Picture this image, the trio stopping off at Trader Sam's on the way back and having a good old celebration with her and her family and the pair of them ending up out of their tree drunk (looking like that instagram post of Jack's) and the end of the night a tipsy Frank (who has matched them both for drinks but due to size and experience is weathering it much better) lugging them back to the boat, one Houghton over each shoulder

A scene I don’t think we mention enough is at the very start where Lily is hanging out the window and Macgregor is chucked out the front door. This whole scene establishes Lily’s character very well- she's smart, she's impulsive, she's driven, but also set up that Macgregor has some hidden depths underneath his rather more nervous exterior.

He sees her in danger hanging off the ladder and super quickly takes it in, takes in the oncoming bus and runs straight at it to stop it in the right spot so she can drop in. That's such quick thinking under pressure (and another case of the Houghtons putting themselves in danger to help the other one), he rapidly puts together what is happening and what he needs to do and he instantly acts on it. 

He's nervous giving the talk, he's slightly cowering trying to get the bus to stop, but he does both anyway for his sister. I think it shows that the both of them are at heart made of the same adventurous stuff, just that shes embraced it fully and hes still suppressed it trying to fit in. I love his character journey, but the essence of this braver/ more adventurous Macgregor was always there underneath and I love the little glimpse of it at the start.

no but between a woman who doesn't meet other people's expectations and ideas of womanhood and refuses to accept the binary gender roles of her time and a man who is dealing with homophobia but learns to love and be himself after finding a place where he's accepted, Jungle Cruise really just warmed my queer heart
