“Hm.” Bennet hummed with content— he respected Jean for that. “It is bigger than all of our feelings. It’s good to know that you are with us now.”
“I don’t regret what I’ve done and in fact— I would do it again if it was necessary.”
“There’s corruption on Krakoa. Some things can only be concealed for so long before the inferno blazes.”
“And I suppose you will keep it to yourself? Or will you share what you see?”
“I do not care what Emma Frost said. She does not speak for all of Krakoa.”
“And neither do you.”
“See, we’re not all bad, are we?”
“Good and bad are such subjective terms, aren’t they? Can we blame them for not seeing the truth of things?”
“I don’t think anything is as simple as you’re making it seem. It’s not cut and dry.”
“Or perhaps you are simply making it much more complicated than it needs to be. Have you thought of that?”
“Something is wrong.” Her father is dead, the Avengers and mutants both targeted. “Not having answers is difficult.”Â
“Grief clouds the mind, Wanda. Looking for answers won’t help with what you are going through.” Magneto needed to die. It was that simple. “The loss of your father is felt by all of us in one way or another.”
“I know that I’m Jean Grey and I’m supposed to say something about how resilient we are, but it really sucks being blown up.” Even if it’s for a good cause.
“It was necessary. I think you’re smart enough to know that, Jean. But if it helps— I apologize.” He said the words, even if he didn’t really mean it.

Gabby cried, pulling Jonathan from the ground with a clump of fabric still in his mouth, one of her hands fighting with his clenched jaw in an attempt to free the torn cloth while her other hand held the untamed beast off the ground. "I was trying to get a hotdog for us- Cause he was hungry- And, I thought he was going to be patient and not TRY TO EAT SOMEONE'S LEG!" She yelled, lightly swatting the beast on the nose before immediately following it up with a kiss and turning her attention to... Well, she couldn't tell, too much fur in the way. "He's usually so well-behaved, and cute, and cuddly, and- He must've smelled something, that's totally not your fault, he just gets really rah at some certain scents!"
“..why do live with such an animal?” That’s all he had to say. He remained calm as the chaos happened around him.

Exodus tilted his eyes with a squint of his eyes. “Only the weak resort to name calling. I’ve been alive hundreds of years, I have heard worse. You seem to care more than you’re willing to admit.”

“I don’t think we’re on the same page right now.” Sam doesn’t think himself much of a diplomat, but he’s failing to give himself proper credit where it’s due. “It’s not whining, it’s just trying to come up with a solution here that will get everyone movin’ in the right direction.”
“It’s almost sweet that you think that’s possible.” Exodus responded with almost a sneer. “I happen to know we are far past that option.”

“You may have misunderstood me. The Fantastic Four aren’t the Avengers. I’m here without any connection to them.”
“Hm.” He paused, giving her a glance over before continuing. “There are so many teams, you cannot blame me for not seeing the distinction right away. Why is it that you’re here, then?”

There’s a faint sigh of relief. Hope was ninety-nine percent certain he’d respond that way, but hearing him say it affirms her hopes. “I know. Thank you. I had to ask myself if it really is what I want, and it is. I’m not sure if the Council will agree. It’s a pretty big ask, but it was also a pretty big disrespect that we got slapped with. Are we supposed to just take it sitting down like we used to? I don’t think so. Not if I can help it.”
“Of course we aren’t.” Exodus practically scoffed when he replied. He took a moment to gather his hair and pull it back into a bun as he thought. He might be on the Council, but it was no secret that he would do as Hope asked no matter the circumstances. “They are fools if they do not see the right path. And the Avengers chose wrong the second they took you.”

“Where was the reluctance when you were snapping Hope Summer’s neck? Or when you teleported me away so they could kill my wife again?” Raven’s still seething over that, but she knows she can’t truly pick a fight with Exodus and win. “You are as much a part of it as I am. The blood is on the hands of the entire Council.” Raven’s are always stained red. It’s nice to see the others join her.
“You should be grateful that we did what was necessary to bring back the Messiah and your wife.” Exodus stood his ground. “Tell me, now that she is back— would you have us do anything different? I’m not against having blood on my hands, Raven.”
