Anonymously tell me your feelings for me.
It doesn’t have to be romantic (though if you did feel that way, it’d be perfectly fine). Just how you feel in general. I get curious of people’s impressions of me.
Rolling his eyes, Barrel tried to pull himself up again, only succeeding in adding to the scrapes on his arms. “Well to bad, you don’t have a camera so you can’t. Now come on Jack, are you going to help me or not?” Frowning a bit, Barrel sighed. “I was supposed to meet up with Lock and Shock here. But, I’m pretty sure Lock just threw me in then left me. And Shock is no where to be found.” It took a few minutes more before Barrel was finally out of the water and laying on the dock. “I hate this.” He huffed.
jack let this go one for just a few more seconds. i mean, it was barrel for god’s sake. the selicks were always up to no good and for once, one of them needed his help. “such a shame, right?” he glanced down at his wet clothes and sighed. “sounds like a lock thing to do. this is why you guys can’t be trusted.” he shrugged his jacket off and wrapped it around the boy. “you should’ve known they were just trying to trick you. i mean the dock? really?”
boy, was he about to start something he didn’t plan on in the first place. it was pretty obvious as to what the answer was going to be for that question, but it seemed as though he was sticking to the path of naivety. perhaps he truly didn’t know what h was setting himself up for. but quinn really couldn’t care less. she needed her errands done, and it would be now or never. ❝well, I could think of a couple of things right off the bat, but.. we’ve only just met. so, I’m going to have to stick with the obvious answer.❞ she turned her head toward the mess of garments piled up beside them on the love seat, hoping he would fill in the blank she’d drawn.
jack narrowed his eyes and waited for her next move. but it was blatantly obvious that he was only going to make a good first impression only by being her personal assistant. but hey, helping someone out never harmed jack before. he chewed on his lip, a small grin plastered on his face. “your wish is my command, i suppose.” he plopped down on the seat next to her, picking up a few garments. “how does one acquire this many clothes? i maybe have like 10 outfits.” he teased.
her eyebrows furrowed together , ❝ couldn’t you make an exception , just this once?? ❞ it wasn’t that difficult , all he had to have done was let her know he would be stopping by . the fact that he decided to s m o k e right in front of her wasn’t helping much either , but it did steal a heavy sigh of frustration from her berry - colored lips . he wasn’t acting like his normal self , && sally knew she was to blame — perhaps the reason wasn’t clear , yet that was merely a detail . ❝ there wasn’t a– … what ?? ❞ incredulousness took over her sculpted features , a sudden discomfort crawling up her spine . jack skellington , the king of celebrations , skipped a holiday ?? the thought was hard to process , && after lingering on the green - filled box for a few seconds , her gaze met his own . ❝ i - it wasn’t because of me , right ?? jack , when i told you i didn’t know if i would be able to go , it wasn’t because i didn’t want to . i know how much these things mean to you , i– ❞ she trailed off , hands nervously tucking red curls behind her ears . ❝ i - i actually wanted to talk to you about something ; it has to do with … with us — i mean , not that there is an ‘ us ’ but … ❞
jack never understood why she was so weary about having people over. but she never really explained it so why should he respect her rules? he didn’t know why he was so upset with her but all he knew was he couldn’t even look at her. “no sally.. there wasn’t.” he finally met her eyes with an icy stare. “considering you’re one of my best friends.. it may have have something to do with that.” he didn’t want to admit it, but he constantly craved sally’s approval, even over the simplest things. when she mentioned she needed to talk to him, he simply laughed and looked around. “fine. let’s talk. should we take this conversation elsewhere?”he leaned against the railing and simply stared at her.
when the doorbell rang , it was almost as if the redhead’s heart skipped a beat . had sally been the religious type , she would have prayed to all the gods in the world not to let finklestein be distracted by the sound — however , her beliefs began / ended with karma , so she did nothing but hope . the girl couldn’t recall inviting anyone to come over ( she would be crazy to do such a thing !! ) , && the mad scientist upstairs didn’t seem to have much of a social circle either , so who could it be ?? noticing no movement made from upstairs , besides a grunt of annoyance && the impatient way he spoke when telling her to go see who it was , sally was quick to move towards the front door , her brown eyes growing wide at the much taller figure . ❝ — JACK ?? what– what are you doing here , are you okay ?? ❞ glancing back inside the house to make sure there would be no disturbance , she stepped outside && closed the door . ❝ you can’t just come here like this , you know … you could have texted me or called . ❞
once the door opened, it was blatantly obvious that sally was stressed. she always told jack now to come to finklestein’s home, but he was never keen on social cues. rather than being his nice, apologetic self, he simply stood there with an eyebrow raised. what was the worse that could happen? “oh ms. elfman.. you know i hardly use my phone.” he dropped the box on the porch while taking one long drag. his eyes were lifeless, unphased by her tone. “this won’t take long.” he muttered, kicking the box towards her with his foot. “figured you’d want this stuff.. y’know since there wasn’t a party.” rather than tossing the cigarette to the side, he slowly crushed the top with his forefinger and thumb, slightly wincing. even though he was avoiding sally, it did bother him that she didn’t think to reach out. not even once. this was a side of him that hadn’t come out in a while, but sally managed to bring the pumpkin king out.
@girlrags
ever since their last conversation, jack went out of his way to avoid sally all because she said she couldn’t attend his st. patrick’s day party. in fact, he hadn’t really talked to anyone. he was so distraught about the whole ordeal that he decided to cancel it altogether. if his best friend didn’t want to come, why would anyone else want to? it was probably immature on his part, but jack was hard-headed sometimes. well, most of the time. and this was a prime example of that. now he had a bunch of green decorations laying around, untouched. sure he could save them for next year, but he didn’t believe in recycling decorations. it would ruin his fun. but he knew sally would find good use for them. with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth, he rang her doorbell and waited patiently.

“What you think this is funny!” Barrel yelled as he tried to pull himself up onto the dock. The weight of his now soaked clothes was making the task very difficult. “You just gonna stand there and watch me struggle or are you going to help me up?” He questioned the figure that was looming around the scene.
“just another minute.. this is too good.” jack grinned, trying to hold back his laughter. honestly, he was surprised to see barrel on this part of town. the selicks were always in new holland up to no good. perhaps oogie put him up to this. before he helped the young boy, he took one more good look. “y’know i wish i had my camera or something, this is priceless!” he kneeled down and slowly pulled him out of the water. he glanced around quickly- no sight of lock or shock. “what happened to you?”
or leave jackjack an ask https://jchnjackson.tumblr.com/ask
“brown? someone’s favorite color? i don’t think so!” anna was glad that she was smiling again. it felt so much better. of course, that didn’t mean her problems were gone, they were still there- always were, always would be. but for the moment, she didn’t have to think about anything except brown, which was easy. “i don’t know! i don’t think i even own any brown clothes. i mean, brown and black don’t go together, and a lot of people wear a lot of black, which basically just pushes brown out of the options for wearable colors!” she shrugged, completely agreeing with him on that. brown was certainly not her color, she always felt like it clashed with her hair color. “yeah, i mean, each day is easier i feel like. then somedays you wake up and it feels like the day it happened all over again.” she sighed, nervously tucking a strand of her long, red hair behind her ear. “no, i haven’t. elsa says i shouldn’t go into that area alone. i mean- no offense! i’m sure it’s a nice area, just- um, you know! it’s got a reputation, and my sister says i shouldn’t go alone, especially at night. so, i don’t usually adventure around there, but maybe i should!” she did consider it, nice quiet places for her sounded wonderful. “it’s not like i really listen to elsa allthat often…” she mumbled, a light giggle leaving her lips at the idea of it.
“crazy, right?! maybe that’s why they make scarecrows wear it.” although this conversation wasn’t a permanent solution, jack was still glad he could take her mind off of things. at least for a little bit. “but it is also considered a fall color, right? we sort of associate it with thanksgiving.” he shrugged and continued to laugh along with her. new holland was always a taboo subject around carthay. sure it did have a reputation, but that’s what made it stand out right? it certainly wasn’t as bright and cheerful as the other places around here. in fact, it had this overall creepy feeling to it. it always seemed to be dark and cynical all the time, the woods especially. get lost in there and you won’t make it out for days. but all of those things made jack adore it more. “none taken. it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. but you should definitely made it out there when you get a chance.” he paused and turned to her dramatically. “-if you have the guts. well elsa seems to be a little protective..”
“Does it look like I’m kidding?”, Atta pointed to her serious face. Jack Skellington was City Hall’s favorite event coordinator, even after the Christmas fiasco. “Come on, we need something to make the people happy, what’s wrong with an awards viewing party? It could be done with sporting events, or just movies. Ask the restaurants for food, local shops to help decorate… but you’re the expert, what do you think?”
being an event coordinator meant jack basically lived at city hall. it also meant that he dealt with the mcenery’s a lot. he adored atta’s mother. it was someone he respected a lot but he didn’t really know atta all too well. all he knew was she always seemed to be antsy, one that was never settled. even though he was older than her, he always felt like she was his babysitter, especially after his last stunt. he narrowed his eyes and rested his head on his hand, listening intently. he always loved hearing new ideas, and this one wasn’t bad. “huh. a themed party based around it? sounds pretty alright to me. only if it’s a black tie event. we’d have to stick with the theme, obviously. i’m still liking the nacho idea but we need like- fancy foods. what do they eat? then again- i’ve never seen them eat at awards. if it were me, i’d sneak snacks in.” he laughed at himself, thoughts shifting for a moment.

“… what I’m saying is that restaurants and bars are completely missing out, Oscar viewing parties would be so popular, and imagine how many people would want nachos”, Atta sipped on her sweet tea as she waited for a table to be free, the restaurant was packed. “plus, it’s a Sunday, the business is low on Sundays”.
“oscar viewing parties? are you kidding me?” he scoffed and shook his head. jack never really saw the appeal of award shows and pop culture in general. he never really kept up with actors actresses, or the latest movies. but he pondered the idea of them for another moment before bashing it altogether. “it sounds better than sporting events, i guess. and everyone would have to dress up like they’re going to the oscar. serve fancy appetizers and drinks.” he laughed and shrugged. “i like the idea.. mainly because of the nachos. sell cheese fries and i’m sold on it.”
Berlioz danced into the room, sliding across the floor with a big smile on his face. ‘’Guess who just got an A on his composing project, as well as a free pizza?’’ He asked no one in particular. In reality, he was just addressing the room fishing for compliments in true Berlioz fashion; ‘’I’ll give you a hint. It’s also the answer to the question; Who has two thumbs and looks like the cat who got the damn cream..’’
jack was sprawled out on a couch, reading another stephen king novel. his eyes met berlioz’s when he slid into the room. he started to congratulate him but he stopped once he heard the word “pizza” from there, he began a slow clap while his eyes searched for the food. “that sounds great. love to hear it sometime but i’m not gonna lie, you had me at free pizza and now i’m a little bit more interested in that now.”
anna finally smiled as jack turned the conversation around, glad that he did. “you know what? i totally agree.” she lowered her voice, as if the fact that brown dresses were usually ugly was a big secret. although she didn’t know him well, he seemed kind. quieter than her ( most people were ), but still very kind. almost like elsa, but also very different. anna wasn’t sure exactly how to place him, but she knew that he was someone nice and that’s what mattered. “yeah, i mean, it was quite a while ago now, but it still… sucks.” she sighed, lacking a better way to put it. “i just don’t know how to talk about it, is all, so it’s easier not to.” anna nodded, glad he seemed to understand. “yeah, sometimes. i like to go a lot of places. this is one of my favorite spots.” she had climbed this very hill just the other day with a friend. up high, the city below them, watching the sunset. it was nice, anna was much happier then. she always felt happy up here, so she figured she’d take the hike. it was always nice to get some fresh air. “new holland? is that where you live?” the girl had never really been in new holland, at least, not alone. she always thought it might be fun to explore, although she knew some considered it to be dangerous, so she found herself playing it safe. she was sure that if elsa found out she was wandering new holland alone, she’d be in some big trouble.
a small sense of relief washed over jack when anna finally smiled. he lowered his voice to match hers as he chuckled a bit, continuing on with the banter. “come to think of it, i’ve never heard of brown being anyone’s favorite color.. so why do they make clothes that color?” even though he stumbled into her at a low point, he could still feel the positivity radiating off of her. she just seemed to have this bright, joyful spirit. “they say time heals things but that may be a different case when you lose someone so close to you. i get it.” he gives her another encouraging smile while he looked out at the breathtaking view. although new holland was his home (which he took great pride in that), it was nice to find places that cleared his head. he nodded , eyes still fixated on the city below. “indeed. have you been there? lot of quiet places for you to go. it’s nice.”
