btw in the U.S. (and perhaps other places I have yet to explore!) you can go to your local library to do arts & crafts.

i don't have a big table or good lighting at home so whenever i want to work on a project i just throw all my stuff in a bag and go to the library and make a big mess and no one care as long as you clean it up. also a bonus because you can print stuff there and (sometimes) the librarians let me use supplies like rulers and scissors : )

one time i reserved a private meeting/study room and I brought my whole sewing machine and sewed in there and the librarians were delighted. you should go craft at your local library!
