Drums really does bring in the unique sounds, and off topic but i'd REALLY like to hear him and Alvin Risk do tunes together! either or, Ape Drums made one hell of a remix. 5.5 remix #4 while good, is my least favorite of the bunch. Flux Pavilion helmed this one, this one is the slowest of the remix. like super slowed down. and while i know the Flux man can produce some bangin' material this one seems to be a bit of lacker, it's got his mark for sure. but it feels like he stretched the track out, and elongated one of his signature sounds and just threw it together.. i dunno. it's not awful, it's not my taste for sure, but it's the weakest of the EP's bearings for sure. 4/5 either way, this EP was fantastic! and i really loved the material presented for it, here's to hoping theres more Recess themed remix EP's or even albums in the future. i'd love to hear a Dillon Francis remix of Dirty Vibe, or an Alvin Remix of Alls Fair In Love And Brostep. anyway, 5/5 release!

HE. IS. BACK. The MAN of MEN, The blue hearted child-hood sweetheart that got away. Morrissey Officialand his new record World Peace Is None Of Your Business is set to drop next week on the 15th. but of corse i've managed to snag the record early and try it out. and not to spoil the news, but im buying this record day of release. WPINOYB is a record that.. really just peaks for itself. it's just.. MORRISSEY if you know what i mean. Listeners of Morrissey will know what i'm talking about. The record's sounds is all over the place, some spanish influence in a tracks like Earth Is the The Loneliest Planet Of All & The Bullfighter Dies, but pure Moz-Rock all the way through.  As pictured below theres very nil that i do not love of this record's offerings. While there are tracks i can skip while going through the record, i always do end up going back to them either way, every track has that Moz charm to them, and it really does feel like these have bits and pieces of our man's soul in them. 4 years absent of music making and it shows when it came time to record, he put his heart and soul went into this piece for sure. so far my favorite tracks are as follows Staircase At The University Kiss Me Alot World Peace Is None Of Your Business Forgive Someone and  Art Hounds  these tracks are the ones i find myself returning to the most when i go through my daily listen through. weak points in the record are few and far between for me, but there are a few tracks that are good, have holes and feel a little FILLER-esk. Filler or not, the record is a great return for Morrissey and titular figure. the record is an enjoying, lovely, and a masterful piece of Moz-History. i can't deny this long awaited record a place in my list of favorite records of 2014. a 5.5 record. very enjoyable and multicolored.

On October 31st 2012 the music world was shaken to it's core at the news of Mitch Lucker's death. The iconic singer left behind a wife, a child, a dog, a band, and a pantheon of fans with broken hearts.  After the memorial show the band had announced their continuation. the new lead singer Hernan "Eddie" Hermida whom was the vocalist of All Shall Perish, fans were shown that this was not a bad choice with a small clip of Eddie belting You Only Live Once, and then silence. with the announcement of the record's name, release date, the lead single with final lyrics from Mitch it was all set! in 2 days the whole world will have Suicide Silence's new record YOU CAN'T STOP ME. today, well i have it with all it's bonus tracks and all. and im here to say to those who've felt to say that the band is now 'nothing without Mitch' i must say you are very wrong. while yes, Mitch will be sadly missed Eddie fills the role well and even addresses such things in track 2, Inherit The Crown. YOU CAN'T STOP ME as a record is fantastic! it's pulls down every doubt i think anyone did have towards it, and it also then some. as shown below, you can see just how much i really do like this record, it's got the heavy i was hoping it would, plus everything in-between. tracks like Warrior, We Have All Had Enough, Ending Is The Beginning, Cease To Exist, Inherit The Crown... ok nearly 95% of the record is my favorite track, with only 2 taking time to really sink themselves in. But everything inside the point, is nothing short of fucking amazing.  You Can't Stop Me went far beyond my expectations, every pressure point and sweet spot was hit with this record and did more than impress me. so much so that this record will be on my list of best records of 2014 without any doubt! the record is a 5/5 and a must buy on mine and fan's parts. this record is truly amazing, and nothing short of so. i can't say a bad thing about it, Eddie fucking nailed, Chris, Mark, Alex, and Dan constructed a truly METAL record with beautifully killer everything. again, couldn't say a bad thing about this record even if i wanted to. it's fucking awesome, and so worth the time! (this record also has two bonus tracks, Blue Haze & Last Breath. both are pretty good and worth the time to find, and or shovel out for the deluxe edition of the record) just saying!

debut record time! Bleachers aka Jack Antonoff teased the world in february with the single I WANNA GET BETTER, a smash hit before the record even dropped, other singles followed, Shadow + Rollercoaster + Like A River Runs & it all just got better and better (- Shadow for because i really aint that crazy about that one) but anyway Strange Desire is one of those coming of age summer records that really speaks something crazy and even movie like. this record reminds me of a movie called Adventure Land in someways, despite the film taking place somewhere in the 80's this record has that type of charisma! it's got the full volume hits, the sun set on beaches hits, and the hits you can still feel the life from under some A.C. playing super smash bros. with your friends. the record just has it ALL in a sense of being THE summer record of 2014. nothing beats this debut and it's indie-pop-rock thrashing.  The record has high points that soar higher than you'd expect, it's got the life and character of all you'd love from a record you could play really loud over by the ocean, or even in that summer home your parents don't know you're trashing with your friends. The record just has.. like no down-points (even with my not-liking of shadow, which is still a good song.. just my least favorite from the record). it's got massive replay-ability and barely to not existing down slopes. some tracks sound like 80's rock love tracks, one even has a post-punk feeling to it. the record just HAS IT ALL. it even has guest appearances by Grimes & Yoko Ono! like.. what?! YOKO ONO?! the track with Yoko (I'm Ready To Move On/Wild Heart Reprise) is a strange one, very Bjork like with the Bleachers twist, and the track with Grimes (Take Me Away) is just as great and out there.  theres not a single track i could point out as a favorite due to every-track being fantastically amazing! this is the summer record of 2014, it's a 5/5 release, and yes top records of 2014 worthy by far! buy this record, listen to this record, live and love this record because there will never be another like it.. ever.

so, so far Porter Robinson has been releasing singles from his debut record #WORLDS and every one of them has been GREAT, AMAZING, & BEAUTIFUL. but it's the latest single that we're talking about, Lionhearted and it's remixes. The release features ARTY, The Alexanders &Giraffage as the chosen 3 to remix the smash hit of a song. and over-all as seen below they're quite good! The superior being ARTY's remix for sure, while the Alexanders come to a close second with their SUPER FUNK Sonic The hedgehog 3-ish remix, and Giraffage's remix coming in last for me. not that it's bad, it just never really stuck with me this past week of listening to this release.  over-all Porter has an army behind him, great music, beautiful remixes, and a sure to please epic debut record coming out, this remix EP showed that off in just a simple taste! while i generally liked this release since it kinda fell off with one track i must give this a 4.5/5 while not a bad rating, the EP still delivered a good music-going experience! 1. The Purge Anarchy managed to pull off what the first did for me, and then some! While the story and elements were taken outside the house this time, the film still managed to elude my interest and care for the main characters, minus the films bad-ass. While the overall premise of the film was MUCH BETTER than the first, The film yet again made the lead gang member the most interesting character in the film, while not a really bad thing, it's not too great due to the character not really being a HUGE deal in the story. Over-all this one far exceeded it's father film, I give it a 3.5/5. my over-all after the movie feelings are above, here is the day after feelings, the film had a great feeling to it. as apposed to the original that boasted a "new age in home invasion horror", and not really delivering it.. at all really the film fell short. But ANARCHY really brought in the WHAT IF factor and really had this Walking Dead like quality to it.. where it felt like "well shit what would i do?!" they nailed that perfectly, but for some reason these Purge films have a weird quality to them.. where they make these Gang members whom are trying to Purge or whatever they want to do, much more mysterious or interesting than the main characters. yet again, i didn't care TOO much or at all for this film's main cast.. aside from the Film's badass, gun toting, revenge seeking hard ass. to me the most interesting character is the one picture below, and his crew. if anything i want a Purge film about those guys, from the eyes of the Purgers, not the purged. G O D as i call him had a creepy yet so very cool dynamic to his character and it all of last the entire time he was on-screen.  the rest of the film's plot on the other hand, took a turn for REVOLUTION, over throwing the rich and empowering of the poor. which is cool by all means, but it makes me feel like the film is trying to be a little too much than it really is.. but again likewise Anarchy is already MUCH better than the first, and it fixed a-lot of the original's problems as well! so the film was double edged, while the movie wont top or be on any lists of mine, it will find it's way into my collection upon release. my rating still stand at a 3.5/5

we remember Seether correct ? you better, with hits like Fuck It, Broken, FMLYHM, Fake It, Because Of Me, Remedy, Out Of My Way, and many more the band despite it's elude of mainstream success has in fact made some of the best records in the GRUNGE world right after NIRVANA themselves. their newest record Isolate & Medicate has already garnered amazing reviews from music based magazines and such even before it's release. i just managed to spot the record and download it, and all i've heard about the record is very much true as you can see. despite the record containing 10 tracks on the normal version of the record it more than makes up for it in quality. nearly every song is a smash hit, with only 3 really not following the same lead as the others. track 2 - 6 have that classic Seether sound and Grunge feel to them, while Seether isn't a band that really needs a sound upgrade they've done it, and did it RIGHT yet again, every track despite being in the same home as the rest really do have a variety to them. Words As Weapons is probably one of the most powerful tracks on the record, which to Seether isn't a new thing at all, but this is on a new level of pure fuck you status. i love it! and as always the record has those classic slow and sad Seether tracks, Crash & Save Today bring in that BROKEN essence and blow it near out of the water. Whatever happened in lead-singer's Shaun Morgan's life prior to this record's birth must have truly hurt and sucked, because this record is a huge bruise on the heart and mind and is nothing short of one of the best records this year has. (i know i say that a lot, but this year really has had some of the best records ever!) 5/5

Jack Antonoff first captured me with I Wanna Get Better, then Shadow came out and i wasn't feeling it. but now we have Rollercoaster. an indie pop catchy smash summer jam of jams! Rollercoaster really brought out the life and theme to Bleachers where i feel Shadows fell off. 

so while we have to wait until July 15th to get this full record officially i feel it's more than worth the wait, i wanna get better and rollercoaster are already huge hits to me and really embody this lovely weathered heart of music this summer needs, and i cannot wait for this record to FINALLY drop and be in my collection. 

as a single Rollercoaster is a 5/5 track, clearly fi you digitally pre-order this you get all 3 mentioned singles for free! do what you got to do! no doubt, this record will be a killer!

a definitive record found it's way from the iTunes store to my library today, Say Anything and their new record HEBREWS is one of the ABSOLUTE BEST, VERY MUCH BEST records of 2014. from track 1 to 12 i was enraptured in beautiful tunes, lovely lyrics, and a whole bunch of guest vocals for the mind and heart to interoperate.

off the bat track 1 John McLane, is my favorite over-all. the lyric "I'll Be The Ripley To Your John McLane" is one of the most oddly-romantic lines ever written. in a brief description Ripley is the main protagonist from the ALIEN series, while John McLane from Die Hard, two of the MOST BADASS lead roles from the 80's and on. i found that so perfectly beautiful. while other tracks like SIX SIX SIX, A LOOK, THE SHAPE OF LOVE TO COME, and KALL ME KUBRICK top my top 5 favorite tracks off the record, while the whole deal is a beautiful one, these 5 are some of the best tracks the band has ever recorded. and for those who dont know, the guitar aspect to this record are non-existent (except in six six six) the way the album was handled with that one little difference was beautiful and really stand out from the rest of the new records from this year. another big thing about this record is that every track is indeed great, so this album is very much under my self proclaimed "HIM SYNDROME" where every track kills it again and again, i've listened to this record 8 times today and it's lost none of it's kick or lust. i love this record SO DAMN MUCH. i can't put it down, turn it off, or even deny a repeat of any song more than twice. 5/5 and very much so my new pick for album of the year.  LISTEN TO THIS RECORD!

Porter Robinson is set and ready to over-take the world with WORLDS. with now 3 tracks representing his debut record on new levels o-levels, WORLDS is already looking to rival the biggest of big this year has had in releases, EP and Albums alike.  So we've talked about Sea Of Voices, Sad Machine, NOW we must talk about the latest from the greatest, LIONHEARTED.  First off, this track continues this Tokyo themed and inspired sounding the first two tracks have had, which shows Porter was probably living in it up over in JAPAN whilst writing this well awaited record! Lionhearted is a beautiful track with fantastic vocals from Urban Cone. The track itself feels and sounds like it could be the opener to an Anime much like Sad Machine did. Vocally and Instrumentally the song meshes together perfectly, and doesn't upset in the near slightest. 5/5 Worlds is slowly becoming one of the most talked about records in the dance music world, will it live up to it's legendary words ? probably. as of now these 3 tracks back up my statement of it's success. i suggest you do the same, because when WORLDS does eventually drop it's going to take the world by storm!

L0TSO is back yet again, a new chilled out track by the name of B.B. P. T. which stands for Baby Blue Palm Trees.  the track really reminds of me of Anamanaguchi in some parts, a long with some old SEGA menu start screen tunes, the sampled vocals breaks that up nicely. at a 4 minute 11 second clock in the track itself takes you away for those 4 minutes and lets you float around your own little land for however long you want. i like when songs do this, it really shows off a track or records power, AND just how hard the people or person worked on it. B.B. Slaves and their debut record found their way into my iTunes earlier yesterday.. and while i loved The Upgrade Part II, this record was really hit or miss with me. it felt boring and hard to sit through. while some tracks, and familiar names made their cameos and statements. the rest of the record was rather dry, generic, and not very appealing to me in the slightest.. im sorry if i offend anyone, but after four full listens of this record i couldn't bear another go around. i do like a few tracks though, but even those i have a hard time WANTING to hear listen to them.. so i can't really give this record anything hight than a 3/5. some tracks were good, some were eh, the rest were bland to me and not very enjoyable.

ver wondered what J-Pop-Punk may sound like, well do i have a band and new record for you! BLAZING the new record from Japanese JPopPunk band Dirty Old Men. Blazing, a record itself that i happened to download by random quickly became a high energy, toe tapping, anime induced ride of a life-time. with 7 studio recorded tracks, and 3 live bonus tracks the record clocks in at a total of 42 minutes in full.  BLAZING all together is a crazy awesome record, while im not the biggest fan of the genre something about these dudes and the way they write and go about their music just makes the record that much more enjoyable. a track like "In Room" starts out with that classic Blink-182 drum opening, into funky guitar playing, and chiming keys and slow guitars really slow the album up a bit, in a good way of corse. The album's lead single Yowamushi na Honou really sounds like it could soundtrack a Sonic The Hedgehog cartoon, it's face paced, catchy as hell, and despite being in a different language it's easy to remember by both vocals and instrumentals, it's a very well layered track, it's got a lot going on in and around it. also my favorite track! another track that peaks my favors is Yozora no BGM, a slow track but as the rest, it's catchy as hell and has amazing sticking power! this track also sounds like it could be an intro to anime of any kind. so with all this, the different language, and the normally un-listened-to genre, what could i rate this ? an easy 5/5. despite not understanding the language, it's great music with awesome power and life, BLAZING is nothing short of a great record and will more than positively have a spot on my list of best records of 2014! check these guys out, totally worth it!

Destroid came at us with bass galore last year, and this year so far we've got two new songs, and two VIP mixes, now we have a remix album simply titled The Invasion Remixes. NOW, when it comes to Excision and his remixes album, they're usually pretty fucking beast. and since he's involved with DESTROID, i thought this HAS to be fucking epic! and boy oh boy was i HALF wrong. OK, so this remix record is 11 tracks long, Destroid 6 was remixed twice. but in a sense i'm VERY divided on this one. One half of the record is GREAT, the other half is just.. EH. as listed below my favorites remixes were by : Barely Alive,BAR9, Getter, Crizzly, & The Frim. these 5 really captured what i was hoping and looking for. Not only just a good size up to the original track, but keeping heavy and hard hitting like the original album. Not that the other remixers failed at this, just some sounded OFF.. maybe it's because i was hoping for a full blown BASS METAL (mah gah) remix record, or it's because these other dudes and their styles just aren't my taste (opinionated soup). but by far, the DatsiK remix of Annihilate is the worst on this remix venture, Annihilate was my favorite track off the original record, and DatsiK chopped it all up with out dated WUBZ and slowed it to a point where i could barely finish it all 4 times. but again thats just my opinion. OVER-ALL : this record is not bad, it's not great, it's half and half with me, whats good is good, whats bad is bad. so i give this a 3.5/5. i recommend checking out some of the tagged artists, they make some crazy tunes, and their remixes for this record were prime!
