i'd like to add that the shadow color isnt necessarily dictated entirely by the primary light source, but the bounce light! so for the example of a sunny environment, the reason the shadows are blue are because of the light from the blue sky reflects across the environment; but, if the character were to be under tree cover, the bounce light would be coming from the leaves and thus the shadow would look greener.

Hello everyone and welcome back to my three year cycle of Transformers insanity! Here are three new (and updated Delta) characters I’ve been ruminating on since 2011 (yikes). Their designs and backstories are TFA specific ATM, but it could be fun to try others!

Delta-5: An experimental (and highly classified) deep space mining shuttle created by the Autobots during the end of the Age of Expansion. Was created to be able to covertly locate and retrieve deposits of Energon for the Autobot stockpiles. Was assigned to Sunspot, the leader in new-spark care, to learn how to function within society. They were separated from a Decepticon bombing during the Iacon War and was presumed offline since no trace of her could be located.

Sunspot: A Destron medic who is one of the leading experts in new-spark care. Despite rising tensions between Autobots and Destrons, is given formal training in Iacon and is chosen to foster and report on Delta’s progress. Is later captured (rescued?) by the Decepticon strike team called the Valkyries at the end of the the Iacon War. Before Delta, he met Deadsky during a Quintession border skirmishes and kept in touch during the remainder of the war. (❤️🌹❓👀)

Deadsky: Leader of an all-femme Decepticon strike team called the Valkyries. Was part of the Destrons during the Age of Expansion and met Sunspot during a Quintession skirmish. They kept in touch for their like-minded views. Eventually kidnaps Sunspot during the Iacon War and keeps him hidden from the Decepticon high-command on her ship. (❤️🌹❓👀)

Incoming: SIC of the Valkyries. Is totally head over heels for Ultra Magnus, lol. (Definite WIP on her backstory)

steps for a bad time and problems, for an artist:

1) feel guilty about not having made progress on various projects

2) convince yourself that in order to make up for the lack of progress, any progress moving forwards has to be extra good

3) feel anxious about your ability to clear this now higher bar, and become full of doubt

4) wonder if you’re cut out to be an artist, and furthermore if anything you do in life is okay or enough, or if you’ll just be a dumb piece of shit forever

5) procrastinate further on projects due to these irrational yet very persuasive inner thoughts

6) go back to step 1

i think people get so used to their own creative work that they forget how amazing it is so i’m making this post as a reminder You are the only person capable of making art the exact way you make it. nobody else on earth can do that. there are always going to be those little habits and intricacies and details that simply cannot be replicated whether it’s in writing or painting or textiles and you make life all the better for it i love my friends’ art i love art from strangers im trying to love my own art I LOVE YOU!!!
