hey it’s nic, over analyzing things again. but hear me out here…
after brutally burning a gang to nothing but ash & skeleton, he says this. he could just be saying shit, but i think the line “if you’re gonna be trash, you can at least be my kindling” is important. dabi idolizes stain, who is a vigilante & kills people who he doesn’t believe deserves to live, mainly pro heroes who only work for vanity or money. it doesn’t make much sense that dabi, who wants to finish what stain started, would just be killing random criminals in an alleyway.
i think he’s doing this for a reason. after all, he has a very noticeable change in crimes as i’ve stated before. he goes from:
which is a very drastic change. nothing noticeable to burning people to death.
what caught my attention is this happens in the twice chapter, 115. the same chapter that reveals endeavor as the #1 hero & that people are uneasy about it. giran calls twice up & asks where dabi is bc shigaraki wants them all together ( this is ten chapters before we see the villains again & twice brings overhaul to see them, a situation dabi wasn’t around for bc he was busy with the criminals. his own agenda. ) in the same chap that we see endeavor become the #1 hero, that’s the first time we see dabi stray from his original lack of noticeable crimes.
endeavor is in the news, a flame hero. what else is stated to be in the news now ? alongside the news of him being the #1 hero ??
BURNT BODIES. this is touched on more in someone elses theory ( which is great & detailed, check it out. ) but it’s interesting how different of a change he goes through with his crimes & it only happens AFTER endeavor becomes the #1 pro hero. i think dabi is trying to ruin endeavors reputation & i think endeavor knows this, which is why he’s trying to “change” how the world views him.
the “kindling” he’s talking about to the burnt bodies is him saying that if they’re going to be trash ( criminals ) they might as well die to add onto his list of burnt victims that’ll appear on the news. the kindling is his agenda, ruining endeavors rep.
i believe dabi’s reveal could be closer than we think & it’ll be the only good thing about endeavors bullshit “redemption” arc.
