I wanted to start with saying that your stories are the absolute best!
I have had this idea in my head about aemond being so protective over you and killing someone for disrespecting you. But it actually really upsets you that someone lost their live ābecause of youā.
And then him being super upset with himself for upsetting you. And him not knowing what to do with himself, because he feels as if he has failed you. You the one that had always been there for him.
So he tries to make it up to you in all kinds of ways.

I think this is something that could definitely happen towards the start of the relationship? Once he marries you heās very stiff around you for a while, assuming that thereāll never be any actual love between you.
But then once you start communicating more and he realises you listen to him and acknowledge him and thank him for things? Then heās hooked. Aemond goes from being annoyed with having to be around you to tripping over his own feet in his hurry to be with you and this shift occurs once you start to praise Aemond when he does things well, even the smallest thing.
So before it turns sexual, well, before it turns actually sexual and not just him trying to do his duty and getting an heir, thereāll be this limbo period where he knows he wants to please you but doesnāt know how? He loves seeing you smile at him, having you thank him for things and ask him to do things. Once Aemond realises he can make someone genuinely pleased to be around him, he doesnāt want to be be around anyone else.
You start to have dinners together every night and Aemond actually forbids the servants from filling your glass or clearing your plate because he wants to do it. He wants you to feel like heās doing something for you.
(Slight side note: Aemond will ONLY do those things for you. If itās a dinner with multiple people he will only pour your glass of wine and push your chair in, never anyone else. This definitely annoys Alicent because she sees him doing it for you and expects that he does it for her as well meanwhile Aemond doesnāt even look her way the entire dinner he could not care less what she wants)
So yeah, Aemond wants to please you, and of course at this point heās far too emotionally constipated to justā¦ say so. If he had said so earlier you would have ordered him more and made clear instructions and praise and heād be having the best time. But nope, he doesnāt say anything about it yet.
Of course you do know he likes to please you, he tries to hide it but you can see how much he relaxes when you thank and praise him. But at this point you donāt know the actual extent of it. You donāt realise just how badly he needs to please you.
As the two of you slowly start to spend more time together, you start being seen with Aemond more and thatās when this happens. Itās most likely something like a noble who makes a comment about you not yet being pregnant or suggests maybe he can āhelpā you with that.
Obviously you arenāt exactly happy about the comments, but you roll your eyes and say you love your husband and you think thatās it. Aemond, meanwhile, is shocked at the comment. Heās angry, of course, but youāve already dismissed the man before he can even say anything.
For a few days you donāt think about it at all, but after a few dinners in a row without that nobleman making an appearance, you mention to Aemond that you donāt know where heās gone. Aemond refuses to meet your eye, and so you ask the question again.
Thatās when he blushes and you realise heās done something. He admits that he took care of the nobleman, and when you pressure him on why you realise it was because he disrespected you.
Youāre silent for a moment, and thatās when Aemond realises how badly he fucked up. He has no idea what heās supposed to do now, because thereās nothing he can do to change it. You end up just dismissing him and telling him to leave you alone for a while.
You donāt speak to him for two days and during the those days heās a nervous wreck. Every time someone asks a question of him, he snaps. Heās never felt this bad before. Itās not even killing the guy, he doesnāt care about that. But the look in your eyes when you realised what he had done haunts him.
Every time you walk into your chambers thereās new flowers or books or something there, clearly left by Aemond to try and apologise.
Maybe this is the thing that gets your actual dynamic worked out? You know you canāt go in just never speaking to your husband so you call him over and obviously heās begging for forgiveness the moment you let him in the door.
You tell him that you will forgive him on one very important condition: he has to explain to you exactly why he did what he did. He stumbles over his words and he loses composure over and over again but you just patiently wait for him to finally explain the whole thing.
I actually think heād end up crying? Cause he justā¦ he just wants to make you happy. He desperately needs to know that someone is happy with him. He only cries harder when you pull him into a hug and promise him that heās good, that he can be good.
You promise him that he can be good, but he has to listen to you. He canāt just go around killing people, and he canāt assume you want anyone dead either.
He spends the rest of the night in your room, and when you let him cuddle against your chest he never ever wants to move again.
