RGU Short Course Exhibition
I’m honoured to have participated in the RGU short course exhibition this year alongside so many talented students. The exhibition is located at Grey’s school of art and is open to the public from Monday 13th March until Tuesday 21st March.
Wifeyeti snapped a couple of quick pics below during the private view. There is also a facebook gallery.
Reflecting on the course: My skills have definitely improved in a variety of ways since I started in October.
I can confidently map proportions and placement of features without it consuming an entire drawing session, however my composition needs work. I’ve also had the opportunity to mess with a variety of mediums, and I’m digging oil pastels more than I thought I would.
I hope to attend another short course in the future but in the meantime I want to improve my digital painting skills and see where I go from there.

Final Inktober, getting in some hand practice and messing around with the delightful bronze sharpie. Happy Halloween!

Another master study this weekend - John White Alexander - An Idle Moment (1885)
This one took roughly 6 hours. I could have spent a lot longer trying to imitate the exact paint strokes in the blouse and hair, but I don’t believe I would have learned much from doing that.
