Damaged—Open
Ever since Jemma disappeared for the second time a little over a week ago, Fitz’s hallucinations had returned. But this time, they weren’t just of her. He couldn’t tell what was real anymore. If anything. It was a gradual process. A couple of days after she left, he saw her in the lab, standing with Coulson, seemingly in the silent company of one another. But when he ran to her, demanding to know where she had been, Coulson stepped in between the two and asked, “Who are you talking to?” Until that point, he didn’t think anything could hurt him more than the last separation. He was so wrong.
The day after that, desperate for comfort, he ran to Skye to tell her of the event. And for a couple of minutes, she made it better. For a couple of minutes, he thought that maybe he would be okay. That he could become okay again. But then a voice appeared from behind him.
“Fitz?” It was Skye. He glanced over his shoulder at her, her expression afraid, and when he turned back to the previous version, she was gone. Leaving only the one who had just entered the room. The one who reminded him how damaged he was. Who tore his reality apart.
Ever since then, he had been holed up in his bunk, refusing to see anyone. Refusing to believe they were real.
Skylar hadn’t been on the base for that long at all, a few hours at most. but when she had heard of what had been happening, what her brother was going through? She had somewhat reluctantly left her daughter with some guy named Mike, he looked somewhatt scar to most she guessd, but Zoe seemed to like him and he seemed good with kids. So she decoded to leave her with him, with the promise that she'd take a look at his hardware to see if their was anything she could do to help get it in better working condition after what he'd been through with Hydra.
And so she was in front of the door to his bunk, not really sure how to go about this. Who's to say he wouldn't think she was a hallucination? Still, she knocked on the door and said. "--Hey, Fizzle? Are you in th'r?" She asked, using the nickname she'd come up with when they were just kids.
