Paige is mildly intrigued. “I can relate to that. I used to want to be a New Mutant ‘cause that’s where Sam was. He’s always been the big hero type.”

"Nah, if you’re a mutant you ain’t ever gonna be normal in any way that counts. The Guthrie’s are big, the Grey-Summers are complicated. We’re different.”

“So you’re not worried about ruining the time stream then?”

“I wish it were that simple. Or hopeful.” She gives a small smile. “Ever thought about stepping out?” She pauses, then tacks on: “of their shadow.”
“I used to be real concerned about it. It really bothered me. Now, I know that Sam’s got different things goin’ on than me. That’s okay.”

“It ain’t a competition if you’ve got solidarity.” Paige was ( almost quite literally ) raised in a barn, but she knows who Loki who. The god isn’t exactly how she imagined him, but she never thought they’d ever meet. “Y’know, I wouldn’t have judged you if you raised your hand.”

“Look at ya now. You showed them, I’m guessin’.” She’s Carol Danvers. Everyone knows who Captain Marvel is. “Crisis? No, not really. I love Sam and the rest of ‘em. Just reflectin’ more than anything.”
