Day 13
I honestly do not recall
If I’ve taken a thing
Even an item so small
I honestly do not recall
What I could’ve taken for
No apologies from this tongue
I honestly do not recall
If I’ve taken a thing.

Day 12
Day 11
Day 10
Day 9
Day 8
Day 7
“Singin’ in the Iron Rain”
on another land
the alien version of Gene Kelly
sings,
as he dances around
in his iconic routine
with stronger protection
as the metal pummels down
like our rain from above
but harder,
hotter,
and 24/7
that Gene alien
would grace their
“streets”
in his elegance
while the metal,
continues,
pummeling down.

Day 6
Day 5
The sweet seeds of victory
appearing within Sam’s grasp
while she sits at her desk
“No habla español” Sam screams,
yet she’ll get an A.
the birds chirp, chirp in the distance
the beams grazing upon her white skin
through the window’s crack.
The chair pulling her away
as the brisk air rushes into her nose
she quickly resists
and pushes the chair forward
then, stands.
Flying out the door
blazing by her Boomer
that tells at her to get back
and as a teenager
when the Boomer yells,
the teenager of course listens
in one ear and out the other
as she claims if she doesn’t
leave now
she’ll never accomplish her task,
yet she’ll still
get an A.

Twice my size
when I was five,
bright like the sun
with his wings
yet he couldn’t fly,
but he did ride.
In this purple space
he had a bike...
and his leather jacket...
still,
he couldn’t fly.
He flashed his yellow face
with fangs about the
size of his beak
and I quickly arose
back into my zone
but when I see this
yellow bird face
I quickly
turn away.

Day 3
The thrown howl
and the flicker moan
the bird estimates
the owl’s scowl
within his nook
the songbird is shook
while the might mouse
sprouts out...
In the bright light
I write
Now blurred
losing the fight
I benefit yet,
sandals come off
ankles push down,
blanket on,
candle out.

Day 2
The current art
changing within weeks,
months,
very few continue to
stay in place.
From the tiniest
of feet, to those who
need assistance to get around,
a place for all
smiles & minds alike.
Music plays
can hear from Publics
idk how many
blocks away,
but still bringing smiles
to all minds
every night.

Day 1, National Poetry Writing Month
My life is a
constant revision.
One day make a wrong
another day choose incorrect
then turn the wrong right
and choose correct next time.
Eying my decisions
as my numbers reflect them
and then edit the decisions
so my numbers reflect the good.
Constantly changing
every second of every minute of every...
you know the picture.
Still changing,
no, editing,
no, revising,
so I can continue
to see the next sunrise.

It’s April...which means NaPoWriMo!!!!! Here’s a few posts, this is the one from yesterday, and early bird post about my favorite bird 😂 thanks National Poetry Writing Month
Short,
a little plumpy,
not the little green
you slice open and
slice,
slice,
and stick into
your fruit craving
mouth.
Short,
a little plumpy,
no.
Quite big,
quickly scurrying
under the moonlight
in silence,
or else it hides
not
in plain sight.

It’s only day two
and fear,
he seems to still
be leading,
yet our own
soldiers
without their shiny
armor
are still fighting harder,
stronger,
to be gone of fear
so we can enjoy
our loved ones
embrace
without fear
winning their fight.
I shook less,
today, as I focused
on my future reminding
that this
will all be over,
yet I still feel
fear’s lurking presence
as I continue to
fight and eliminate
it from my
mind.
I don’t know
what each day will
now bring,
but as I squeeze
my bear tight
tonight,
reminded I’m still
someone’s soldier
without my shiny armor,
as we all still fight
ending fear’s
over expired
reign.
