An annoyingly familiar, and chipper tone seemed to meet her ears as she was called out to. The ghostly skeleton that floated above the ground came to a halt near her, blabbering on about gifts. Crimson hue would follow his outstretched arms to the ends, where a bear, white as snow, was being held in his bony fingers.
Silence seemed to pass over the two, and for a brief instant, all she could see on the otherside of this gift was an obscure version of Mikhail offering her some sort of ludicrous offering. Wordlessly, she would relieve the boy of the bear, turning it over in her hands, examining it. She had never received anything like this before — other girls had, but she had not. “You shouldnt spend your money on other people. Just because everyone else is doing it, doesnt mean shit.” She would bark, yet still remained somewhat enamored by the offering.
so zero has a very good point about not giving in to peer pressure, but the appeal of happiness and gift giving is so contagious in the air that emil doesn`t care about the lack of change in his pocket as long as she approves. seconds pass by before she relieves him of his gift, chastising him all the while. no words can describe how glad he is over the gesture, aware enough to know that zero could possibly find better as all adults do.
fingers curl back to his chest momentarily before his arms fall limp to his side. his head tilts downward in an expression unreadable to all due to the lack of facial structures to decipher with. then, as if his thoughts have finally pieced together, he lifts his head. "i know," emil admits, shyness creeping back into his tone. "but... i wanted to make sure you got something today, too."
