   EXPELLING  A  SOFT  BREATH  AGAINST  HER  LIPS  ,    mulder  smoothed  his  hand  against  the  ivory  expanse  of  her  stomach  and  abdomen  before  pausing  just  where  he  wanted  .     ❛     i’ve  missed  you  too  ,  scully  .     ❜     twisting  his  hand  around  to  cup  her  sex  ,  the  pad  of  his  thumb  instinctively  went  where  he  knew  she  enjoyed  most  ;  his  distinct  memory  of  her  always  proved  itself  to  be  useful  .

     her breathing is much quicker now as his hand trails down along her frame , but the second he’s cupping her sex she can’t help but to whimper . it feels amazing . . . of course she can PLEASURE herself , but there’s something just a little different about having someone else make you feel good .     “ oh , god . . . yes . . . ”     she’ll smirk ever so weakly , eyes hooding over before her mouth hungrily tries to take his lips in an almost messy kiss and her hips lift into his touch .

    TO  THIS  VERY  DAY  BETWEEN  THE  TWO  OF  THEM  ,    mulder  couldn’t  pin  scully  down  …  figuratively  ,  of  course  ;  she  constantly  surprised  him  and  right  now  ,  mulder  wasn’t  going  to  wager  a  guess  on  if  she  wasn’t  going  to  wait  for  him  .  instead  ,  he  held  up  a  finger  for  her  as  he  reached  down  to  casually  turn  the  mower  back  on  .  sending  her  a  grin  ,  mulder  finished  mowing  the  yard  fairly  quickly  ,  leaving  it  beside  the  porch  to  go  and  find  her  again  .

     pin her down ? even LITERALLY he has trouble with at times . . . dana scully has always given him a run for his money . she waits another minute or so before disappearing inside , far too impatient to wait for him to finish . she’ll have the water on by the time mulder joins her in the bathroom , the woman still fully dressed as she stands before the mirror and looks her reflection over . . . she doesn’t realize mulder is in here with her .

    SCULLY’S  SILENCE  WAS  BOOSTED  BY  HIS  OWN  ,    gaze  pinned  on  her  as  he  held  tight  onto  his  drink  .  finally  ,  she  broke  it  .  mulder  let  go  of  a  breath  ,     ❛     you  invited  me  over  .  i  didn’t  ask  questions  .     ❜     they  invited  each  other  over  often  …  typically  at  work  or  over  the  phone  with  a  reason  given  .  scully  hadn’t  really  supplied  him  one  .  perhaps  while  inhebriated  ,  it’d  slipped  from  her  mind  .

     “ why didn’t you ask questions ? don’t you want to know why you’re doing something BEFORE you do it ? ”     then again , mulder does oftentimes go into things blindly . . . it’s the fox mulder way . his blind optimism and blind faith in the supernatural and extraterrestrial is what tends to drive a lot of their cases , but scully ( even in her drunken state ) has come to adore that part of him . she hasn’t even taken a sip of her drink , though . scully is far too focused on their discussion .     “ and isn’t it kind of , i don’t know , odd that you’d come to your work partner’s apartment so late at night ? ”     standing close to him all the while , chin tilted so that she can get a better look at him , her drink is absently set aside back onto the island of her kitchen .

    AS  THE  DOORS  OF  THE  ELEVATOR  DINGED  OPEN  ,    he  was  the  first  to  step  out  .  when  she  got  to  his  side  ,  mulder  looked  ahead  as  he  gave  his  answer  .     ❛     i  just  want  to  get  out  of  the  basement  for  a  little  bit  ,  scully  .     ❜     walking  around  would  elongate  their  time  away  sure  but  things  did  need  to  get  done  .  he  was  just  tired  of  the  basement  air  .

     scully knows better than to continue arguing with him when he’s already made up his mind . mulder knows what he wants , so she’ll go along with it for the time being .     “ whatever you say , mulder . ”     she’ll entertain , stepping forward with him and out into the cool and fresh air . it does feel nice , and already scully feels herself not wanting to go back down to the basement .     “ anything particular on your mind ? ”     it’s a random question ; she means nothing by it .

    AS  SHE  SCOLDED  HIM  LIKE  THE  CHILD  HE  WAS  ,   his  brow  dipped  at  her  and  fox  mulder  could  be  seen  in  a  pout  ––     ❛     scully  ,  i’m  not  discriminating  against  your  manos  de  piedra  ,  it’s  just  that  i  agree  the  fbi  was  a  better  fit  for  you  .     ❜     hands  of  stone  .  relaxing  again  underneath  her  renewed  touch  ,  his  lips  tugged  into  a  grimace  ,  the  silence  vanished  again  when  scully  started  her  scolding  up  again  .     ❛     i  think  you  would  argue  that  i  wasn’t  .     ❜

     a huff of air leaves her nostrils at his additional comment , but otherwise she pays no heed to what he’s said . admittedly she’s glad she’d decided to do this over working at a hospital , but at the same time she hasn’t ruled out the other profession completely . . . it’s smart to have a backup plan , and dana scully is nothing if not smart . as she finishes cleaning the cut , she’s carefully stepping a few feet away to sort through her at home first aid kit to find ointment and a band-aid .     “ you do that too much , mulder . you need to think before you act . if you don’t it might end up getting you really hurt one day , much worse than it did this time . ”     OR WORSE .

    GREEDY  AND  A  JERK  WEREN’T  QUALITIES  MAKING  FOX  MULDER  WHO  HE  WAS  ,    her  words  merely  used  as  a  playful  tactic  .  eyes  cracking  open  ,  he  dropped  the  sarcasm  in  favor  of  guiding  her  legs  into  his  lap  and  holding  her  close  .     ❛     i’m  always  nice  to  you  .  sweet  love  or  tough  love  .     ❜     with  his  beer  bottle  sitting  aside  ,  his  fingers  danced  along  the  curve  of  her  ankle  as  he  smiled  .

     what a good man he is . . . mulder has always known when to show her this TOUGH LOVE he speaks of , as well as sweet love ; ‘ sweet ’ tends to be his default , though .     “ then be nice to me now . i just said something really kind , but you just keep teasing me . ”     does scully genuinely mind , though ? hardly ; this is how they interact . this is how they show affection towards one another . eyes fall to his hand at her ankle , though , and she can’t help but feel warm inside at the sight .     “ are you happy , mulder ? ”     she asks him this every so often . she can’t help it .

    THE  WAY  MULDER  GRIPPED  HER  WAS  SUDDEN  ,    fingers  curling  almost  too  hard  into  skin  .  making  her  look  like  him  ,  blood  coating  the  freckled  ivory  along  her  temple  ,  was  not  his  intention  ;  an  apology  would  have  to  be  delivered  at  a  later  date  .  mulder  let  up  on  her  hand  ,     ❛     you  were  going  to  be  a  doctor  with  those  hands  ?     ❜     came  his  gentle  complaint  ,  a  striking  contrast  compared  to  his  previous  hold  and  his  ragged  appearance  .  sadly  ?  this  was  a  normal  tuesday  for  him  .  another  scar  added  to  the  map  .

     her movements pause the second mulder reacts in such a way , and for the briefest of seconds she worries she’s done something wrong . in a way she has , but the redhead can’t help what comes out of her mouth next .     “ you’re an fbi agent with that low of a pain tolerance ? ”     scully counters , pleased with herself . the words are spoken warmly , though , for his pain is not one she necessarily wants to mock . she continues to clean his wound otherwise , though , dreading that she’ll have to stitch him up ; all because he’s too stubborn to go to the actual hospital .     “ what were you thinking , mulder ? you didn’t even call me until AFTER you approached our suspect . ”     she isn’t mad , she’s just DISAPPOINTED .

   FOX  MULDER  WOULDN’T  BE  HIMSELF  IF  HE  DIDN’T  JOKE  ,    his  fingertips  curling  under  her  hold  and  keeping  the  moment  sweet  …  y'know  ,  before  he  burst  .     ❛     have  you  ever  been  inside  a  sauna  ,  scully  ?     ❜     a  snort  fell  quickly  from  him  as  he  claimed  her  lips  ,  kissing  her  sweetly  ;  plenty  hot  ,  scully  .  but  would  she  complain  again  how  slow  and  steady  he  was  going  ?

     the joking makes it all the more them , for it’s part of what makes mulder , well , mulder . it’s who she knows and it’s who she adores .     “ ha ! cheesy as ever . ”     scully teases him gently , eager to get lost in yet another kiss shared with the man above her . she doesn’t mind how slow they’re moving , for it isn’t even slow to her . this is a big step for them , for it means that they’re both willing and prepared for what comes along with mutual love making ; all of the feelings and emotions that will undoubtedly return .     “ i’ve missed this . . . i’ve missed you . ”
