I  JUST  REALIZED  THAT  THE  SCENE  OF  STAIN  CONFRONTING  ENDEAVOR      &      CALLING  HIM  A  FAKE      (      &      WANTING  TO  KILL  HIM      )      IS  IN  THE  VIDEO  OF  STAIN  THAT  DABI  SAW.      DABI  IS  INTRODUCED  AS  SOMEONE  WHO  HAS  TAKEN  TO HIS  IDEALS      &      WANTS  TO  FINISH  WHAT  HE  STARTED.

HC      :      DABI’S  MOTIVATION.       /   aka  dabi  running  away   &   becoming  dabi.

dabi  ran  away  when  he  was  a  teenager.   he  wanted  to  bring  his  siblings  with  him,   he  wanted  to  bring  fuyumi   &   his  older  brother  with  him  but  they  didn’t  agree,   they  wanted  to  stay for  reasons  that  dabi  could  never  progress   (   fuyumi  wanted  to  stay  for  shouto   &   his  big  brother  wanted  to  stay  for  fuyumi.   )   dabi  started  to  despise  them,   he  saw  them  as  weak  for  not  wanting  to  “go  against  their  father’s  desires”.

he  ran  away  at  night,   not  leaving  behind  a  note  or  saying  goodbye.   he  wanted  them  to  think  he  died.          HE  NEVER  WANTED  TO  SEE  THEM  AGAIN.      he  didn’t  even  think  of  shouto,   he  assumed  shouto  was  being  treated  perfectly,   he  had  no  idea  the  horrible  things  their  father  did  to  him;   he  thought  shouto  was  the  perfect  child  while  he  as  the  disappointment.   he  ended  up  with  fire  too  hot,   too  combustible…   his  flames  were  too  powerful   &   he  ended  up  with  none  of  his  mother’s  quirk.

(   if  he  had  known…    it  would  have  been  different.   he  wouldn’t  have  waited  to  end  endeavors  life,   he  would’ve  killed  him  with  the  quirk  his  father  deemed  a  mistake.   )

dabi  lived  as  a  ghost  for  a  months,   committing  petty  crimes  to  gain  money   &   set  up  a  “home”  in  an  abandoned  building.   he  dyed  his  hair  jet  black,   a  deep  contrast  to  his  once  bright  red  mess  of  hair  that  reminded  him  TOO  MUCH  of  who  he  wanted  to  end  the  life  of.    the  man  he  wanted  to  destroy  using  the  failed  quirk  HE  created.

he  got  his  body  modifications   &   completely  disguised  himself  as  someone  different.   NOT  ENDEAVOR’S  MISTAKE   /   A  NEW  PERSON.      he  named  himself  “dabi”   &   decided  that  not  only  did  his  “father”  disgust  him,   but  most  of  the  heroes  did.   they  were  greedy,   stealing  spotlight  from  each  other    &    only  saved  people  if  they  caused  a  good  scene,   so  they  could  rank  in  the  most  money.      IT  ALL  DISGUSTED  HIM.      heroes  shouldn’t  be  like  this.   he  wanted  to  stop  them  all…   not  just  HIM.

THEN  STAIN  SHOWED  UP  IN  THE  NEWS.

whatever tension still remained seems to melt away just then , but shigaraki is holding his breath . it takes a lot not to fall asleep right then  &  there .  &  if dabi wants him to move at any point , well … TOO BAD . ‘   ah . good question .   ’   the answer : i wasn’t really planning on it . which is usually the case  —  he’ll stay awake sometimes until he physically can’t any longer . how he manages to get anything done is a total mystery .   ‘   can’t you say the same thing for most days …  ?  ha ha …   ’   maybe that’s why he doesn’t sleep .   ‘   ——  i’m not moving anytime soon . sleep is out of the question .   ’

a  soft  chuckle  leaves  his  lips,   hands  reassuringly  linger  along  shigaraki’s  clothed  back;      if  shigaraki  wasn’t  sleeping  tonight,   chances  are  dabi  wasn’t  going  to  either.      it’s  become  increasingly  harder  to  sleep  if  he  wasn’t  joining  him,   a  feeling  of  dread  in  his  stomach  when  he  thinks  of  shigaraki  possibly  being hurt      &      him  not  being  there,   too  tired  or  asleep.      HE  NEVER  WANTS  TO  LOSE  HIM.      ❛      well,   i’m  here  with  you  tonight.      what  cute  game  are  you  going  to  play,   cutie   ?      ❜

A  DISTRACTION.      he  doesn’t  want  to  cause  shigaraki  any  stress,   he’s  stressed  enough  without  his  help.      ❛      are  your  dogs  okay   ?      ❜

the sadness is still there , but subtle . something else takes the forefront , but overall his expression returns to it’s usual  NEUTRAL  state . the question undoubtedly rubbed him the wrong way .   ‘   there isn’t a way to not disappoint him . i thought you  KNEW  that .   ’ his gaze is cast down , fixating on a scuff in the floor .   ‘   if you’re really asking … i guess what happened was … i’m not good enough at taking a beating . so i could never be a  HERO , right  ?   ’   he glares at the floor , now .   ‘   —   but i’ll show him how good i can deliver one .   ’

it  feels  as  though  his  heart  stops  beating  for  a  split  second  as  the  words  come  from  his  brother’s  mouth,   the  brother  he  abandoned  without  a  care  in  the  world  due  to  his  own  misconceptions.      HE  WOULD  NEVER  HAVE  LEFT  WITHOUT  A  FIGHT;      IF  ONLY  HE  HAD  KNOWN.      ❛      he...   he  beat  you   ?      ❜      the  words  feel  heavy  as  he  speaks,   hands  trembling.      how  come  he  never  assumed  the  worst   ?      dabi  lets  out  a  shaky  breath,   resisting  the  urge  to  hold  him.      he’s  never  felt  this  before.

❛      fuck━      ❜      eyes  squeeze  shut.      ❛      i’m━   i’m  so  sorry.      ❜      an  unfamiliar  phrase  leaves  his  lips  as  he  stares  down  at  his  little  brother.      he  should  have  known.      he  understands  exactly  what  shouto  is  feeling;      the  overwhelming  desire  to  DESTROY  their  shared  enemy.      they  WILL  destroy  him   &   his  pride  together.

dabi  tends  to  not  cry  for  months  until  something  sets  him  off,   in  which  he  will  cry  on   &   off  for  hours.   he  wants  to  be  left  alone  when  this  happens.   he  views  it  as  a  weakness   (   even  though  it  isn’t   &   he  never  views  other  people  crying  as  weak,   only  himself.   )   he  hates  being  vulnerable  around  people.
