XIV Heatwave Festival - Week 3 (late-ish!) - Competition!
Sisi attended Gegeruju's regular game night under the impression that they were going to play Doman Mahjong.
Gegeruju explained impatiently that no, it was a Doman themed games night, see how the catgirls are dressed all Eastern, and the table's green? They'd be playing TT, as usual.
"Then I brought the wrong cards!" wailed Sisi.
"Sisi, you brought a Poro Roggo trading card and an apple" pointed out Popokkuli
"That could be the right things! You don't know how to play Doman Mahjong! NOBODY DOES!"
....to which they all agreed, she had a point. There were no rules.
This post brought to you by Brio not spawning props in right, combined with losing the Gpose window and it not being bound to the key I thought it was. CRYING LIKE SISI, THIS POST WAS STRUGGLE.
Longmirror Lake in Il Mheg, with its cool, clear water, sparkling in the valley sun, fascinating underwater ruins to explore is a gloriously refreshing spot for a dip on a hot day!
Sisi doesn't especially suffer from the heat, originating as she does from sunbaked Thanalan plus blessing of light - but she likes to make sure her neighbours in Empyrium are comfortable over an unseasonably warm summer.
Newly-learned Black Mage skillz coming in handy all over the place!
I know I'm so so so late. Ironically, it was too hot for me to be at the computer when the challenge started, and then life, and all the excuses, but I've been so excited for this 'fest, so I WILL catch up! I must!
NO BUT SERIOUSLY, YES he's just made from snow! He and his snowfamily live down in the south west corner of Empyrium (or north west if you're in the Subdivision, where the map is flipped 90 degrees!) and one of them even starred in an early SisiPost
Sisi gets on much better with them than those other neighbours with their bad exterior decor!
Although Sisi says she doesn't know if they've always always been just snow, but she insists she can't be bothered to ask them blamed if they weren't!
"Sisi, does the ride back here feel a lot more uncomfortable since leaving Hhusatahwi?"
"Well, we are driving on train tracks, Lulu."
"No, I think maybe it's because THE GOT-DANG BACKSEAT IS GONE!!!" Funny how this happened around the same time @not-eorzeas-finest's Giddion joined the party!
Oh, no! Anyway, here's Heritage Found. An ominous view of Solution 9 and a bunch of endless lightning storms... Yup, sums it up pretty well!
If I had a gil for every time Lulu and Sisi have wound up playing dead in a body of water during a XIV social event, I'd have two gil, which isn't a lot, but it's hilarious that it's happened twice!
That's a lot of screenshots of Living Memory! I couldn't help myself, it's such a gorgeous zone. Sure it's a literal ghost town and the purpose it was built for is super problematic, BUT IT'S SO PRETTY!!!
And so the final walk of the year comes to an end! It was such a high note to end the Walks on! I saw so many tumblr friends this time around and getting to hang out with them and chat was fun! Just like all of these walks have been! Thank you so much @acrossetheirys for running these! I'm so grateful to have been a part of them. I can't wait until they start up again next year!
Heatwave Festival - Week 1 (late) - It's Too Hot....
I must!
Thank you to everyone who could make it out to a walk this year, even if you could only attend one. We had an AMAZING turnout this year for each one, which blew me away. So please know you've all made this a year of walks to remember, and I am eternally grateful for your company.
We hope to see you all again next year, as well as any new faces who wish to join us! We'll be starting in February with ARR so people have time to get through new MSQ! The dates will be posted at the start of 2027!
In the meantime, enjoy Evercold!
Also, please remember to tag us if you post any screenshots! We love sharing them here after every walk!
The Dawntrail leg of the Walk @acrossetheirys happened last night, and was delightful as always. I got to spend time taking in the sights and chatting with friends old and new. Just look at this esteemed company!
Many more pictures ad thoughts under the keep reading. Grab a beverage, and let's go for a walk!
I neglected to get any shots of everyone gathering before setting out (oops!) because I was too busy saying hello, and sending out friend requests (Did you know that you are capped at sending 7 friend requests per day? I didn't until last night!).
Like we did on the rite of succession two years ago, we set forth from Tuliyollal. Though this time with a MUCH larger party of adventurers.
The first leg of the trip was plagued by rain, so not the best travel photo weather. Though I have to share this shot of @sisitosito's little straw hat poking out of her tank.
Sun! Flowers! Punutiy! The true Kozama'uka experience (minus all the stuff with reeds).
Onwards to the soaring vistas and towering stonework of Urqopacha
And what would a visit to Urqopacha be without partaking of the hospitality (and mezcal) of the Pelu Pelu. We also picked up a late addition to our party here! It seems The Tyrant was also out traveling Tural, and decided to join our merry band. Bunzo learned a lot about the culture of The Arcadion, Solution 9 training techniques, and which fighters are and are not (allegedly) being mind controlled by cats.
I unfortunately neglected to get any shots of Yak Tel (those dark roads are tricky to drive on, so I left photography up to @laliluluho.
Shaaloani was also distracting. Though mainly because Bunzo was reminiscing about his previous trip through the area where he and Erenville became a couple â€.
A brief rest stop at camp kitty cat.
We picked up a hitchhiker. @not-eorzeas-finest's Giddion hopped in the Bunzomobile for the northern leg of the journey.
We also crossed paths with another pair of wanderers! Good old Alpha and Omega were also making their way through Shaaloani.
I think they're complaining about my driving. I don't know why. I barely hit anyone.
Howdy.
A smaller, bluer howdy.
I got some shots of Heritage Found, but they are so so dark. You will have to picture it for yourself. It was very gray and black with some purple. You understand. You've seen it.
Speaking of purple! It's everyone's favorite purple city.
A quick stop to cool off after a lot of walking.
And then off to soar through the skies of the saddest place on the Ninth. At least the lights are back on now.
And then we arrive back where this post began. Surrounded by wonderful friends. Tired, grinning from ear to ear, and slightly misty eyed knowing that I will have to wait until next year to do this all again.
Some closer shots of the big group before my sappy final thoughts.
The Stormblood walk 3 months ago was my first time really participating in the social aspects of FFXIV in a meaningful way.I cannot thank everyone who joined in on that walk, and all of the others since then, for making the experience so wonderful. XIV already meant a lot to me as a game and a story, but you all have made it so much more than that. It really is a community full of warm, welcoming, funny, creative people.
I look forward to joining you all next year, from A Realm Reborn all the way through Evercold. Nothing could keep me away.
Before last night's Dawntrail walk, I stopped off in Old Sharlayan to meet up with a good friend.
It's @diggingforkuponuts' Flower Mintea! At last two of the prettiest bunny bois in Etheirys were able to meet up! Flowers were exchanged! Cocoa was consumed! Dances were danced! And joy and connection were felt. But what's this? A couple more familiar faces?
Why if it isn't @laliluluho and @sisitosito! Shenanigans were shenaniganed, and delightful tunes were hummed in the aetheryte plaza until well after the sun came up.
You would be hard pressed to find a more delightful light party than this. I hope we can get together in game again soon!
It was so very much fun to meet you @feistierermine @sisitosito and @laliluluho! I donât have quite the skills and tools for comic making but if I did, itâd go something like this.
A wild Bunzo has appeared! You both used friend! It was super effective!
A Sisito had appeared! Friend was effective again!
Lulu has appeared! Friend has a 100% success rate, would you like to cast?
Success! Youâre all friends!
It means so so much that you took the time to take a detour before the Walk Across Etheirys event. I hope you had as much fun as I did and that you had a great time at the Walk Across event! <3
â put this star in the inbox of your favorite blogs. itâs time to spread positivity ! đ
And also from @diggingforkuponuts !
GET STARRED RIGHT BACK!
don't worry about the burning Starlight tree there, Sisi thought she could just get the star off that and present it to you and it'd be real cute but it turns out it's really stuck on there and she got a little frustrated, and she's been training Black Mage and one thing led to another AND THEN she remembered she could just magic you a star like that, and yeah so anyway probs nothing to worry about, the primogs seem to have it under control
Hello~ I found you from another ffxiv blog I follow but I couldnât stop myself from sending you a message cause your Sisi is SO CUTE holy moly!! I love her hair and that post about dragging a marimba across Eorzea for bard school had me giggling. Consider yourself followed!!
Thank yoooooooooou!! I blush, Sisi blush, we all blush! It's nice to meet you!! :D
For our walk across the lands of Dawntrail! From scenic Tuliyollal, to the Golden City, and everywhere between!
The only requirements you need to meet are being through the expansion! If you don't have flight unlocked, please let us know! A couple areas require a little flight, so we can have a multi-seater available upon request! Otherwise, come one, come all! We'd love to see you there!
When Sisi was growing up in Western Thanalan, one didn't see so many flowers, they were considered a pretty precious commodity, for special occasions only.
Sisi is a sucker for a Yellow Viola, and likes to wear one in her hair. She thinks the colour brings out her gold eye, and that they've got cute squinty faces.
She'll tell you she grows them in pots in her room in the FC house, but actually she forgets to water them, and picks the ones in her hair from the public flowerbeds out front, shhh.
The viola is the quintessential symbol of modesty and humility, representing a beauty that does not seek the spotlight.
In the delicate architecture of the natural world, viola symbolism is defined by a unique "Resilient Modesty" paradox. While other flowers stretch toward the sun with grand displays, the viola remains close to the earth.
This low-growth habit is not a sign of weakness but rather a testament to its subtle strength. It thrives in the shadows and cool corners of the garden, proving that spiritual nobility does not require a pedestal.
Humility and modesty:Â Evoked by the flower's characteristic downward-tilting bloom.
Faithful devotion:Â A reference to the plantâs perennial nature and steady presence.
Innocent love:Â Historically linked to pure, unpretentious affection.
Subtle strength:Â Its ability to endure frost and harsh conditions with grace.
The yellow viola is a burst of high spirits and joy. Despite its small size, its vibrant color acts as a beacon of happiness, suggesting that joy does not need to be loud to be impactful.
Owing to pangs of conscience at being tasked to arbitrarily assassinate random Imperial conscripts for her low-level hunt logs, Sisi is attempting a new tactic: of instead sneaking up behind them and yelling "byaaaahhhhh" and then running off giggling while they're startled, and then checking them off the hunt list
she's the warrior of light, who's gonna check up on her anyway?
TAKE THAT, 2ND COHORT SIGNIFIER
special shout out to the sprout who kept killing this guy and everyone else in Castrum Occidens when I was in gpose trying to get this done - great job buddy
