what i have planned for next year
after a year of focusing on paint, it surprisingly hasn’t scared me off or bored me. instead i have become interested in a variety of aspects paint has to offer. after getting comfortable with paint and its properties i gained to confidence to stop waiting for one layer of paint to dry, applying another colour, letting it dry, and so on; instead i began mixing paint straight onto the canvas and creating waves of colour. also i used to be scared to make mistakes, this definitely held me back from producing work at a faster pace, this soon changed. i began adding layers and layers over mistakes and then scraping layers away making new textures and patterns each time.
next year i plan on leaving behind the music element, as this project was a good at kick starting my development in painting. i want to take this playful relationship i have made with paint and work on a larger scale canvas whilst keeping the experimentation of paint the same size (small scale). something like a collage of textures. this is a task i am setting myself to complete over summer
