This is not an official update by Facebook or XIX. Kennedy Hermansen said this in her Instagram live. And according to Lakeisha, FB still hasn’t confirmed/renewed yet.

Hi everyone! It’s been nearly eight months and Facebook has yet to officially renew or say anything about SKAM Austin. So we’re taking things into our own hands. The best way to show Facebook Watch how much we want Shay the show back is through our creators across social media. I’ve organized these appreciation weeks so we can explain the importance of SKAM and the impact it has on us. 

This event will take place from the 17th of January to the 31st.

You can contribute in many different forms: gifsets, graphics, scene edits, videos, metas/textposts, fanfiction, fanmix/playlists, fanart, or any other creative medium. If you repost someone else’s work, make sure you have their permission and give them credit! Feel free to post more than once per day, skip days, or post after January 31st if you are catching up!

Guys, today was incredibly successful and fun!! Facebook definitely saw how many people want this renewal and now they have no excuse - it’s up to them to do something about this.

But that doesn’t mean we should stop!! We need to keep pushing this, every day to make sure that they can’t forget about it or put it to the side.

If you guys watched Kennedy’s live on Instagram earlier (it’s still up on her page) you know that we are working on the Twitter side of things. She has created an account @/kennedyskamstan where she hopes to connect the fandom, in the hopes of getting #RenewSkamAustin to trend.

In the next few weeks, I will be organizing another campaigning day like today, an appreciation week, & a live Watch on Facebook.

this show is so important. if we renew it, we will get:

the first isak of colour

a lesbian isak played by an actual lesbian

gay/lesbian friendship between tyler and shay

both the isak and the sana as women of colour
