So...
It’s been a while, but...
I’m back!
I don’t imagine I’ll be able to finish up the old stuff that’s on here. But I’ve got some new stuff queued and planned.
Hey, I wanted to apologize for my disappearance. My first excuse was that I was very busy at work. This was true. It's hard to work 60 hour weeks with very bizarre turnarounds, work on my various side projects, and have time to keep up an RP account and this blog. Naturally the RP and this blog have fallen to the wayside. I got injured at work and am now out on disability. Medical leave is a bizarre thing, and due to my company's red tape I haven't been able to get into the physical therapy that I need. A couple months ago I began working on a web series. I'm almost ready to start filming. I was hoping to get a jump on it during my medical leave but due to the nature of my injury that is not a possibility. So I fell into a photography project that is consuming most of my time right now. I'm typing this out on my phone because the problem is my left shoulder. And not only has my doctor given me a one hour a day computer restriction, but it just flat out hurts like hell if I spend too much time on a computer. I'm hoping to get back to all of this in the near future, once I am able to get to PT, heal up, and get back to my normal life. Thank you to all of my followers, and all of the new ones who seem to keep following despite the fact that I haven't posted anything in a while. You are all fantastic and I hope you stick around!
do you take requests?
Right now I'm in the middle of two things on here. Both of them have been so slow going that I really don't have time for requests right now.
I know. Lame, right?
But! I'm working on a pretty huge non-Tumblr related project and working a (much more than) full time job. Time has been pretty hard to come by lately. If I find some in the near future, I will let you know.
Thanks!
I love your hydra au! I hope its a little bit longer. Keep writing!! :))
Hey! So sorry I've been MIA. NaNoWriMo and work and whatnot. The Hydra AU will continue, I promise.
And thanks for the love!
Skimmons || Hydra AU, Part 5
Skye spent too much time with May to keep any secrets from her. She tried, but it proved too difficult. So one afternoon she came clean. Almost clean. She told May about the Hydra agent she’d met. The Hydra agent she couldn’t stop thinking about, though she didn’t tell her why. The time they spent together. And most importantly, how she had failed to kill Simmons.
And May did what she could to prepare her. Early morning meditation and physical training for weeks. She tried to clear Skye’s mind. To get her to focus on the assignment.
But Skye couldn’t get Simmons out of her mind.
Skimmons || Hydra AU, Part 4
Simmons told Skye about her past. She was born to two Hydra agents. Raised within the walls of various Hydra headquarters. She was a victim of circumstance. But she was still a Hydra agent. She’d been one her whole life. It was all she knew how to do. And she wasn’t quite ready to step away from it.
The night ended on a bad note, with Skye telling Simmons she couldn’t see her again. That she could never even speak to a Hydra agent on anything resembling friendly terms. An older man walked into the bar and looked at them. He tossed a gun to Simmons who stood and aimed at Skye’s chest. She pulled the trigger, missing Skye by several inches, and took off running.
The third time Skye saw Simmons was on another mission. This time she knew what was coming. Skye steadied her gun and took aim. She had been ready. Ready to take Simmons out, as needed. But when she saw her there, she lost her nerve.
Skimmons || Hydra AU, Part 3
Skye agreed to meet at a neutral location. A bar downtown that had no ties to Hydra or SHIELD. Skye arrived at the bar first. She took a seat at the counter and watched the door intently. Her guard was already up. She felt a tap on her shoulder. She grabbed the wrist of the hand that had touched her and spun the girl around, putting her into a hold. Agent Jemma Simmons introduced herself and assured Skye that she had no weapons on her. Skye did a light pat down anyway. She finally sat back down when she was convinced that the girl wasn’t lying. And what started as a subtle struggle for power slowly turned into what Skye could only classify as a first date.
Seriously, where do you get the ideas for your AUs?
My crazy, bizarro mind.
No, seriously. I have the beginnings of a whole bunch of these in my drafts, but then other things come into my mind and I’m like OH! I’ll go with that now for a little. Hydra!Jemma seems pretty topical right now, so… Seemed like an obvious choice.
Skimmons || Hydra AU, Part 2
The sound of a door slamming down the hallway distracted Skye for just a second. But it was long enough for the other girl to escape.
Skye spent the next week waking up from dreams of the Hydra agent. Bright, piercing visions of a girl with a ponytail and a black jacket. A British accent ringing through her ears. She pushed it aside during the day. And she was mostly successful. Until she fell into her bed each night and closed her eyes. Late nights got later and early mornings got earlier as Skye tried to avoid sleep. Melinda May could see the lack of sleep seep through in Skye’s lethargic training sessions.
Skye ditched training one afternoon to get out of the Playground. To try to clear her head. She didn’t know what she was expecting when her phone rang with a blocked number.
Skimmons || Hydra AU, Part 1
Coulson’s obsession with finding new recruits to rebuild SHIELD with had pulled him away from the rest of the team. So Skye was more than surprised when she was called into his office a bit before midnight on a Tuesday. She was not surprised, however, to find out that he was sending her on an assignment. A possible SHIELD ally in Cambridge.
It was supposed to be just a normal mission. Find the guy and bring him back to the Playground. But Skye got there a few minutes too late. The door of the man’s apartment was slightly ajar. She pulled the gun from her belt and slowly pushed the door open. On the ground was the still warm body of a man, blood pouring from two knife wounds in his abdomen.
Skye heard a footstep on the other side of the room. She raised her gun and trained it on the figure. An unfamiliar woman.
Hello lovely followers!
Here’s a heads up that I’m leaving for vacation in the morning. I’ve got two AUs in my drafts that I’ll be able to finish when I get back.
See you all next month!
And thanks for all the follows and the notes on my Skimmons Week things!
Thanks!
Skimmons Week || 7. Future
Jemma will spend too much time planning, put too much thought into, their third anniversary. So at first she will be a little annoyed when it's ten minutes after seven o'clock and Skye hasn't shown up. She'll get a little angry when she hasn't seen or heard from Skye twenty minutes later. It will all turn into worry when there's still no sign of her almost an hour later. Worry will turn to fear when the rest of the team returns with bullet holes and broken limbs. Fear will turn into terror when she sees that Skye isn't with them. And terror will revert back to anger.
She will cry for two whole days when she finds out. She will never be the same.
Skimmons Week || 6. Vulnerability
The second time Skye got shot wasn't as bad as the first. The bullet grazed her arm before breaking through a glass window behind her. Jemma, eyes trained on a surveillance feed, was forced to watch it as it happened. What actually took less than a second felt like years for Jemma.
She cried later that night as she put a bandage on Skye's arm. Everything really was so fragile. Everything so exposed. Jemma would never be able to protect her. Skye would always be in some sort of danger.
Skye reached up and wiped a tear from Jemma's cheek before placing her hand on the back of her doctor's neck. And Jemma looked down at Skye and said "I love you" for the first time.
Skimmons Week || 5. Music
Skye makes mix CDs for Jemma to listen to while she works in the lab. They encompass every genre, ranging from classic rock to latin dance music to 90s alternative to top 40s. The only thing they have in common is that they all end with "Fools" by Lauren Aquilina.
Back when Skye was just Jemma's friend, that was the song that made her realize she wanted more.
Skimmons Week || 4. Healing
In the aftermath of the bottom of the sea Jemma lost her ability to cope. Everyone around her was going through the healing process, but she was just trapped. She turned to whatever pills she could find. When Skye figured it out she did a sweep of the bus, getting rid of everything. Painkillers, alcohol, even vitamins. She stuck by Jemma’s side through the physical, then mental, withdrawal.
And when Jemma made it through the woods, Skye kissed her. A soft kiss that tasted slightly of black tea. It was like a different kind of drug.
