Facts (not only FUN) about Ski Jumping vol. 2
Have you ever heard of Paula von Lamberg? If not, you must read this post quickly!!
The austrian Countess Paula von Lamberg jumped 22 meters (yeah, it sounds funny now but then it was a quite good, if not delightful, result, especially for a woman in long skirt) on the hill in Kitzbuehel in 1911. It was the first officially measured jump of a woman. She was called “flying Countess” because of the long, waving skirt, in which she jumped and the surprisingly long results she achieved. 💪😮😮
Let us know if you enjoyed this post and if you want more posts like this (or funnier 😋😋) about history of Ski Jumping and also modern Ski Jumping and Ski Jumpers 🤔
I’m reblogging my own post because I think that many more people should see this and get impressed by legend of women’s ski jumping!
I think all of us need a little more Antti in our lives
Ever want to talk to someone about ski jumping but then you’re too awkward and shy to actually do it.... ok no just me
Honestly feeling bitter that my train didn’t go to Bischofshofen today so I missed the amazing Ryoyu Kobayashi winning the grand slam
Finally the ladies will get to jump the large hills 🙌🏻
