my lit teacher has allowed me to have a gay main character is my creative assessment!!!

(my theme is sensationalised media and it’s set in the AIDs crisis)

this is such a big deal because i go to a very conservative, homophobic catholic school, who’s opinion is generally “we don’t hate gays because jesus told us to love everyone regardless of their sin” but they actually hate gays

some more hp wordplay

so we’ve all heard of remus lupin being “wolf wolf” and sirius black being the black dog but i found some other cool wordplay in the harry potter series that isn’t as well known

- in latin dolor means pain and what is umbridge’s first name? dolores. what does she do? cause harry pain

- also in latin severus means serious, severe and strict, all things attributed to snape

- in esperanto fidelus means faithful, so the fidelus charm literally means the faithful charm, and will only work as long as the secret keeper remains faithful to the users.

hear me out: a cutthroat kitchen-type contest for fanfic writers. contestants are given a different trope to write each round. sabotages include making an opponent write in first person, requiring them to write in a particular AU, making them incorporate the opening structure of my immortal. alton brown looks over your shoulder while you write the smut.

Just imagine the songfic round when the song is chosen by a wheel of death. Never once has it actually landed on an Evanescence or FOB song.

Other challenges include The NoTP Round, where writers have to write a fanon pairing that they just can’t stand; The Longhand Challenge, where writers have to write the whole fic WITHOUT A COMPUTER; and The Canon Crash, where someone must write a fic incorporating a piece of canon that they violently disagree with.

And let’s not even talk about the episode where someone ended up doing a Rule 36 Anthro Sex Pollen Big Bang Theory Crossover. The Wheel was merciless that day.

The Writer’s Block Sabotage where you make one fic author stop writing for a full 5-10 minutes of the round (perhaps forcing them to make a flash fiction in what ought to have been a full-fledged ficlet).

The Substitution Sabotage where you must use epithets in place of MCs’ names for gen fic, and euphemisms in place of genitalia words for smutfic.

The Blindfold Sabotage where one writer must do all of their writing (typed or longhand) with a blindfold over their eyes, thus leaving the author at severe risk of typos.

The RPG-Style Fic Sabotage. Speaks for itself.

The Death of a MC Sabotage. Always occurs in the middle of a round, MC death must be written the moment the sabotage is delivered (with only enough leeway to finish the current sentence the author is working on).

The Safe to Show Your Parents Sabotage, usually delivered in whump or smutfic challenge, probably, forcing authors to write the fic in a way that would make it at least partway palatable to a parental figure.

Switch POV Sabotage. Delivered at the beginning of a challenge, forces author to write multiple POVs. Delivered in the middle of a challenge, forces writer to switch POV at the moment of the sabotage being delivered.

guys last night i had the WEIRDEST dream so basically i was at swimming training and my irl boyfriend cave to the pool (he doesn’t swim) and i paid no attention to him then a bunch of random people i didn’t know came over to the pool and then this girl i knew came over and i got out of the pool and kissed and cuddled her in front of everyone because apparently she was my girlfriend in this dream (i have no romantic/sexual feelings towards her at all) and them my mum yelled at me to get in the pool and said “hurry up and get in the pool, or you’ll be drinking pussy” then i laughed so hard i woke up

i always see these headcanons that when :irius and Remus got married, Sirius would take Remus’ name because it meant he got away from his childhood. and these are wRONG. Sirius did initially go through this thought process, but then he realised how much it would make Walburga Black roll in her grave is there was a poor half blood wEREWOLF that married into the family and had the name Black.
